Love these pants!
I recently bought two pairs of Dipper pants and I love them both! The fit is fantastic -- very comfortable and flattering. At 5'3" and about 130 lbs, I usually wear a 6 but decided to order a size up after reading other reviews. The 8 Petite is a perfect fit. So happy not to have to hem!! The corduroy Dippers are an excellent mid weight -- really comfortable, not too heavy for early spring weather. They have a very smooth look, masking bumpy imperfections well. The lightweight cotton Dippers are very thin and lightly stretchy. Perfect for warmer weather, with a very flattering fit -- also not overly clingy or revealing. I feel great in both pairs and hope to grab more colors on sale. Thanks, Athleta!

Favorite pants despite the swish swish sound
I am 5' 6" and found the regular length to be about an inch too short! Regrettably, I had to order the tally and have them hemmed 1.5 inches now they are perfect! Good thing they were on sale because it justified the expense to alter them. As for the style, these are the most flattering backside pants I own. They are super lightweight, water resistant and comfortable which is perfect for Hawaii year round. I have them in many colors but my favorite are the sand and the olive. The one thing I would change is the swish swish sound they make when I walk fast. Perhaps it is just that I am carrying a little bit of post baby weight in my thighs?

The extremely versatile ...
I love these pants (I also have a black pair)!! They go to the gym with me, over top of my bike shorts, then I can change and go do errands or whatever. Very packable, wash beautifully, seem well constructed...I wear them constantly. They are lightweight and repel odor, comfortable, flattering (I like low rise) -- what else can I say!! Oh, and the pockets! Great for on the go moms!! I love these pants! Thank you Athleta! For sizing, I am about 5'6", around 125 and the size 4 fits perfectly. They are a tiny bit short (I have really long legs), but I like that b/c they don't catch on my sneakers and they actually stretch a bit on length I found too.

Great Pants!
I love these pants. I bought them for an upcoming trip and they will be perfect. They don't wrinkle and they are so lightweight. I'm 5'9 and weigh 125 and the 4 long fits great.

Love the Dipper
This is my second pair of Dipper pants. They're lightweight, so good for airports. Not for outside in the winter. They're super easy to move around in. I love the stretch but the fact that they retain their shape.

low rise dipper
these pants are so comfortable. I am 5'4 120 lbs and short waisted. the size 6 fits perfect. The material is lightweight and great for summer nights early fall.

Great fabric!
I love my corduroy Dippers, so I decided to try this fabric and like it even more. It's very lightweight and looks dressy, but it's one of the most comfortable pairs of pants I've ever owned. The navy is really a bright bluish purple, which I like for it's "pop." Washes and wears beautifully.

nice pants
These pants (that are similar to cargos) are awesome. They are lightweight, and very comfortable. I am tall and have a thin build, and probably should have gone with one size less for a more snug fit as they stretch. The length was a bit longer than expected. I wear them for work (plain clothes law enforcement). The belt loops are sturdy, and the pockets are perfect. I would recommend these pants, but probably a size smaller than your usual size. :)

Just right
These pants are very comfortable and fit just as I was hoping they would. Love that they come in tall sizes! I haven't had a chance to wear them hiking or traveling yet but I am leaving for Alaska next week and intend to put them through their paces. Love they way they feel and I know they are a perfect lightweight ... outdoor activities.

Love these!
The pants are so lightweight they are great for long days outside especially hiking in warm weather climates. They are also comfortable which is extremely important.

great pants
I love these pants. I got them for a trip to Europe. I need a comfortable, lightweight, smart looking but sporty ... all the walking I'll be doing. These are perfect. They are low rise, so if that bugs you, skip them. The fabric is soft and thin, but strong, so it will be good for wash and wear on the road. I need short/petite pants, and these fit perfectly. Just what I need!

Love the Dipper
I love the dipper pants! Wonderful for active lifestyle and casual Fridays at work. The fabric on these pants is super soft, and like the same pants in other fabrics, they are stretchy and comfortable. I am 5'7" tall and have these pants in regular length. After a couple of washes (I never dry in the dryer) they are a little short for me. I also have the long, they work well with a little higher heeled shoe (3 inches). Maybe after some washing they will work better with my favorite shoe height of 2 inches or less. I am a little curvy in the butt and thigh area and typically have a hard time finding pants that fit my legs without gapping at the waist. The Dipper pants are great because they are cut smaller in the waist than the thigh area and have a drawstring to take up the rest of the slack. All too often a drawstring leads to unsightly bunching, but not with the Dipper.

