The Perfect Pair of Shorts!
I love these shorts!! They fit exactly the way I wanted them to. The material has a bit of stretch to them and I love the pocket styling. These ... definitely great for the beach/pool over your bathing suit. I wouldn't consider them athletic shorts - I wouldn't where to the gym or go running in them. They are nice because you can wear in the water and they dry very fast (faster than my bathing suit).

Love, love, love these shorts. Just got em. Been trying on shorts for weeks. These are the best yet. Came back to get a second color and they don't have my size in anything else :( I am 5'5" and 118 lbs. Good athletic shape but with a small tummy. I usually order a 2 or 4. 2 was PERFECT. The green is very pretty.

Breeze ... Rocks my World
I bought the Breeze ... Black and Olive to wear on a solo backpacking trip to Utah and Arizona. They work like a dream. I'm size 2 to 4 depending on the day and brand --5'6", 115 to 120 lbs, and I ordered size 2. They are perfect. I have a booty and a little waist with wide hips /athletic build, and they fit perfectly. Perfect length with perfect rise to just above hips. They don't show crack, and they stay put! I wore these -without washing them - for 10 days straight. Slid down rocks, got wet, laid them out to dry and they were always ready to go. Felt cute and practical! Since that trip, I've worn them around town, mowing the lawn, to the beach, and lounging around the house. They are my favorite do it-all shorts.

Breezy!
Bought two pairs (green and orange). Love them. I'm an athletic build at 5'6 and for some reason regular jean shorts just don't work with me. I found these online and gave them a go purchasing a size 6. I really do love them. Light weight and very comfortable along with a great fit.

Best shorts EVER!
I ordered these shorts as a cover up to a bathing suit I bought (which I also LOVE). As a petite, very athletic body, it is so hard for me to find shorts that fit right. I have a teeny waist, VERY muscular rear and quads. These shorts compliment my figure beautifully! I love the drawstring waist. At 5'2" the length is flattering. I ended up buying 2 more pairs. I wear them every day!!! Please keep making bottoms w/ a drawstring! LOVE these shorts!

The perfect pair of shorts for ... athletic women
I am 52 years old, 5'1", athletic, 130 lbs but muscular. I fit into a size 2. I read through the reviews and saw the trend of these shorts running on the large side. I usually take a 4, and these size 2's fit me like a 4 so take heed! These shorts are nothing but flattering even for a woman of my age. Most shorts are either too ... too long. I want to show off my legs but not hang out of my shorts, and these do the trick. You do have to have a rather flat behind, however, so be forewarned. I wish the other colors were available in my size!

The perfect ...
These shorts are exactly what I have been looking for! I bought two pairs and I know that I will be wearing them just about everyday this summer. I am a 5'4" 143 pound athletic/curvy (37-28-39) ... legged, long torsoed woman with a Jennifer Lopez style rear end. I bought a size 8 and it fits beautifully. The length of the ... sits just below by problem area and makes my legs look longer. The waist has a string and therefore can be tied to fit the waist better. All pockets are zippered so you can't loose your stuff (perfect for holding ID, keys or credit card- boat ... material is soft and very light weight. My husband saw me in them and asked if my rear end was getting smaller. I figure [$] is a BARGAIN if it can make my rear end look smaller.

nice shorts
I am having a difficult time finding appropriate shorts for my active/athletic 13 yr old dd but these fit the bill. They are very "comfy", not too long, not too ... She says they are a little longer in the stride than junior sized shorts. My daughter wears 3 or 5 in juniors but the size 2 is about the same. Would love to have some for myself. Maybe I will just borrow hers! :)

I absolutely love these shorts. I ordered both the ... version and the bermuda version. The fit is perfect for an athletic build...size 2 and 4 fit me (5'5" 125 pounds). I ultimately chose the size 2 but kept the 4 in one color because it wasn't available in the 2. The fabric is light and breezy and dries quickly. I highly recommend these shorts as a swimsuit cover up, hiking, or just hanging out! The zippered pockets on the front and back come in handy and are really sporty.

Great fitting shorts!
I love these shorts! I'm 5'1" and approx 105lbs with an athletic build, and the size 2 fits great. They are comfortable, and great for water activities or just everyday stuff. My husband says they look good from behind.

