So glad I got it!
I've been eyeing this ... year or so, and finally bought it! I'm so glad I did! Fantastic dress...could easily be worn by the pool, or even to a casual dinner out. Can play with my preschooler while I'm in this ... Have several Athleta dresses, and am sometimes a small, sometimes a medium. Ordered a medium in this ... not disappointed. I am 5'6" 130-135 lbs. and fairly busty (36C). This ... fit perfectly and the built in bra is fantastic!
very versatile
Built in bra makes it difficult for a cover up. I didn't care at all. The bra has plenty of support. I wore it to a very hot pool party and the fabric was perfect. It's so cute that I'd wear it out to dinner. Longer than I expected but I love the length. So many dresses are just too short these days. It's adorable. I ordered black. I want one in another color. I ordered large first. I'm in between size 6-8 and hate things to be too tight/short. I sent back for the medium which is perfect. Hangs loose in just the right places.

You know...I love it! I poured over the reviews --which I rarely do--and agonized over the size, color, and decision to order. I finally placed my order when it appeared that stock was getting low and color choices were limited. This ... beautiful! The fit is elegant, sexy, and quite comfortable. I am 5'4, 122lbs, and 34 a/b and ordered a small which fits great. I love that Athleta has summer dresses with true built in support! I have had three babies and simple shelf bras do not work and are NOT flattering for those of us who have experienced pregnancy/nursing. The padding makes this ... me. In fact, I easily added another pad on each side to give even more shape. I often do this with swimwear and successfully tried it with this ... color, I ordered the blue and I really like the color--it's not a soft blue, but not terribly bright. Maybe a moderately bright, slightly deep... aqua? Sorry, the color is hard to describe, but definitely attractive...

I am 5'5" with an athletic build and I ordered a S in this ... fits great but is a bit baggy through the waist. I typically order dresses in XS but decided on the S due to the style. I am deciding whether to try the XS for a bit more fitted look. The neckline is great and would look terrific on most women as well as the material is light and breezy.
Good summer staple
This is a nice, summery ... fabric feels like swimsuit material, but maybe a bit thicker. The built in bra is nice -- more substantial than a shelf bra, good coverage. The overall length may be a little longer than some of the other Athleta summer dresses, but I"m 5'7" & not a teenager, so I appreciate the additional length. I'm 120#, small on top, and the XS fits me nicely. It's a flattering cut for smaller shoulders. The purple color is more vivid than the photo suggests, but not obnoxious at all. Now if only Athleta would ditch the "smart" post (read: slow boat!) shipping, I'd be a completely satisfied customer.
Nice ...
I really like this ... which is saying a lot because I never wear them. I decided to get a couple of dresses for my trip to FL. I really like the way it fits me. I have a small chest (size A cup) and large hips (think size 8 pants), so it's usually very hard to find a ... fits overall. I think it fits me because it is not too form fitting. Also, my stomach is not as flat as I would like, but it doesn't show at all. I would buy more of the Kokomo ... other colors if it were stocked again!!!
Cute idea, funky fit.
Really wanted to like it, but the material was very strange for a ... had some strange gaping at the neckline, fit in the chest and then billowed out at the hips in an unflattering way. It very well could be my shape v. the ... but I've tried other halter dresses before with better success. The color was a gorgeous blue - so it may be worth a shot for you. Just prepare yourself for the material. It didn't feel like something found in nature.
Not the best ... option
I tried the Kokomo, the Sunfish, and the shorebreak dresses. Of the three, this was my least favorite. The top fit oddly, even when I cinched up the straps in the back. I ordered the large, and it was true to size chart, but could have had more coverage on the sides (near armpits). The back was cute, but the whole package just left something to be desired for me. This is going back. Sunfish fit much better.
Returned This ...
I bought several dresses for a recent Christmas cruise, but decided to return this one. The neckline was not flattering for me and the ... just seemed to hang shapless on my body.
Would look better on someone who has a tummy to hide
I have several of Athletas dresses but this one is less fitted & would be more flattering for someone who needs to hide a tummy. I have ordered an XS to see if that fits a little better.