Great corduroy version of a ... style I love. Not the heaviest fabric, but certainly not a lightweight cord.

Love them
Nice comfey ... am 5ft 10 in and 155 lbs the size 10 fits nice a little loose on waist but I wear a belt anyway. Has a little strech which is good I am up and down all day as work with small children .Lightweight but not thin good for West Texas extremes in winter and spring. Overall very pleased good ... price will order from here again.

In love with the fit!
I have been eyeing these dipper pants for some time and order the low rise dipper & corduroy dipper at the same time. They fit wonderfully, and I don't find pants that fit well very often. I will definitely buy more pants from Athleta. My only complaint is the same as everyone else's...I really thought Cornerstone was grey. I saw perhaps the slightest purple tint on my screen, but it is way more than a tint, the pants are more lavender than grey. Luckily, purple is my favorite color and I own a lot of purple tops, shoes, jackets, jewelry. I was hoping these would be more of an every day ... but since it will be quite noticeable when I am sporting my purple pants, I won't get to wear them as often.

I loved these pants, but I am 5"4 and the petite were just so slightly too short and I was afraid they may shrink. The regular length would be too long. I can't be spending extra for alterations when they cost [$] bucks to start with. The courdory was nice and thick and the details on the pants so cute, but short pants just look dorky. They are going back, along with 3 other pairs of pants I ordered.

These are great lightweight, comfortable fitting pants and completely true to size a and the longs are long.

Very nice pants
I bought these pants to wear to work during the winter months. Because of my 1/4 mile walk to my office, I wanted something that would keep me warm and still look stylish for the office - these pants fit the bill. I was worried about all the metal on the pants as I have to go thru a metal detector everyday, but so far, I haven't set off the alarm. I give it 4 stars, mainly because I don't like the draw string inside the pants - when I tie the drawstring, it sort of bunches the pants and catches the top front (I would give it 4.5 stars because its a small inconvenience). Similar to the other slim reviewers, it would be nice to have size 0's in the petites. Other than that I would still recommend these pants because they are comfy, warm, and nicely designed)

Am I a tall or not?
This is my second pair of Athleta non workout pants. I ordered the Park City ... regular and it was too short, so I ordered the tall which has a 35 inch inseam. Those pants are fabulous and just the right length on my 5'8" body. So, with the Dipper ... went right for the tall since the inseam says it's the same length as the Park City ... These pants are really a bit too long. I've washed and dried them in hopes they will shrink and it doesn't seem that they did. I'm not sure what to do. I love the rest of the styling on these pants but they really aren't cut to pool around my feet and that is what they do. I worry that the regular will be too short, and I'm not sure I want to send these back and be without them for a week while waiting on the regular length. I certainly need to wear my clogs or high heal boots with these pants. I may even need to get them altered. They would look very nice if they just sat properly at the feet. I love the little details that set these apart from other pants, the interesting pockets and seaming. I certainly want these pants, I just need to tackle the length issue. Athleta could you please be a bit more consistent with your pants?

These pants have a slightly different cut than the dipper pants I bought 2 or 3 years ago - seems like these have a bigger waist, and definitely longer leg. I am almost 5'8" and although the leg length shrank a little in the dryer, I still have to have the pants hemmed about 1" or so. Otherwise, great pants, I love the styling and will probably buy more even though the fit isn't as perfect for me as the last version of these pants. Nice soft, warm corduroy - cozy for winter.

Great pants -- except for one thing.
I got these pants in the mail the other day and I loved them. They're a great color (I got the purple), they fit comfortably, they are the right inseam length for me, they're flattering, they're warm on a chilly morning, etc. They have just one problem, and that is that the waist closes with one of these totally weak snaps that you guys like to use. So now, bend down to pick up the cat, my pants pop open. Reach for something on a shelf at the store? Pants pop open. Twist around to fasten my seat belt? Snap pops open. It's not that I bought the pants too small, they fit loose and relaxed and they're not muffin topping me. I had this same problem with some cargo shorts I bought from you two summers ago -- and those were a full size too big. It's just that weak snaps do not belong at the waist of active girl pants, even with a drawstring as backup. I can get the cheapest pair of jeans ever and they will at least close with a standard metal button on a shank and stay buttoned. Now I have [$] pants that won't stay closed. I'm going to see if I can get the tailor shop to take out the snap and put in a hook or something. Please look into not using these lousy snaps anymore.

