exercise clothes for women - reviews

Curves Ahead
I think I made the wrong selection. I was looking for something with a more relaxed fit. The pants are wonderful, true to size and fit. However, I was looking for everyday pants to run errands, but the pant hugs my curves too much which is more than I want shown while running errands.
The pants are great and comfortable for all forms of exercise and workouts.

great for travel
I admit it - I bought ... no intention of ever doing anything remotely athletic in them; we were about to take a very long trip and I wanted something that would look good and feel comfortable the entire time we were traveling. After looking at lots of yoga ... online, I picked ... because a) the fabric - I was impressed by photos of upside down women with their ... staying exactly where their ... were supposed to stay b) the reviews saying that the waistline actually sat at your waistline c) the price. I'm 5'81/2", about 165 lbs and ordered a large. The 32" length turned out to be longer than even my long legs (not too long to wear but too long for me to run in, for example); otherwise they fit perfectly. They stayed in place, they didn't lose their cling, the waistband didn't roll and I was in them for many long hours so there was plenty of time for them to disappoint me. I would not hesitate to order ... again, I love them

Great workout ...
I typically buy ... exclusively from another major company of workout clothes, but lately they have not produced any new styles. I am VERY GLAD that I gave these Athleta ... try! I LOVE THEM!!! I was concerned with the wicking ability and how it would compare to my other brand of workout ... but there is no question that these ... have great wicking ability (I teach group fitness classes and fear wearing gray ... because of the chance of showing off my sweaty areas when stretching, kicking, etc.--So far no issues with that!). I also love that Athleta offers petite sizes; I have to look for the ... option because most workout ... made for "tall" people and I step all over the hem! I am 5'1" and the ... option with their ... fits great.

Finally, a yoga pant for grown ups!
I'm 58 years old, a size 4 with no tummy at all. I exercise every day and I'm in great shape for any age. But I don't feel comfortable in a low rise yoga - or any - pant unless there is sufficient stretch at the waistband so that a 'muffin top' of any sort can be avoided. This is the pant. Roll it up, roll it down. Extremely soft and stretchy material. Nike used to make a workout pant with a bit higher rise, and a bit more stretch -- but no more. I guess 'muffin tops' -- or anorexia -- must be all the fashion rage. Thanks Athleta, for making a workout pant for everyone.

Love these pants
Very hard to find exercise ... fit my 5'2" height AND my size 10 waist. Great for every day use, running, and also coaching. I will definitely buy in more colors!

Can''t believe it fits me...
I am a size 2X and it's very hard to find good workout clothes that fit. ... fits well even though the waist is a bit higher than mentioned (but I guess I am ... waisted). I have been wearing them to yoga and they are great to workout in. They move well with your body and they don't cut into your upper legs. They are a perfect travel pant as well.

Why Can''t I Live in These?
These are my first chaturanga product, and I am totally happy. Unlike a lot of reviewers, I am not small. I'm 5' 8" and a size 12 or 14 in regular clothes. The large is PERFECT for me. Like, eery perfect. I want to live in these.

Love the pant, but fit and waist band has changed
Originally ordered large, which is the size I bought a few years back. My weight and height have not changed, but Athleta must be making their clothes bigger. Medium fit beautifully. At first I did not like the wider waist band. Chaturanga ... used to have a smaller waist band. But when I got the medium and it fit, the waist band was not bad. I'm 5'5", 155lbs, muscular.

better than expexted
Just got these ... last week and they have moved into my favorite work out pant position. As a plus size, it can be hard finding good, functional, and attractive work out clothes. These have everything that a girl could want. The waist lays flat and it not binding. The material is slightly thinner than most of my other ones, so it kept me cooler. They wicked remarkably well in my hot yoga class...the only possible downfall could be the length. I am 5'8" and they drag the floor in bare feet. They have not gotten in the way, but it could be a problem for someone that has ... legs.

Now that I''ve got the sizes figured out...
I'm 5'8", 130 lbs, hips on the low end of the small range based on Athleta's size charts and in excellent shape. However, every pair of fitness ... I've ordered from Athleta in a size small has been too tight. Maybe it's me at age 50 I just don't feel comfortable in skin tight workout clothes anymore. I need at least a 33" inseam so have to order talls and have them hemmed but it's worth it. I've been very happy with the styles, quality and selection Athleta has to offer. Now that I've figured out the sizing I will be ordering more.

nice pants, but wide leg
I wish the leg of these pants was a little slimmer. I bought them for pilates, so I was looking for pants that did NOT have a pocket in the back (so many exercise pants do, for some reason) because otherwise mat work hurts my back. I am 5'4" ish but with short legs, so I ordered the petite size since exercise pants always seem to run long for me. Unfortunately the petite size is a true petite, so the pants are too short, and since the legs are so wide they look ridiculous on me. I may try the regular length but have a feeling they will be too long. For now I will just stick to wearing legging style pants as length of leg is not an issue. The material of these pants looks good, and I think they are a true gap size S. I usually wear a 2-4 in Gap pants.
