Works for this short person!
I bought this because so many said it was too short! I usually buy halter swim tops, but after a few days those can irritate your neck and I like the support a racerback provides. I'd just always assumed that since I wear a large in bathing suit tops but I'm rather short that a racerback would have straps that are too long and far too hard to work some seamstress magic on. I am 5'3", a 38C, and a somewhat beefy athletic build; this top fits me perfectly. If anything, I like that it is shorter than the halter bathing suit top I bought at Athleta because that one goes far past "meet and greet" and it is very hard to shorten very stretchy fabrics with any standard stretch stitch on a sewing machine (the stitches aren't able to handle so much stretch without breaking, so you have to do some advanced technique hand sewing). My only complaint is I wish this top came in more colors. I bought the pink fan color, and I have grey bottoms that I will use with it, since there is no way I'd buy pink or another light color for a swimsuit bottom - there is simply too much grime out there in the real world to not end up with a silly stain on a light colored bathing suit bottom, PLEASE MAKE THIS IN MORE COLORS!
Always a fan of the racerback ...
and this one doesn't disappoint either! This is my 4th racerback ... love it - super comfortable, stylish, and high quality. I usually am a medum (size 4-6) and bought a medium in both the top and bottom of this print. I'm about a 36B and find the coverage to be perfect. I prefer the racerback over the halter b/c it doesn't pull on your neck at all - great job Athleta!
Love these tankini tops
I have purchased several of these wrap ... tops over the past 3-4 summers. They are about the only flattering tops I've found for small busted women. The design doesn't allow for gaps at the top, and the removable pads are a great feature. I hope Athleta keeps offering a variety of patterns in these tops. Just wish there were more boy short options.
Very comfortable, a little short
This tankini top is very comfortable and pretty. I'm long waisted and ordered a tall large (I'm 5' 8", weigh around 160) and it is still a bit shorter than I'd like... shows a bit of a gap between it and the bottoms. But I'm going to keep it. I can wear it as it is, but would look better if I lost 5 or 10 lbs.
armpits
suit gives good bust coverage but is wide across upper chest so digs into armpits a bit. also when in water ... floats up a lot to reveal stomach.
Too small
I am 5'9", 155 lbs, 36B, with a little extra around the middle from my last pregnancy. The Large ... fit really tight in the tummy area (not ideal for me!) & it was even small in the bust & I am very average. I am exchanging for the XL, but really surprised that I am that size? I really like the racer back & the coverage the top provides. I also purchased the Large boy short & it fits fine.