Sadly unimpressed but great customer service
I was really looking forward to receiving these pants, but was greatly disappointed when i finally tried them on. First off, it fit in all the wrong places. It was too tight in the waist but way too baggy everywhere else. The fabric was too heavy and didn't compliment the cut of the pants at all. I have a couple of pairs of regular dipper pants as well as the skinny dipper, which I love, and expected a lot from these pants as well. I can not stress how unflattering they are. The color was horrible also. I should've known, I asked for bronze and sure enough I got a pair of extremely bright, almost florescent, bronze pants. If you're not into heavy, bulky fabric that makes you feel 10 pounds heavier, bypass these and check out the other dipper selections. I'd also like to say, Athleta has great customer service and prompt when dealing with returns and exchanges.

Totally love them!
These ... have become one of my favorites, as I am wearing them TO DEATH. They are perfect for so many activities such as on the boat, power walking, doing yoga, running errands, etc, I think I need to buy another pair as I hate it when it is time to put in dirty clothes hamper.... In particular, I love how lightweight they are and fast drying. And the pockets are perfect so I do not need a purse all the time. I'm getting lots of compliments, even from my hip 81 year old mom. In fact I just ordered her a pair for Mother's Day!! A real winner for sure!!

I really love these ... especially for Zumba!! There isn't a lot offered by Athleta for sports other than running, or Yoga, so I wasn't sure if these would work for Zumba class. Because all the reviews were written by those wearing them to Yoga class, I had nothing to go on and simply took a chance. Boy am glad I did. These ... have the perfect amount of stretch, are lightweight and dry quickly, which makes them perfect for breaking a serious Zumba sweat. They move with you, perfect for dancing. These ... look really cool and are are extremely figure flattering. Love the cinch at the bottom - very convenient, not only for making them fit better, but also because it completely changes the look of the ... get a couple of looks with each pair. The only complaint and it is a small one, is that the drawstring in the waist could really use another 5 inches. It's way too ... have to knot the ends yourself, or else you're constantly losing the drawstring. I'm a size 12-14 and the extra large fit perfect. I have them in Black, Olive, Midnight and they are my favorite ... Zumba.

Extremely comfortable fit
I typically wear an XL tall (= size 14) and these ... fit me perfectly. Fabric is lightweight yet durable; as evidenced on my recent 3 day camping trip in typical Alaskan weather conditions (rain, wind, clambering over rocks, in and out of boats). I paired it with long underwear since it is not a warm fabric, but it dries relatively quickly. Fit is flattering for a large gal like me; I definitely recommend these ...

I love these ...
I bought these ... travel. They are super comfortable, like an exercise ... but look like regular ... first I thought the fabric seemed rather heavy, but on they feel very lightweight. I ordered the olive - it is a nice shade of dark olive. I am 5'6" and 150 lbs. I usually wear a size 10 ... some brands size 8), and am a bit pear shaped. These ... fit perfectly and are very flattering. They fit on the hips, for me - 2 fingers below the belly button - perfect! In bare feet the ... touch the floor, they look great with flats, sandals and running shoes.

Great ...
I bought these ... take on a Disney vacation & ... were awesome. ... lightweight & comfortable. Well made, the sizing ran a little bit smaller than the other brands I usually buy but the fit is great. I definately plan on buying another color.

