Buy these shorts!!
Most importantly, they fit! I'm 5'5, 128 athletic build. And they feel almost how I would imagine running naked might feel! Waist is a little high, but not unflattering. The built in liner is unnoticeable and comfy. I run stadium stair in these shorts and there is no tugging or tightness. Very pleased with this purchase!!
New Favorite Running Shorts?
Nice length on these -- long enough to cover the thighs without being too long. Cute detail on the side and very lightweight and comfortable. These may be my new favorite running shorts. I am a size 8-10 and the mediums fit me great (5'6" and ~145 # athletic build).
Love these ...
I have to say that I really love these ... worried that the waist was going to be too tight and they are a perfect fit! I am 142 lbs and 5'5" with a very athletic build 99% of the time! By this time in the summer I have not been able to exercise regularly because I have 3 young children so I am a little fluffy around the middle. I probably could have worn a small, but think they may have been a smidge snug. They are very roomy in the legs but because they have a built in ... there is no worry about seeing anything. Wore them yesterday for a spin class and they were great! Dried quickly and are very soft! Thanks - need to order more!
Best athletic shorts EVER!!!
I'm tall 5'9 1/2". I have an athletic build but smaller bone structure. I don't like anything that squeezes around my hips and these shorts don't. I want to buy a pair in every color but alas, I don't have that kinda $ to burn so I'll be VERY happy with these shorts. I got the blue and love the color! The inner short wears so well I don't even have to wear undies, which eliminates any unnecesary sqeezing or lines that those can cause. I highly recomend these shorts!!!
My Fav running short
I have this short in 3 colors and it probably won't stop there. It is hard to find a nice running short that does not crawl and is comfortable. This is definitely a favorite. 5' 6", 140 lbs athletic build, medium is perfect.
Awesome
These are by far the best athletic shorts I have ever worn! I am 5" 8" 170lbs with athletic legs and they fit so great and there is no riding up! Love them! Just ordered another color.
Comfortable Running ...
This was my first Athleta running ... after many purchases of other types of clothing. They're comfortable, don't ride up, and run true to size. I'm 5'6", 135lbs, usually wear a medium (or large in Nike) and the M fits perfectly.

I am 30 years old, 5'4" and around 135. I have an athletic build from lifting weights and am currently training for a marathon. I saw these shorts on the model and said, "I would love to look like her"...so I ordered them in the deep purple color and I couldn't be more in love. They are wonderful. Great running short
I got this in both M and S, but I am sending back the small. I like wearing them a little longer and baggy. I am 125lbs and 5'1". I have petite athletic build. Both sizes were fine, i just like more coverage than less.
Great Basic
I really like these running shorts. I wear them for workouts and running errands. They are cool and comfortable. I found they run true to size. While I am in shape I do have athletic legs and these give me tons of room. The built in liner is great too! I just ordered a second pair!
Love them!
Ordered the gem blue shorts and absolutely love them! I am athletic, but do not have a tiny frame...5'8" 145 lbs and definitely carry my weight in my rear - a true pear shape! The medium is a super fit and flattering both for running or just being active. The only reason I selected four stars is for the price - a bit higher than I usually prefer to pay.