Ultimate Favourite ...
I love ... They fit my frame perfectly. I am 5"8" 145 pounds with an athletic build. My hips are 40" and I ordered a medium. I wear them running, kayaking, when I am doing yoga, martial arts boot camp, and hiking. ... don't get sweaty even when I work out outside in the high humidity of Tennessee in the middle of the day. ... very soft and the liner doesn't really ride up. The ... grey with a white piping that looks really sharp and I think it makes my legs look smaller. The mesh liner is white but you rarely see it. It has a small pocket on the front inside that is big enough for a credit card but not my iphone. I am ordering a couple more pairs for the rest of the summer.

Love ...
I love ... ! Long enough to still look athletic and not frumpy. The compression pants inside feel wonderful. I know own 3 pair and would have more if all the sizes weren't already sold out. Need to replenish sizes and maybe even some additional colors? I would love to have a pair for every day. I run and have had no problem with the liner riding up as in another post. I also wear ... during my weight workouts in the gym and never feel "over exposed" when doing exercises with my booty in the air !

I love these ... likely purchase more in different colors. The material is so light and airy and comfortable. I never once paid attention to the ... during my workout, unlike a lot of athletic wear that distracts for one reason or another. They were fine in both the washer and dryer. Highly recommend.

My Go To Running ...
I love these ... running. The inside panty fits like a glove and the legs don't ride up when I run. I have the lime green (very cute), black (awesome), purple, and, pink (both pretty). I am 5'4", 130lbs. athletic build and the small fits me perfectly. I have the pinks in a medium and they are little "bubbly" in the trunk. If I had to chose a con, it would be that the inside key pocket opening is too wide. I'm afraid my key will fall out and I find myself checking during my runs.

New Favorite Running ...
Nice length on these -- long enough to cover the thighs without being too long. Cute detail on the side and very lightweight and comfortable. These may be my new favorite running ... am a size 8-10 and the mediums fit me great (5'6" and ~145 # athletic build).

Best athletic ... EVER!!!
I'm tall 5'9 1/2". I have an athletic build but smaller bone structure. I don't like anything that squeezes around my hips and these ... don't. I want to buy a pair in every color but alas, I don't have that kinda $ to burn so I'll be VERY happy with these ... got the blue and love the color! The inner ... wears so well I don't even have to wear undies, which eliminates any unnecesary sqeezing or lines that those can cause. I highly recomend these ...

Finally found the ONE!!
I'm 5' 9" 1/2. Petite frame but muscular. So I'm a very athletic girl who plaid volleyball and now swim, just added running so I have muscular legs so if ... sqeeze at all around my thigh area I tend to get a "thunder thigh" affect. I could live in the Hannah run ... EVERY other pair of run ... I've tried adidas, nike etc. it doesn't matter! They ALL ride up, sit too low and make me look even taller(not in a good way) than I already am. Other brands are made too ... hug just enough around my upper thighs that cause me to have a thunder thigh look. At least to me they do and since I'm the one wearing them, that's who matters! The Hannah run ... sooooooo comfortable! No riding up, inner ... fits well, they don't do any hugging and move wonderfully. There is no sqeezing around the waist. The color is very light blue but looks great!! I hope Athleta doesn't change these short(except the tie around waist. Just not needed.)

Awesome
These are by far the best athletic ... have ever worn! I am 5" 8" 170lbs with athletic legs and they fit so great and there is no riding up! Love them! Just ordered another color.

Believe the Hype
Amazing ... They run a size big. I usually wear large bottoms in Athleta and size 10 or 12 jeans but ordered mediums when I read the reviews. So much better than the usual big name run ... which always fit like a diaper! The liner fits really well. Im athletic but I have serious junk in the trunk, and these are the best I have tried!

Finally, a decent running ...
I admit, I'm not the size 4, 110lb typical athletic clothes connoisseur, but I do like to run and I live in a hot humid environment so require performance peices in my wardrobe. I'm squash shaped (wider than average in the waist but not an apple). When I purchased these ... could say "Finally a pair a ... not made to fit Barbie (or Skipper)!" I'll be keeping both pairs I ordered - cute, comfortable, light, and dries quickly. Pefect for Okinawa summers!

Love them!
Ordered the gem blue ... absolutely love them! I am athletic, but do not have a tiny frame...5'8" 145 lbs and definitely carry my weight in my rear - a true pear shape! The medium is a super fit and flattering both for running or just being active. The only reason I selected four stars is for the price - a bit higher than I usually prefer to pay.