Truly Perfect with a modification!
I have the regular Bettona "jeans" and bermuda ... Love them both! I was pumped to see a boyfriend style and these did not disappoint! 2 things, though...I found the rise a little lower than the Bettona jeans and shorts...Also, I know the whole boyfriend style with the looser waist and drawstring is the style...however, when I used the drawstring (which is necessary) to make the waist fit as it should, I could see the "bunchy" waistband under my tops. Didn't like that. So, I had the gal who alters my clothes put a couple darts in the waistband to take out that bunchiness while still allowing me to use the drawstring if I wanted them a bit tighter without the bulk. The overall style of these is flattering and looks great with every top I've paired with them (tanks, tee's, hoodies, lightweight sweaters). The fabric may be a bit too thick for summer use, but for 9 months+ out of the year here in the midwest, ... rock! Oh and ... don't wrinkle!!! Perfect for travel (same is true of the entire Bettona line)

I like everything about these ... Love the lightweight fabric.. I wear them for Zumba classes & other fitness activities. I would have rated them higher, but ... just a pinch ... some of the other reviews suggested. I am 5'5" 140 lbs. I ordered a medium, but ... were too long & the extra fabric pooled my lower leg. The medium petites are the size I ended up with & fit well. However, one more inch in length would have been really great.

Not just for the yoga inclined
I'm overweight, and self concious about wearing stretch anything over my backside. That said, I love these ... They are heavy enough fabric that I don't feel like every little cellulite bubble shows, yet soft and lightweight in feel. In fact, I feel like I'm wearing pjs as far as comfort. And yet, they have pockets, useful pockets. So when I go on a hike or a quick trip to the market, I have a place for my wallet, car key, and phone. And did I mention how comfortable they are?

Boyfriend ...
These ... look and feel great - but somehow I missed, in the description, that the fabric is knit, not woven! I was expecting more of a lightweight woven microfiber type fabric, like cargo ... suitable for hiking. I will still wear these ... because they are terrific in every other respect. I do think they are going to snag and pill for some of the activities I would use them for (travel, RV camping, some hiking). However, it is great to have ... w/drawstring ankles that are not capris. It's a look that is hard to find right now but works for me.

Can''t get enough!
Love the Boyfriend ... Fabric is uber comfortable and posses a lush feel that is still lightweight. It feels like I have next to nothing on. I would prefer ... didn't have a draw string, but a waist like my Bettona Bermuda ... would recommend these to all my friends.

Great fit!
These pants exceeded my expectations on all levels. I am usually a perfect size 4, and that's what I ordered. The best part is that the fit doesn't change during the day from stretching out, thanks to the material. In addition, the feel is silky, lightweight and cool. I've worn them hiking, sailing, and any casual wear occasion and they are fabulous - I believe I'll buy in another color. It is great with the Pavitra top

Love them!
These capris are awesome! They are incredibly lightweight and I can see myself wearing them during the summer in 100 degree weather. They are so soft too. I acutally bought one pair and then loved them so much bought another pair. They are also short! Which is another plus for me. I'm 5'1" and usually capris look like pants on me. These end just below my knee and are very flattering. I've tried to get my mom to order a pair because I think she will love them as much as i do.

Love these pants!
These pants are perfect for summer! They are lightweight, yet seem very durable. The fabric is smooth and flattering and doesn't wrinkle. The pants hang nicely. I am 5'5" and 125 lbs. The size 4 fits great! These pants would be great in the asphalt color. I bought the green ones and can wear several different colors of t shirts with them.

In love with this capri!
The fabric is so lightweight but stretchy so it moves with you. I got these with the intention of being a multi purpose ... they do not dissapoint. I loved them so much I got 2 colors - the khaki and olive - but I will likely get the black as well. I can wear them to teach fitness classes, then be out and about without looking like I'm wearing my workout clothes. They're also perfect for wearing as a "regular" casual ... they will probably be in my backpack for our Grand Canyon hike this summer since they are lightweight and dry quickly.

Awesome!
Love these pants. I'm 6'1, athletic build. I have 2 pairs in an 8T...wanted the 6T but felt they were to snug - I like a roomy, hang off the hip fit. These are great, lightweight and I'm looking for another 8T because I wiped out on my bike and put a hole in mine...trying to show off for my 4 small sons! Anyone got an extra...please ! I live in these pants!!!!

Love this super lightweight capri. very flattering, easy to move in - teaching yoga or Silver Sneakers. gets lots of compliments. Are there pants with the same features? may get another pair of capri, just for fun!

New favorite pants!
I'm 5' 7" 155lbs and got a size 6. Fits perfectly and is even a little forgiving around the waist (i had a baby four months ago and need a touch of stretch!). These pants are so lightweight I'm sure they will be my new go to pants.

