Bettona bottoms - reviews

perfect ...
I am 5'6", 130. I bought these to wear indoor climbing and then be able to go out to dinner afterwards.... tried them on... I was nervous about buying the small..(thought about the med.) but they are perfect... I want them in every color! it's like wearing my yoga cotton ... (no pockets, not seams) that i lounge around in, but with the look of actual jeans.. not workout clothing or sweat ... length.. the bottoms just hit the floor when i'm bare foot.. i can absolutely see myself wearing these around town, to casual dinners, etc.. I normally climb in capri tights.. these are fitted enough from the knee up, but stretchy material isn't restrictive.. the boot cut legs allows me to feel like a girl off the street at dinner after climbing... love them already!

Pants vs. Tights
I'm 5'11, 145lbs and I tried on a medium, medium tall, and a small tall. I bought the medium tall which fit around the hips and thighs well—fitted, but not tight (so they look like pants, not tights). Medium tall is actually too long. I will have to have these pants altered because I step on the bottoms when I walk. Medium regular pants, however, were way too short. Small tall was the perfect length. I noticed that some other reviewers my size bought and were happy with small tall. Small tall did fit, but the fit was more like tights which I didn't want. Because mediums are slightly looser, they look like everyday pants (not workout pants). I wear these to work (black) and feel profesional and comfortable at the same time. Even though I will pay to have these pants hemmed, I am so happy with them that they still get 5 stars. Athleta, please also make these pants in a straight leg cut.

Very nice flattering pant!
I love these! A recent convert to going back to 'bell' type or boot bottoms - these are very flattering - they look and feel long, but actually are a great length - can be worn with heeled boots or flats! The look of jeans but none of the maintenance getting them on and off and answering nature's call!

I love these!!! I taught a Pilates class in them today. Perfect! I am a runner and I teach step and cycle. I would NOT recommend the pants for these activities as the bell bottoms are too wide and would catch.

Cute, but....
Okay. So this is my 3rd ... have tried. The first was a Small (I am 5' 7", 118 lbs, size 0 or 2 in most Athleta pants). I loved the fabric and the length, but I could not fill out the hips. Back they went. Next, I ordered the XS. Hips and butt were fine, but the length was shorter than the Small. Back they went. Lastly, I ordered an XS tall. I SO wanted to love these pants, but now the length was better (yes, I would have to have them hemmed), but now the RISE is CUTTING INTO ME! I love the way they fit, but DARN. So, the story ends with my 3rd pair of bettona's going back to Athleta. Bummer. :-)

Back pockets make your ... look smaller
I'm 5'2", 125 lb., 36" hips and wear a 6P in BR bottoms. Bought the Petite Medium in black heather because I have a 30" waist and this item is described as being mid rise. I am between PS and PM in Athleta bottoms depending on the rise and if it's performance fitted, semi fitted, etc.. I returned these because they stretched out enough that as the day wore on, they sagged and I had to keep pulling them up lest the bottoms drag on the ground. They are billed as straight leg but if you look at the website photos, they flare out a bit. (The Runabout pant, another great Athleta ... true straight leg in my book.) I bought the black ... classic in PS in store and am happy with the fit. Snug but not too tight. The back pockets break up the expanse of my rear and I think they make my ... appear smaller than it is. It's not huge but every little bit helps! Thank you, Athleta, for making petite sizes in bottoms. Now please think about offering some of your sweaters and jackets in petite sizes, too. Those of us who have shorter inseams usually require shorter sleeves as well!

Very flattering, but......
Love this ... overall: the length is great and the fit is very flattering for my body type. I'm 5'6 1/2" and the regular length is perfect. This only addition I hope Athleta adds is a drawstring at the waist. They have a drawstring on most bottoms which helps mature women who still have a slight waist! I probably won't wear these to do my interval training because they are too nice (in my opinion) but I will definitely wear them on my 'casual' days and know I still look great!

Lots of compliments on these
I had been looking for a pair of workout pants that I could wear while running the kids to school, stopping by the grocery store, all before hitting the running trail or elliptical. Of course I do that in my regular workout bottoms but with the pockets and stitching, these can almost pass as everyday bottoms. Many people ask me about them so I guess I'm not the only one who likes the idea! Things to note, that I couldn't exactly tell ahead of time, is that the material is thinner than you might think, and the material really IS pretty stretchy. They run on the larger size. I'm 5'10" and usually wear a size 14 but I had to return the XL size and go down to a L. Something to keep in mind. Also, I wear these running but they do have a bootleg so that might not suit everyone. All in all, they are a great addition to my workout wardrobe.

wish they were the same style as the tech ...
I love the tech ... pant- best pant ever I would say. So I quickly ordered a pair of the classic bettonas realizing I might need these when the weather ever warms up. Unfortunately, they are not the same cut. The classic ... has WAY too much material from the knee down- too wide, too much. It takes away from the functionality and the look for me. I had to return them and I am just praying Athleta will make a ... can wear in the summer.

Not a fan
I wasn't a fan of these. They were nice but just too expensive for pants that really didn't flatter my body. I'm 5'4 and 125lbs but my ... half is more on the curvy side. I wear a 4-6 in jeans normally and ordered a small in these. I wish I didn't have such a tough time finding bottoms that are flattering. I felt as though I had serious thunder thighs in these. I am back to my Nike Low rise workout pants. Sadly, they are going back. A medium would make them far too long and they were long already. The rise is perfect; the material is perfect; and the quality seems nice. But I think they are better off for someone a little less ... heavy.

I bought my first pair of these pants, in black, May 2012, and loved them. So, I ordered another pair in 'blue' in August 2012. I like these, but the fabric is different, it's lighter weight. They are more purple than blue, so the color wasn't what I was expecting. The black is also more of a boot cut. These are bell bottoms. I am 5'1" and 124 lbs, and the regular size fits me, except it's too long. But, pants are usually too long for my size, so that doesn't effect my rating. I would give the original pair a 5 star rating; and these purple pants a 3 star.
