better the second time around
I ordered this exact same jacket a year and a half ago in a small, based on some reviews at the time that said it ran a tiny bit big. I wore it, but always felt the sleeves were too tight on me (I am 5'8, 145 pounds). But it looked so great I just made sure I wore thin shirts!! Then someone dropped cigarette ash on the sleeve as I was walking down the street in the city, and it burned a hole in the sleeve! I STILL wouldn't give it up, until the jacket went on sale. I ordered it in a medium this time, and the arms are more comfortable and no more burned sleeve! Needless to say, I think it's true to size, looks great, surprisingly warm, and functional. My one complaint is I wish the pockets weren't mesh. They should be lined in the same fleece as the jacket to keep hands warm, the mesh does NOTHING--except keep your keys.

Fab Fleece
One of the warmest coats in my closet and just about the cutest. I love the snap buttons and the double breasted front I have it in falcon and It looks ... great you would hardly know it's fleece.I'm only 5'2" and I'm leary about sleeve lenght but these cuff up nicely, like they were ment to be and the length hits me at the thigh. Keep it up Athleta, you know just how to marry form with function. I am always impressed. I may just buy it in purple.

Nice Cooler Weather ...
I like this ... because it's lightweight and different. It's fleece material, so it has static and not great for windy weather but soft and comfortable. I don't like heavy and bulky winter coats, so this ... fits my needs. It's also great to wear over your gym clothes!

Perfect ...
Since CA does not typically get very cold, I have never needed a ... have always just used sweaters. This year we have had very cold mornings and days. This CA native needed something more. Being allergic to wool a lot of coats were not an option. This ... perfect! It looks cute, keeps me warm, and is not bulky. I can't wait to wear it on the weekend with jeans for a night out.

To save someone else from having to order 2 coats I'll give some specific measurements. The small fits all around better, except in the arms. My biceps are 10 3/4 inches, my arm from the top of ... shoulder to ... wrist is 22 inches and ... chest is 34. It fits great in the body, ... sleeves are a tiny bit short. I'm 5'8" and 130 lbs. I kept the small and love wearing the half mitt with it. The med was just too big in the body, ... would be a must if wearing thick sweaters with it. Love it!

Beautiful Jacket
I absolutely loved this jacket. The purple color was beautiful and the fabric was lightweight so the ... not heavy. But sadly I had to return it because the sleeves were too tight (narrow). I am a size 8 so I purchased the size medium. It fit perfectly everywhere except for the arms. I was not able to even get a long sleeve shirt through the sleeves of this jacket without the shirt sleeves creeping up to my biceps. When I held the shirt sleeves down with my hands I found that I had very little freedom of movement in the arms. I wish this beautiful jacket would have worked for me.

I was really excited about this ... didn't end up working for me. The sleeves were too short. I'm 5'11" and usually order tall size M in coats. Overall it was a nice ... keep the look and shape you would need to always keep it buttoned and I needed a ... didn't require that. I also hesitated after reading the reviews about the bulk in the chest area and I did find that it was a bit bulky for me. I am a 36 c/d. I did like fabric and color. It was a nice change from what I already have. If the sleeves had been longer I might have made it work ... did send it back.

LOVE!
OK. I love fleece coats for casual wear. I am a mom of one and we spend a lot of time outside in the fall and spring at playgrounds and hiking, biking, etc... I always want to be comfy and warm but stylish as well. This jacket really fits the bill! It is generously sized. I first ordered a medium because I wear a lot of sweaters and fleece sweatshirts.. I was concerned the small would be too tight in the sleeves and arms and chest (I am normally an athleta sm/med- more towards the small size. 5.6, 134 lbs). The medium was WAY too big and the bottom belled out with a huge flare so it was not at all flattering. I returned it for a small and just love it. I bought it in the deep purple which is just like Athleta's other deep purple shades. As a reference I usually buy Lands End Fleece coats for a fall jacket and this is way better made, warmer and much more stylish. Considering how expensive Athleta clothing is I actually think this jacket is reasonably priced. After all, many of their t's are $60 or more so to pay [$] for a heavy fleece jacket is reasonable in my eyes.