Get 2 pairs!
I almost never write a review for apparel, but I just received these pants and love them so much I've ordered a second pair in the exact same size/color. That way, if they stretch, fade or just get worn out from overuse (very likely), I will have another as back up. You will not be disappointed with these pants. They are so lightweight, it almost feels like you're not wearing any!

Nice Lightweight Summer ... someone else''s body
Thought I'd give these a hopeful try but I had to return them because I just don't look good in most Capris, having short, big curvy legs. However, I thought they were a great casual sporty ... super lightweight for Summer. I saw some complaints in the reviews about the fabric quality but I think those are unfair--these are MEANT to be made of lightweight technical fabric and I saw no problems with the construction.

Great! Super cute and comfortable!
These are better than I expected. Fit really well, super cute, adjustable with the tie, and lightweight and comfortable. I love that they have stretch! Sun protection too! I just wish they made the same pair w/out any snaps or grommets and with a tie top so I could wear them for combative martial arts. Was looking for a cool pair of martial arts pants and these would be perfect. But in the arts you can't have buttons or snaps. But I love these!

great capris
These cute pants just came today. I was so happy that they came in tall. I am 5'9" and like it that they really are capri length. Often capri pants end up being bermuda shorts for me! The material is very lightweight and stretchy. I think they will be greaat for travel. I bought the dolphin color- a little bit drab but will go with everything. I may get in another color.

hot color/great fit
I love all kick booty styles. This new hot pink color revs up my wardrobe compared to mostly my black shorts and pants.

Great value, love them
I have lots of yoga pants but no shorts, so I ordered these. Love them. I'm 5'4" and 123 lbs. and the small is perfect. I'm short, so they aren't as short as I thought they would be, but that's actually a good thing. (I think the new bermudas would be capris on me!) Other reviewers had said the legs ride up, but mine do not. If they were too small for me maybe they would...I like them b/c they are more cottony than plastic y. Many of my yoga pants (which I like) are more nylon y, and I like the (perceived?) breathability of the more cottony kick booty short.

Showing off my legs
I was reluctant to try short shorts, but the hot yoga class I've been taking is just too hot for pants and capris, so I tried the kickbooty shorts. I was SO surprised! I was totally comfortable in these shorts, they did not ride up at all, and I actually thought my legs (which I seldom expose) looked pretty good intthem. I wore baggy pants to cover up but took the pants off at home and felt very comfortable walking around the house in them,, too. I'm very glad I got these shorts.

Worthwhile purchase
I am notoriously cheap, and because of this am always disappointed in my purchases. I bought these shorts because I wanted something that was flattering, would'nt ride up, and would fit my unique shape. They are a like the top 1/3 of your favorite yoga pants. They land right at 1/2 way down my thight, and despite wearing them all day, they have retained their shape and not rolled up once. Also i know when it comes to rise, some ladies like a super low rise, which doesn't favor those of us who tend to be bigger on the bottom, but the high rise has a 'mom' sort of fit. These have such a perfect rise - about an inch below my naval. High enough to know no booty crack will show, but not half way up my stomach either. Perhaps the best quailty shorts I've ever bought, and I have learned my lesson that perhaps superdiscounted shorts from the clearance area are there for a reason, and I need to start buying more quality like this:)

i purchase one of these pair of shorts because i love the "biker shorts" look......i am 5'8" tall, size 8, 135 pounds and ordered size md. just for reference......all i can say is i love them soooo much i have ordered atleast 5 more pair........and would buy more had they more colors available.....these shorts FLATTER YOUR BUTT, are a nice weight (not too heavy and not too lightweight) , DON'T hug your stomach to the point that you get a muffin top, launder well and especially DON'T ride up your legs when you're wearing them........there are NO cons to these shorts that i've found.......to all the people that said they ride up your legs maybe you've ordered a size too small because i know when i order my racerback tank tops and if they're too small they will ride up my stomach?!........i run in these, walk in these and wear them everywhere and have pulled them down maybe two times at the most in twice as many months.......BUY THESE SHORTS and you will be glad you did (so will your boyfriend/husband)........they make you feel very sexy wearing them!

I already own and love the kick booty pants so I knew I would love the fit of the kickbooty short. I have several capri length workout pants and have been looking for fitted shorts for spin class for summer months. I like shorts that don't move or shift during my workout and these are great. They make my butt look good so that is a bonus!