Different from the last time
I ordered a black pair of these ... two years ago--they are fantastic! At 5'8", 135lbs with an athletic build (broad shoulders, straight through the waist with narrow hips but a healthy rear), I found the size 'small' to fit just right. I have a very difficult time finding running ... which don't 'poof' out and make my rear look huge or my narrow hips look puffy in front, but these, with the low rise and the ... legs were perfect. The lime green ... just received I still like and will keep, but the cut seems to be a bit larger in the Small this time around--the length is still where a running ... should fall--it just seems like there is a tad more material--fitting closer to how a medium would fit on me. BUT, all in all, these are fantastic ... run in--light weight, great colors and loose in the legs. (As there is no box above to check--"slightly bigger than expected" I felt they are truer to size than too big!)

Perfect for Bikram yoga
These shorts are perfect for Bikram yoga. They don't get all bunched up and wet like cotton shorts. They stay in place and are flattering in the butt. Best of all, they are not ... shorts like a lot of other Bikram yoga shorts. PLEASE add more colors!!

Great shorts. I am 5'2 116 with an athletic frame and the small fit me perfectly. I wear these shorts to bootcamp, zumba, and weight training. I loved them so much I ordered two of every color.

Favorite workout ...
Love this ... so much that I ordered the second pair! Perfect fabric, just thick enough to not let my bits and pieces move around. Top band is not so tight that it makes a muffin top. Inseam is just right, they are seriously the perfect length! I am 5'4", 130, athletic build and I wear a small but like them snug fitted ;~)

I usually take a small but reading the reviews I went for the xs.They fit great. I have athletic thighs and these don't ride up or squeeze my legs.

Great yoga shorts!
I really wanted the kickbooty capris to wear to yoga during the warmer months, but they're on backorder until the end of summer. I was super hesitant to try these shorts because I'm 5'9, 150 lbs, with big hips and thighs and a butt that's definitely not my favorite part of my body. I was afraid that I'd look stuffed into these shorts, or that they'd be too revealing for all of the bending that goes on in yoga. As soon as I put them on though, I knew they'd be great. Don't get me wrong.. I still don't look like the super athletic models in the photos, but the fabric is thick and stretchy enough to shape pretty well(and it's soft too.. they feel cotton y instead of like typical stretchy workout wear). I got the size M and they hit about an inch and a half below my navel, flattening the tiny bit of tummy I have and not giving me muffin top at all. They are fairly short(not even mid thigh) but they're definitely long enough that I feel comfortable on my 3/4 mile walk to the studio and I don't feel like I'm wearing booty shorts. I haven't noticed any sweat show through, and they definitely stay dry. I've only worn them twice so far but they seem well made.. we'll see how they hold up. I got them in asphalt, which might be just a little lighter than it looks in the photo, and now I want a black or pink pair as well.

My Favorite Shorts by far
i purchase one of these pair of shorts because i love the "biker shorts" look......i am 5'8" tall, size 8, 135 pounds and ordered size md. just for reference......all i can say is i love them soooo much i have ordered atleast 5 more pair........and would buy more had they more colors available.....these shorts FLATTER YOUR BUTT, are a nice weight (not too heavy and not too lightweight) , DON'T hug your stomach to the point that you get a muffin top, launder well and especially DON'T ride up your legs when you're wearing them........there are NO cons to these shorts that i've found.......to all the people that said they ride up your legs maybe you've ordered a size too small because i know when i order my racerback tank tops and if they're too small they will ride up my stomach?!........i run in these, walk in these and wear them everywhere and have pulled them down maybe two times at the most in twice as many months.......BUY THESE SHORTS and you will be glad you did (so will your boyfriend/husband)........they make you feel very sexy wearing them!

AWESOME shorts!
I love this ... purchased the Vata shorts a few weeks ago, and was actually trying to purchase more of those (love them too), and it seems Athleta is either out or no longer selling them (which I hope they get them back). So, I decided to try these too. I love them! They are not too ... too long, and they do not ride up. They do make your backside look great! I am 5'5", 125 pounds with an athletic build. I ordered a size small, and they are perfect! Thanks again Athleta for another great product!

Good quality shorts, but a little expensive.
I'm 5'5", 112lbs and I got these in a size XS. They fit perfectly and they are comfortable. I got them using a discount code and some reward points, but otherwise I probably wouldn't have purchased them. The quality is good and they are cute, but I have very similar shorts from other athletic manufacturers that are just as good and cost 1/2 as much.

