I love this coat!
The Minka Minka Coat has everything I was looking for. The length is perfect.. it's a casual coat, but it stylizes any outfit - jeans or dress. It is unbelievably soft and surprisingly warm for being so lightweight. I love that it zips, as opposed to buttoning. It looks good open or closed. Not bulky at all. We go skiing out west every winter, and I'm really looking forward to having a warm, fun coat to wear, other than my ski jackets. As far as size is concerned, I did have to exchange the first one I ordered because it was too big. I'm typically a 4, so I got the small, but I needed the xsmall. It looks really fitted, sleeves are plenty long, and I still have room for a medium weight sweater underneath.
warm cozy coat
Haven't been able to wear it yet as I had to take it to get the sleeves shortened; but no zippers or impediments so it was an easy fix. It is very fitted so if you want to wear much underneath you should size up. I sometimes need an xxsm in jackets at Athleta, but that was too small for me in this coat (5'2" and 106 lbs) so I got the xsm and it is nicely fitted with room for a sweater underneath. I got the purple color and love it
soft and warm
I haven't been able to wear this yet as I had to take it to have the sleeves shortened; luckily there were no zippers or any other problems so it was an easy fix. I usually wear an xxsm in Athleta tops, but this was too tight to put anything underneath in that size so I kept the xsm. I ordered the purple color and it is very pretty- a nice dark eggplant; the material feels a little more still than the Minka jackets I ordered last year, but the coat hangs nicely and seems like it would block the wind well. I am 5'2" and 105 lbs and the xsm fit fine except for the sleeve length.
Warm but shapeless
The fleece is really great on this ... - soft and warm. But the fit - as you find in a lot of long jackets like this - is somewhat baggy and shapeless; it doesn't really conform to the shape of your body. And if you sit in it, it tends to bunch up in odd places unless you unzip the bottom.