FANTASTIC!
I was pretty skeptical that these shorts would be any better than any other spandex/compression shorts out on the market, but when they arrived I could immediately tell I was wrong. The fabric is substantial but not hot and the construction of the shorts is fantastic. I typically wear a size 6 in pants but ordered a medium in these because I have muscular thighs and the size was perfect. The leg opening has another band of elastic or something that keeps them tight. They don't ride up when you are running! The waist stayed put, the crotch wasn't sagging, and the rest of the shorts really worked as they were intended. I am casual runner (about 50 miles a month) and these shorts are perfect for those that don't like typical running shorts. Athleta hit a home run with these shorts!

Great
I typically run in a running capri or running ... but I needed a short for a 1/2 marathon I am running in a few weeks in Florida so I gave these a try. These are wonderful, they ensure there is no chaffing, very light weight material, and I LOVE the drawstring. I also wear them to the gym for CrossFit and they fit great under workout pants (cold in the morning) and then once it warms up they really move with you for CrossFit too.

presto pants
i bought these along with three other items to take on my trip to the Caymans. I have run everyday in the Presto pants and they are awesome! No binding, no creeping, no wedgies, no slipping down of the waist, no tightness at the leg ends as my muscles warm up and expand, and they kept me perfectly dry as I sweated in the humidity and heat! The beauty is the reward of looking good and being comfortable walking on the beach to cool down! When I get back to Georgia, I will slip my cell phone in one of the two little side pockets! Who knew they had little meshy side pockets?? Best kept secret! Great for tucking in little treasures!

Perfect!
Have been looking for a comfortable, wicking shorts for my marathon training and was not disappointed with theses pants. This is my 3rd pair!!

Perfect, basic short
Picked up 2 pairs of these on sale recently. I am 5'2" 140 lbs, wear a size 4-6 in most pants, and ordered a small in these. I have muscular legs, and it is always a challenge to find shorts that are long enough to prevent inner thigh chafing, with strong enough elastic that they don't slide up as I run along. These are the ideal length - they come down below the widest part of my thigh but are still a few inches above the knee so I don't look stumpy. And they stay where I put them! As for compression level, I would say it is light to medium. Hubby says they make my rear look good. :)

Perfect Shorts for the Gym
These shorts are really comfortable and they are the perfect length! I use them mainly for a spin/weight combo class and they don't ride up I like the idea of them being 7inches for me instead of 5. I got them in the black and they are pretty lightweight and fit snug so they stay in place. I think they would be fine for yoga also or running.

AWESOME SHORTS!
These shorts were true to size. I'm 5'7 and 160 lbs...usually were a size 12 in pants and I bought a large and they're perfect! I compete in triathlons and duathlons throughout the year and have already tried these shorts for both running and biking...they performed exactly as I had hoped!! No riding up, chafing...covers tummy well...perfect! I haven't worn them swimming yet and am nervous about mesh outer pockets in the water but am hoping for the best...who puts mesh pockets on shorts and then sells them on the "triathlon" page? mesh in the water is usually called a drag suit and slows you down significantly...we'll see...

Perfect
These shorts are the staple of my gym workout wardrobe. They are the perfect length and fit. I ordered size large and I wear size 12 pants.

Great for Running
This short is great for running or a general gym work out. The fit is pretty true to size. I did like the side pocket on the short which isn't shown on the picture. It's a great place to store an i pod, car keys or whatever. The only thing I was a little disappointed in was the material. I wish it had been a little thicker so it didn't feel so revealing. The pants do stay put while running. The shorts are NOT thick enough for biking so don't buy for this purpose.

High hopes but disappointed
I'm always looking for the perfect workout short. Something that isn't too booty short like but not baggy and unattractive either. There were so many good reviews I thought I couldn't go wrong. I'm 5'5 and about 137 lbs so I went with the medium. I do have a "curvy shape" and often have trouble finding pants that fit both waist and hips. Unfortunately, when I put the shorts on they cut into the fat on the back of my legs making my legs look segmented and bumpy. The fabric feels great, the length is perfect but if you have extra "stuff" beware. I'd like to try the large to see if my legs just need a little more room, but I'm afraid the waist might be too large. Too bad, these seem like they could be really, really nice.