Perfect Yoga/work out shorts,
I've worn and washed these shorts only two times, but the quality seems to be as impressive as the yoga pants I've worn and washed at least 200 times - they are still in excellent condition! I'm 5'3", athletic build, weighing 115. I tend to hold my weight in my hips and bottom. I bought the S based on reviews not wanting skin tight shorts. Yet these are roomier on me than I'd prefer. I debated exchanging but decided to keep them and order another pair in XS.

Nice shorts for working out
These are great shorts for working out, running or yoga. I've worn mine for all three, and I am pleased with them. They do roll up a little in the legs, but I have determined this is to be expected with "athletic" legs as all tight/legging type shorts seem to do it. I am 5'9" with a 27" waist and the smalls fit perfectly. These are a nice length, not to ... not too long.

Good shorts for gym and yoga
These are great shorts for the gym and yoga at a reasonable price. I got them in every color (though pink is not really my thing) as good shorts are hard to find. I like the waistband a lot as I don't have to keep adjusting like many yoga shorts. I have muscular thighs and these shorts work really well without cutting off at the bottom. My only complaint is NO petite sizes. Athleta does a pretty good job at bringing petite pants and a few dresses. Why not shorts? Just because it's a ... doesn't mean it works for a ... person! (same with tops actually!) The length is a little longer than I would like, but with most things, as a petite person, you just have to put up with it as I'm not going to spend the money to alter fitness clothing. Otherwise, nice shorts, good quality fabric. Hoping Athleta will keep things in stock that get good reviews. They tend to sell something one season, sell out, and then move on to the next thing.

Great ...
Been looking for swim ... forever. After 40, no matter how athletic you are, sometimes you don't want to show your whole upper legs! As other reviews have said, this does not have a liner or swim panty inside, so I would certainly not wear it alone. Have to wear swim bottoms under them. That being said, the material is awesome. Doesn't cling but drapes perfectly. ... wonderful for anything outside, especially if you might get wet. I wear them to work around the pool and yard, out to the boys' ball games, and also over my swim suit at the lake. ... perfect. If you go swimming you can take them off or leave them on, which is great! So unlike swim ... specifically swim suit bottoms, ... go either way.

GREAT ... SWIMMING AND RUNNING
I'm 5.4" and weigh 115 - I ordered size Small in black and ... fit PERFECTLY. Althought I thought ... were expensive, the design, stitching and quality is very good. I was glad to read that someone runs in ... - they're perfect for that (although no pockets). I didn't have any problem with the material like another reviewer did - it's nylon y and swim like (what I expected). Don't hear any noise from it. I wish it came with a liner/skivvies inside. Otherwise, I'm thoroughly pleased with them. I bought ... go with the Sparkle Blue Summer Shade long sleeve tee (rashguard) - ... look totally cute together .. athletic. Looking forward to another pair or some other ... swim bottom from Athleta for next summer.

If you add a zip inside or outside pocket for a key, chapstick or cash, ... would be perfect. I'm 5'7", 130 lbs with athletic build, and got ... wear while river guiding. Other than the needed pocket, I think ... work perfectly.

Cool and comforable!
Excellent quality and a great fit. Great style for someone with athletic shaped thighs! Works great for wet or dry activities. I do wish it had a built in panty like a swim ... Otherwise, a great product.

Great swim ...
... great pair of swim ... love the soft, stretchy fabric as opposed to board ... which offer no stretch. ... were too tight though, and I had to send them back and go with a bigger size, since I do not have an athlete's body and needed my "problem areas" to have a pair of ... bit looser coverage. I would prefer a drawstring at the waist, too. Overall, I'm pleased with them.

comfy!
... pretty comfy, but you do need to order a size up if you dont want them skin tight. i'm 5'7", athletic 145 lbs, usually wear an 8 - I ordered Large based on previous reviews, and they're good - definitely cant go smaller. Tight enough to swim in (wore them tubing and ... stayed on), but loose enough that i felt comfy and wore them all day at the party. Waist was a bit tighter than i'd like (on the verge of muffin top!), and comes up a bit higher than i like, but if i lose a few more lbs, they'll be perfect. The fake buttons are a bit weird, but not enough to matter. Do note that they're pull on styling and also no inner liner.

add a zippered pocket and ... would be about perfect. I'm 5'8", 130lbs with athletic build and got ... whitewater boating. I normally wear a 4 or small which worked for me, but just wish ... had a zipper pocket for a key and cash.