Switchback jacket
the medium jacket which is my usual size, was way too generous, and had to be returned. I just received the small, and the fit is great. I normally wear a size 8 overall...so I guess that could be considered a small, but according to the Athleta size charts, I should have taken a medium. So consider sizing down. Now that I have the right size in my possession, the jacket seems comfortable, a close but not restricting fit, and I love the falcon color. The snap buttons aren't a problem for me at all, and the style of the ... slimming, even though it's made of a substantial weight fleece. I am looking forward to wearing this well into and through winter to -fro workouts, and just everyday use.

Not my favorite...but keeping anyway
This jacket is WARM, which I wanted. However, it is a weird bulky shape from the waist down. I'm guessing it's because the material is so thick and therefore the seams make it bulky looking. I got the Falcon color to match my same color Bettona pants. Let's just get the color right Athleta and call it what it is -- "MUD" color. Looks nice with Black but I can't imagine any other color with it. I have long arms and ample chest so I needed the size Large - however, from the waist down I could have used a smaller size. I prefer to keep the jacket snapped, but just know it makes the chest area look bulky too. I'm keeping it though because it matches my pants and it was on sale. I really want the Swara jacket now, but sizes/colors are very limited.

so cozy, but not best fit across back waist.
When I first put this ... didn't want to take it off - it is so cozy and comfortable. Problem is, while it fits and looks great on the front, and has wonderfully long sleeves for my long arms, the fit in the back is not good. It bags along the back waist and puckers at the back waist seams. Sizing down from the medium didn't help, as the small was too small around the arms (and my arms are not big) and too snug over the chest. I kept the medium after trying another to see if it bagged less in the back (a bit better). Such an amazingly comfortable jacket that looks so great from the front should be designed to fit equally attractively from behind.

beautiful sweater
Based on some other reviews I decided to order a size down. Turns out that was too small and I am returning for my usual size of medium. I am 5'6, 130 lb, curvy hips/thighs. The small was too tight in the bum/hips. Am excited for the medium to arrive. I think I am going to love the sweater. Seems to be a quality piece.

Different than pictured, much nicer in person
I was really worried about ordering this since it looked a little like granny's old sweater online. I was wrong. Very figure flattering and cute. Looks great on my daughter and my middle aged self. I always wear a small in jackets or zip front sweaters and sometimes worry if it will fit my upper half since I wear a 34DDD. I usually wear a medium in tops, large in workout tops, and medium in pants if that helps. It's stretchy, so don't be afraid to order a size down. I ordered this in the olive expecting it to be more brownish like other olive things from athleta. The color is half the earth green (see drishti dress for a good example) and half olive mixed and has small purple squares mixed into the pattern at the end of the sleeves and at the bottom (very subtle and almost didn't notice). It's very warm and heavy and well made. If only it came in black.

Pricey but LOVE it
I'm typically not one to spend this much of a ... but thought I would treat myself for my 35th birthday - so glad that I did! This ... absolutely beautiful! So well made and warm. I wore it outside today with only a t shirt underneath in rainy 40 degree weather and felt warm and toasty. The cut is so flattering, even to a petite figure. I had to size down to an XXS small though to have a good fit in the regular size (5' 3" 110 lbs). It is a keeper!!

Beautiful sweater...
Beautiful quality sweater! I ordered in Grape and it is easy to wear with just a T shirt underneath or a turtleneck when really cold. I am 5'7" and 145 lbs - ordered a M. Fit not perfect but manageable. Sleeves a cuff too long but tight in the bum when all zipped to wear as a dress. Very cute when using the double zipper - down from the top and up from the bottom to just above the waist - creates a nice look for skinny jeans or leggings. Love it!

Nice looking, a bit uncomfortable
I have several ... coats from Athleta. The Voras ... one of my favorites. This Spooner Summit ... quite attractive and versatile, but I find it a bit itchy as I like to wear short sleeves under such sweaters.