My 5'4" frame must be too short for these running shorts. They looked like "mom" shorts, which I own and wear but I wasn't looking for this style for running. Hit lower than mid thigh. Would be cuter and more flattering if shorter. The fit was pretty good. Waist band is flat and flattering. My bottom looked huge in these and I'm 120lbs. Thought they would fit more like my Nike compression pants.

cute shorts, run a little big
I live in a hot climate and run year round, so lightweight running shorts are a must three seasons out of the year. But I also prefer a slighter longer short now that I'm over 40, so these turned out to be exactly what I wanted. I wear a size 2 ... but usually have to size up to a S or 4 in Athleta bottoms. I tried these first in size S and they were too big. I could wear them, but they were very baggy and not too flattering. I exchanged for the XS, which was still a relaxed fit, comfortable but not too loose. These are not actually long, but a bit longer than most running shorts, which is what I wanted. There's plenty of room in the legs, which keeps them from riding up during runs. All my other running shorts are black, so when these went on sale I ended up getting them in 3 colors. The only thing I'm not fond of is the little white design on the leg. It's cute, but a bit more girly that I usually go for. Other than that, I really like them and would definitely recommend them, especially at the sale price. I'd also recommend trying your usual Athleta size and one size smaller to determine the best fit.

My favorite running shorts!
So lightweight and so comfortable. The waist was a little snug so I exchanged the XS for a S even though I wore it out running a few times (thanks to athleta's great return policy!). It fits more comfortable now (i wear shorts between a size 2/4) and I wear these shorts all the time now.

Love these ...
I was hesitant to spend this much for running ... but am glad I did! I have worn them to run twice now and to run kids to baseball practice and errands. They are very lightweight and comfy and actually flattering as well! I hope to get other colors! I am 5'6" and weigh 150 lbs and ordered a large which is perfect coverage without being too big for me.

Lightweight fabulous

These are wonderful
I live at the beach in Florida. And this is an active community. These shorts are perfect for really hot humid weather as they are lightweight, wick the sweat. For myself I would only wear them for exercise, or at the beach or lake. I use them in my kayak at our cabin in Wisconsin also. For me they are too short for anything other than exercise or in the house.

Great running short
I love this short! I had given up on finding a good pair of running shorts. I have two pairs of these. I like the lightweight fabric and the roomy cut. I could probably wear a small (6/8 size) but prefer to have extra room in the medium size. It's great for our hot, humid climate here.

The perfect running short, even for saddlebags!
These are it! Lightweight, panty liner stays put, perfect amount of fabric, not too tight, not too diapery. Me: 47 year recreational jogger, 25miles/week, ... size 10-12, fit but pear shaped. These are more comfortable than the Nike Tempos I normally run in. These do run large: for comparison, the size Medium Hana shorts are within a hair of the same length and width as my size L Tempos. The Hanas are longer than the Athleta Stability shorts. At my age I could still use a tad more length, but they are not indecent by any means. I've bought 5 pairs of these Hana shorts, they're that good. Great price.

Love the ...
I don't normally review items but these ... rock! have trouble finding a running ... absolutely love, and I can't believe how lucky I was to try these Hana run ... length is just right, they are very lightweight, the material is soft and not noisy, they are comfortable, and I can even do boot camp in them without feeling like things are showing that shouldn't. After running 10 miles in them the day after they arrived (no chaffing!) I immediately placed a order for a second pair. I am trying one size smaller this time. I am normally a 4/6 and the medium, although great, is a little roomy, but not so much that I'd return them.

Great running ...
Love these ... have them in 2 colors! Super lightweight and comfortable. I've always run in saucony retro phy ed running ... never thought I'd find another style I like as much but these have convinced me. The foldover waistband is great if you want to adjust the length. My only wish is that the keypocket was a little bigger..

great short
I haven't been buying or running in this kind of short for several years - just didn't think they were that cute anymore. Bought this one in blue on sale and I love it! I received several compliments the very first time I wore it! The fit is good - I buy small is running skirts but meduims in shorts and these mediums were perfect, the design is very nice and the fabric is lightweight. Even the attached panty is designed to fit without being tight and restrictive. My only concern was that at the end of a 20 mile run, the short retained the sweat in the crouch, so much so that they were dripping and felt like I had an accident, but this was not noticable to anyone else. Also, the skin around the waistband was a bit raw after the 20 miler - but this might be from my hydration belt pressing into the waistband of the shorts. All in all - these are great for shorter runs - up to 10 miles.