Not Quite Right
More a commentary on my body type- I am big + athletic. I have really big, muscular thighs and the suit was just not quite right. Too tight in the thighs and a length that rides up very easily on me. Not flattering in the least. Had to return. Otherwise I imagine ... good choice for someone with a bigger butt and smaller thighs- brown was a nice purply shade of brown & seems like a very practical piece.

Nice, but...
If you have a nice athletic build, ... my 40-something body, I was looking for something to help "fade" the lines of my bathing suit when worn. I ignorantly didn't pay attention to the fabric of ... "assumed' that ... were a board ... type, rather than bathing suit material. Needless to say, ... hug every curve and show every line from the suit underneath. If your bathing suit fits as it should, and you are happy emphasizing that line, ... great, but for me... I think I'll wait.

The model in the photo must be a size 0 with ... size 6, because ... super tight, too ... show every body bulge. Not at all what I expected. I am 5'4" tall, athletic with 38.5" hips and the mediums were way too tight.

Cute Everyday ...
These are my new favorite everyday wear ... think they'd also work for yoga or gym but they seem too cute for that! They're great paired with a T and flip flops for casual wear around town or on vacation. The lack of zipper/waist band makes them more comfortable for car rides or other prolonged activities. And they're sporty enough to transition to hiking or something else more active if it comes up during the day. The fit is as expected. I have a medium and am 5'7", 127# with an athletic build.

Comfortable and Stylish
The Fusion Bermuda could be used for just about everything! I wore them to work around the house, and I paired them with a cute halter top to go to the art museum. They are super stretchy and would work great for yoga/gym/running/hiking...everything! Also good for around town bike riding. I'm impressed! I'm 5"8", athletic size 4, and the size small is perfect for me.

OMG! I absolutely love the Fusion Bermudas! I have not worn the item to exercise, yoga or ride in...I have used them for everyday! These ... very flattering and fit extremely well. I am 5'6" and weigh 128. I usually wear a size 6 on the bottom and the medium Fusion fits great. It is not too tight or too loose. I love how this ... sits low on my waist and the above the knee length is perfect. I can dress these up or down and the view from the backside is great...those pockets on the rear really add a touch and enhance the booty. I exercise daily and have an athletic build. My legs are a bit thicker and I have muscle tone...no stick legs here...and I love the loose fit of these ... my thighs. I can see how these ... would not look so good on a gal with skinny legs as it would be baggy. Just try them...order your normal size and go from there. I would love for the price to be lower but I will wear these ... until they wear out! I am thinking about getting the shorter version for bosu/bench/circuit classes as those have a 5" inseam! You will LOVE the Fusion!!

Great ... run a little big
I am always, always a medium in shirts and pants - 5'6, 145lb, athletic frame - and these are a tad loose for me. They'll do, but a small would have been perfect. For running, I kept having to pull them up. Leg is very straight, does not conform to your leg. Overall, they are comfy and cute, just a tad big for the size.

Comfortable, versatile ...
I went with a small in this ... pulls a bit in the crotch, but fits perfectly otherwise. Since the ... have pockets, they look a little more formal than straight up athletic ... so I can get away with wearing them to work (my work has a casual dress code), and I can go straight from work to yoga in them because of the performance fabric. The length is really nice because they're cooler than pants or capris, but they don't show too much leg for the office or pigeon pose.

So Comfortable
I absolutely love these ... They have a little stretch in the fabric which I am a big fan of, yet they hold their shape. As with lots of Athleta stuff you can tell they are very well made. I order another color because I just love the fit. The length is right in the middle, not shorty ... but not burmudas either which is perfect for me because I am 5'4' and burmudas can sometimes overpower me, and shorty ... too ... someone in their 40's. I highly recommend these. I am 5'4' and weigh 130 and have a very athletic build. The size 6 fit perfect.

Great ... I'm 5'4" with an athletic build (read: big legs!) and ... fit well without clinging or riding up. They are also very flattering on my 46 year old waist which seems to have a muffin top no matter what I wear.

Love it for busy Mom on the go
... so comfortable and work great with my lifestyle. I love the material, it does not wrinkle. They are perfect for taking my kids for a walk or a bike ride, but don't look like athletic wear if I'm going to the store later too. The internal drawstring is a really great feature.

