cold weather running gear - reviews

Bring this one back please!!!!!
I started ... last October for the first time in my life - and bought this ... my outer layer! This was the BEST purchase I made - I ran 3x a week - all winter long and I live in Minnesota! I ran in single digit weather with windchill, with only a base layer under and was perfectly warm! The wind resistance, the pockets, the reflective features, the cut, style - all the best! I haven't seen anything else like it! Why would you discontinue such a great product!

Warm ...
This is a great ... but it is REALLY REALLY warm. I've been ... St. Louis winter and I'd say its too warm for weather over 20 degrees. It also ... bit small. I usually wear a medium in athleta, but I got a large based on other reviews and am quite happy with the sizing. The ... moves well and is great quality, just warmer than I often need!

Just right
Based on other reviews, I'm one of the lone customers who found this ... too large. I'd initially sized up (based on reviewers' feedback) but returned it to size *down* for a perfect fit. (I'm 5' 100 lbs, usually an XS in Athleta. The XXS was a perfect fit in this ... help others decide, this info may help: The jacket's thick and windproof, so layers underneath aren't necessary. (In fact, I was overheated when I layered, and I'm a typically chilly person. I wear only a base cami under this, and am completely toasty in 20-30 degree weather. That's a first for me!) I find that lack of typical winter layers really adds freedom of movement, and of course accounts for the smaller size I needed. I'll still need gloves when it's in the 20s, but the body, sleeves and neck are completely warm. Sleeve fit is slightly long, but that's to be expected since I'm a Petite. Love the 360 degree reflectivity and cheery but-not neon lime color which also helps visibility. (I'm 47 and normally shy away from colors too bright, ... very wearable and flattering.) A winner that I'd repurchase in a heartbeat.

Great winter running jacket
This jacket keeps you very warm for cold outside ... snug fit, but I like my running coats to be form fitting. I usually wear a small top/jacket and I purchased a small and was very happy with the fit. I am usually very cold when running outside during the colder months and this jacket keeps me warm. I can wear a good base layer underneath and be completely fine once I start moving. The jacket also extended sleeves with thumb holes. I just love it! I will definitely purchase another color.

perfect.
This is a perfect winter running jacket. I use it to ... through snow or snow shoe and it definitely keeps the cold and wind out. It's a hard shell, but still stretches, and is not restricting in any way. I wear a size small, so I bought a small and I can still layer beneath the jacket for extra warmth on really cold days. A great purchase!

This ... great for winter ... days are short. It's warm and waterproof. I really like the way the cuffs keep the cold out. It is just a bit tight in the chest and shoulders.

Just what I needed for ... winter ...
This ... just what I needed! It also helps that it is so cute and stylish! One minor wish is that it had more pockets. I would like a pocket in the back to store gear when I get warm on a balmy winter day. The fit is perfect and it has excellent wind protection. I love it!

Great jacket!
This is the best cold weather running jacket I have ever owned. I just came back to the site to order two more, but sadly, it is no longer available in my size, M. :( Athleta, please make another batch! Maybe a light blue would be nice. I like the fact that there is warmth in the arms. In below freezing weather, I wear one under layer and this jacket. Perfect! Reflectivity is great, fit is great, pockets are great, and thumb hook on the sleeve is great. Love it!

Cute and Unique
This ... really has style. I like it and am looking forward to using it as the weather cools. The measurements indicate I should get a M, ... looked a bit form fitting so I took a size up. The L fits well and doesn't look too big; makes me wonder if the M would have been too small. I wanted something I could wear over regular clothes on my way to work in the morning and then to from Yoga after work. The L fits the bill. I am 5'6" and 138lbs. (most of the weight is in hips and thighs, although I have large lats in my back due to kickboxing).

a bit fussy
I am a tough customer...a warm, comfortable, well fitting jacket that keeps the elements out is absolutely essential for my winter ... So the rundown: Pros: Color is amazing (dark plum), reflectors great for early a.m. ... plenty of pockets, snug fit. Cons: XS is tight in bust (I'm 34/36B) but rather roomy in waist; the zipper is fussy and really quite loud; sounds a little "crinkly" when running; armholes make the sleeves tight when worn, but my arms are pretty long. The true test was when I wore the jacket, and 2 technical under layers, during a race where the weather suddenly dipped to 22 degrees. At first I felt the every bit of wind and cold coming right through the jacket. Quickly though, I warmed up and realized my 2 under layers should have been just 1. The ... kept me cozy and I found myself forgetting about the crinkly noise. Afterward, however, wore all the layers to grab brunch, and the inside of the ... moist. Gross! It held in my body heat, but worked against my tech gear. I will keep the ... but alas, I am not in love.

The ... true to size. I purchased it intending to use it as a winter ... Chicago weather and it has fulfilled that purpose. I have only needed an dry fit, l/s shirt underneath and have been very comfortable. I have the turquoise and it is a very pretty color with great pockets for your key, gloves, music and not at all bulky. The one drawback is that it does not have any ventilation in the underarm area - that would be the only flaw I find with the design. I even purchased another for a friend as a gift.