Where have ... been all my life?
I love ... I'm 5'4" and 127 lbs. and am wearing the size 6. They're a little loose but I like them that way. I may try a size 4 to see if they fit a little better but this pair is really comfortable so I'd be happy if I have to stay with the 6. I like the fabric and I don't think they look too "outdoorsy". Best ... ever!
I started out with one pair of ... earlier in the summer. I always have trouble finding ... long enough to run around in and comfortable. I'm 5'9, 150lbs athletic build (with a belly pooch still to lose) and the 8s fit perfect - I prefer bottoms to be a tad looser on me. I could have gone with the 6s and they would have fit. The inner drawstring makes ... fit "custom" at the waist - no gap in the rear - no sliding when you squat down. I have the light olive, asphalt and just ordered the fieldstone. ... must for any active summer!

Love these ...
I have been looking for ... fit well and aren't shorty ... booty ... long bermudas for over a year! These 5" dippers are the perfect in between length - hitting low enough on the leg that they don't ride up when walking. The back yoke is very flattering and the tie waist is nice so you can adjust it to fit your frame perfectly. I am 5'4" - (154lbs) with athletic legs and bum. I am usually a size 8 but ordered up a size based on prior reviews and that was perfect! I ordered them in both asphalt and the fieldstone, but weirdly the fieldstone were marked size 10, but must have been a size 8 because the width of the ... good 1/2 inch smaller - they still fit, but were a bit tighter than I wanted my ... Am waiting for the replacement ones - hopefully they will be manufactured correctly this time.

Fit like they were tailor made for me! The material doesn't wrinkle or bind, manages to look form fitting and relaxed at the same time. Quick drying material I can wear around town or on the sailboat. Size chart says I wear a 6, but after reading the comments that indicated they ran a little big I ordered a size 4. Thanks for all the reviews that allowed me to make the correct sizing choice. I have an athletic build, 5' 7" 128 lbs. ... neither too long nor too ... very sporty and flattering. I also ordered the longer bermuda length which look flattering and fun too.

Wonderful ...
I have been trying for the past 2 years to find a pair of ... fit me and the 5" dippers are finally it! ... NEVER fit me right (I am small framed, athletic build, 5'2" and 104 lbs.) but the size 0 in these fit me perfectly and are very flattering. The material is very cool in hot weather and doesn't cling to sweaty skin or wrinkle like cotton does. The buttons and silver buckle in back add to the style and the hjidden drawstring in the waist makes for a perfect fit. I took these on a trip recently and they were easy to wash out in the sink and dried quickly. The quick drying time also makes them nice for playing at the beach. I ordered these in the greenish tan and really like the color, very easy to mix and match. These are a keeper!

Dipper ... - great for hiking
I bought the dipper ... hiking tiip. I own the pants and also the 9 inch dipper. ... 5 inch ... great alternative for hotter days on the trail. The fabric is stretchy so it allows good movement without binding. The rise is a little higher than I usually like...but it's nice when you're carrying a pack with a waist belt because the waist of the ... fits nicely above the pack belt. I'm 5 ft 3, 120 pounds, athletic thighs, and the size 4 fits perfectly.

Close to perfect
I have an awful time finding ... but these are almost perfect for me. I am 5'5'', 127lbs, athletic build but also a bit curvy. Basically finding ... not too long, not too ... not baggy in the waist, AND not weirdly tight in the butt is a nearly impossible task. I am between a size 4 and 6 depending on the cut and got the 6. They are a little loose,but not sloppy, and the internal drawstring cinches up the waist just enough.

5" Dipper ...
Nice ... great for hot days, hiking and running errands. Super lightweight, easy to pack and dry fast. Runs a bit large, I have the Dipper Pant in same size(2) and they fit perfect but ... bigger everywhere. I'm 5 4" 115 lbs and athletic, I have a curvy bottom and a small waist. The drawstring saved them from being sent back. Next time I will order one size smaller for a more fitted look but it you like your ... looser order your regular size.

Good for all activities in tempatures above 60 degrees. I wear them under my ski pants and then out to dinner. I am 5'7" 125 lbs with athletic build and the small (4-6) fit well. Very dignified for us over 49 years old. ... work for everything .Add a nice top to dress them up.They work well for Mountain biking, and hiking. Get at least one pair in black.

awesome ... love the length- I am 5"4 and ... hit just a bit below the top of my knee. Like how ... flare very slightly to offset my athletic thighs. material is wonderful. don't know how it will wash yet though.

my favorite summer "uniform" item!!
I LOVE ... live in ... just purchased another pair! My one in-every color collection is nearly complete. ... perfect length--long, walking shorts--that will work for nearly any occasion/event. I have even been known to wear ... work once in awhile! I'm a curvy athletic "girl" who usually wears a size 4-6 (which Athleta lists as its small). In the Bettona line, that was way too snug. The medium fits me perfectly.

Glad I looked at the previous reviews before purchasing. I'm 5'4", 124 lbs, and athletic build. I ususally buy ... small or size 4, but purchased an X small based on the reviews. Fits perfectly with length just above the knee. Great stretchy fabric and comfortable for everyday wear.

A friend of mine showed up at yoga class one day in ... adorable Bermudas. She is like a model, tall and thin. I was hoping ... would work on my athletic, pear shaped body and happily ... did!! The fabric is awesome not only for yoga, but for sweaty boot camp work outs as well. I would have given you 5 stars, but ... do run a little large in the waist (even my tall and slim yoga friend agreed). ... true medium, and I am very pleased!!

Bettona style is great but watch the sizing
I love the entire bettona collection. However, watch the sizing. The size chart indicates that size S is 4-6 but I found the small to be more like a size 8. I am normally a size 4. 5'5" athletic build 128 lbs. I returned the original pair and went with XS and this was perfect.

Very cute ... but only gave three stars because unless you have a firm athletic body I wouldn't recommend. ... very cute but not for my 5'4", 145lb body. I tried a large, but ... revealed too much of my mom tummy. Otherwise ... great!

I wanted to love ... -- the color, the fabric and the cut seems like such a great idea, however, the waist is so HUGE on ... unwearable. I can't figure out how athletic ... should have such a loose waist. I believe that if you did any type of activity in ... would fall off! I have an average athletic build so I ordered the M, ... fit great in the legs and butt ..so I don't think ordering a small would fix the situation. So dissapointed.

LOVE!
I absolutely love these ... - I am 5'7 and 135 lbs, athletic frame with smaller waist and bigger higs and butt. It is very hard for me to find a pair of ... fit well - but these did the job. The drawstring waist allows me to tighten up the waist and I love that I can adjust the ... length. The Rosebloom color is beautiful. I called back to order the blue. They are my new go to shorts....highly recommend!

Yes, it's true that these ... have teeth on the front pockets but that is the only negative; they fit loosely, the pockets are functional, the length is adjustable, what more do you want in a ... Love them, should get them in another pair. I am 50, tall and thin (5' 11", 138 lbs), and long waisted with athletic, muscular thighs.

I love, love, love these ... fact, I just ordered a second pair in the rose color. I weigh 134, with athletic build/ 5'6"- I purchased the size 6. The fit is wonderful, with breathing room (not too tight, not too loose). There is a drawstring as well.

I love these ... bought the grey pair and really like them. They are a nice lightweight material for summer. The legs look cute both down or rolled up. They run big! I am 5'2, 118, athletic build and I bought a 2 whereas I would normally buy a 4. I would get another color but don't care for what they are offering in colors. Love all the pockets.

I have a hard time finding ... not too long but are not too ... These are just right. I like them rolled up. I ordered a size 6 and they were too big so exchanged them for a size 4, they fit perfect! So, I ordered another pair in a different color. I'm 5'6 and weigh 132, 44 yrs old and have an athletic build. I followed the size chart and was between the 4 and 6. So if you fall between 2 sizes go smaller. These are great for running errands and hiking. Love them.

Comfortable, nice looking ... Sizing varies widely between colors
I first bought the pink ... sale in size 4 (which I typically wear). The description of semi fitted really doesn't apply for the ... got. They are quite roomy, which for someone with more athletic legs is usually not the case (I am 5' 3.5"; 120lbs). I liked them enough to buy the blue pair. The blue ... much more fitted, and almost seem like a size smaller. Both fits are still roomier than Athleta's typical semi fitted ... though. I like the intense pink, but it isn't for everyone. I also find the zipper pockets interesting and not cumbersome at all. Pockets are placed well so my thighs don't look bigger. I like the length with the cuffs rolled/snapped up; too long otherwise. I'm happy.

Love these ...
I love the relaxed fit of these ... adjustable length and drawstring waist give you the ability to get a more custom fit. When you're in your 40's its hard to find ... don't look like you borrowed your daughters ... worse yet, your moms! I bought them for a 3 week motorcycle trip for something to wear when off the bike. I needed something lightweight and packable into a small space. These fit the bill. I am 5'9" and 160lbs with a curvy figure. I would suggest sizing down if you have an athletic build.

This ... too long and too big everywhere. It looks funny rolled up and is too bulky when rolled. I ordered my usual 4 but will be going back and not going to reorder. I am 5'1" and 115 with athletic build if it helps.

These shorts fit as expected. I have an athletic build, 5'4 and probably 125. The fabric is slightly thick for a summer ... but it will work! I love them! I love that they are organic and not made in [*]!

LOVE these shorts!
I have a tough time finding shorts that I like. I decided to try these (even though they are expensive for ... am very happy I did. I got the dark olive color, and it is a very rich color, almost a cross between olive and brown -- great color, will match a lot of different colored tops. They are a very comfortable fit (I find sometimes that ... hug my booty a little too tightly). They are also a good rise -- not too low. They are a sturdy material, a little on the thick side, but hold their shape very well. The silver loops on the waist are super cute. I am usually a pretty solid size 4, which is what I ordered. They are perfect for what I was looking for. They may run slightly larger than sized, but are extremely comfortable for every day ... I'll wear these until it is freezing cold outside, then will gladly pull them out again in the spring. I think I'm going order another color. I love the detail Athleta puts on little things, like the clear buttons on the pockets and the waist with a floral logo. These ... seem to be very well made. Side pockets are not too bulky (I always worry about that with cargo ... really cute and also functional. I am 5'6 and these are about 3 inches above my knee.

I love these shorts and I love the nice bright summer color. I bought them because I love my Kick It pants and wanted a pair of shorts. Both the pants and shorts are super comfortable and have great features like lot's of pockets, the inner draw string cord to get the perfect fit and the funky belt loops that add a nice touch of style. The shorts and pants are perfect for everyday wear. I do not use them for exercising since they are made of pretty heavy cotton but on cooler dyays they would be ideal for a walk in the woods or beach. One inconsistency is the sizing. They run generous. I bought the pants in size 2 and they fit just right but size 2 in the shorts was huge so I had to exchange for the next size down. I was worried the next size down would be too small or a little tight but they are plenty generous in the fit. I LOVE both the pants and the shorts. Maybe try a size smaller than you usually wear in the shorts.

These are my favorite cotton bermudas! I'm 5'6'', 117lbs, and have been told I look athletic/fit, but I feel that my thighs are a little too chunky so these worked out beautifully as they made my hips look narrow and my legs thinner. Love the length of these shorts... I am 42 and don't think I should be wearing ... shorts at this point, so if you share my feeling, you will like these. The design details are quite nice too and I get an awful lot of compliments wherever I go. On casual Fridays, I even wear them to work by dressing them up with platform sandals and a nicer casual shirt. The white ones are my favorite, but I also have them in other colors. Just wish they weren't so expensive... I would have purchased every single color!

Great Color!
Like these shorts! So hard these days to figure out what is the right size! Every manufacturer is different, I have clothes ranging from size zero to size 6 that all fit me! I am 5"7" tall 120 lbs, very athletic build. I ordered a size 4. I think they are OK. I wore them a few times and they certainly stretched quite a bit. Hoping washing will bring "em back to size. Could probably wear a 2, but would be a "tighter fit".

I want to love these shorts and I aaalmost do, but they're just a tad unflattering for my body type, which is: 5'7" 145 pounds with athletic meaty legs and a full butt. ;) The size 10 fits perfectly and the hidden drawstring waist is a dream! Adding bulky pockets to the thigh is not the best look for me but also the fabric is particularly thick. Very durable. Very very very durable shorts. I would use these on a trip to India as they are long enough (just cover the knee) to be acceptable and you could easily wash them by beating them on a rock without damaging them. HA!

NOT true to size AT ALL
I wear an 8-10, ordered 3 pairs of these shorts in a 10 and can't get them buttoned. They are definitely not a curvy fit and resembled a junior/teen cut, not an athletic cut. They are very tight in the rear. I wear a 10 in other Athleta clothing and usually the fit is more than comfy so I'm very disappointed in these shorts. I ordered these based on the "true to size" reviews but this is not my experience. I'm really bummed about having to return these. The fabric is quite stiff but very cut shorts, if they fit.