Perfect gym ...
I am 5ft2in tall and weigh 102lbs. The XS of this ... fit me perfectly. I was looking for lightweight ... provide me with coverage when I'm doing mat exercises at the gym and these ... exaclty what I was looking for. The inner ... made of mesh so the two ... together are are not too bulky.

Just what I hoped for
i am very pleased with these ... am mid forties, average height, a size 10. The Large fits me comfortably, not too loose, not too tight. The inner ... lightweight. ... provide the coverage I want but don't feel as tight as compression ... outer ... just the right length, modest, not manly. I ordered black and grey. Both were backordered for over 2 months, ... black pair came after only a couple of weeks. I think ... little pricey, ... worth it.

Nice

I love ... - outer fabric is stretchy ... lightweight and the inner boy ... has a longer inseam than most. Great for tennis and doesn't ride up!

I like these ... aren't my favorite. The length is great, ... there is something about the inner lining that is keeping me from falling in love with them. ... very lightweight and comfortable though. I would not recommend them if you have larger thighs.

I wasn't really looking for a pair of shorts, but I couldn't pass up all of the awesome reviews for the Breeze shorts. I doubted whether they would be cute with all of the zippers and what not. Pleasantly surprised that they are somewhat cute! Perfect for around the house, running errands on the weekend, and outdoor activities. Very comfortable and lightweight with a bit of stretch, and the drawstring waist makes for a great fit. Olive color is brown.

Love these shorts!
I bought these shorts for wearing at the beach, and they are perfect! They fit perfectly and are lightweight, making them easy to pack for travel. They are perfect for water activities since they dry quickly. I want one in every color!

Very comfortable and lightweight! I am planning to wear these to all of my kids outdoor sporting events in the extreme Texas heat. I think they will also be great over a swimsuit. I ordered a 2 and 4 since I wasn't sure about sizing. The 2 fits the best. I usually wear size small in swimsuit bottoms and yoga pants at athleta. I am 5'2" and 118 lbs.

I bought the breeze short last summer in black & wore them every chance I got! The fabric is lightweight & stretchy & I love the fit! not to low or high & no muffin top! They are a little on the short side, but I expected that as per the description & I have shorter legs so this isn't a problem for me. I am 5"3" and 135 lbs and ordered my normal 8 & they fit perfect! I wore these to the pool. the beach & around town. My favorite thing about these shorts are the zippered front & rear pockets. The front pockets are the perfect size for your iphone & keys in the other. The blue ones are the next pair I am going to buy! Get these shorts, you will love them!

Great summer wardrobe staple
I order a pair of these every summer. They are perfect for those hot, humid summer days and they pack down super small for travel. The fabric is very lightweight and has a fliud drape to it. Normally I wear Athleta pants/shorts in size 6 or 8P (5'3"/135), but because of the fabric I get these in a size 8 because I like them to feel breezy and not snug.

Love this short. I have it in several colors. True to size, but also if you like your shorts a bit bigger as I do, the draw string tie keeps them in place. So lightweight I wear these all summer long in the south

Just bought a pair and love this short! I'm no model, 5'4", 145 lbs, bought a size 12 and they fit perfectly, not too tight, stretchy, soft, lightweight and super comfortable. They don't have a liner, but I bought them more for just wearing out and catching some sun. Going to invest in a couple more pairs.

Super Shorts!
I Love these shorts! The material is lightweight and the cut is flattering. These shorts will be great for everyday wear, but mostly for summer activities by the pool or at the beach. I'm at the beach a lot, so I like to have a pair of shorts to throw on over my suit that are lightweight, attractive, and comfortable. I walk my dogs on the beach, so the pockets come in handy for treats and pick up baggies. They are quick drying as well, so they'll be great to wear on the boat! I'm 5'3" and weigh 120 lbs and ordered a size 4 which fit perfectly, with a little room in the waist. The shorts fall on the hip more than on the waist, which is typically a more flattering look. The color blue is really pretty, but I'm sure I'll be ordering them in other colors as well!

Great everyday shorts
I now own 4 pairs of these shorts in different colors. Needless to say, I like them a lot. They are incredibly comfortable. They are a little on the long side which some people might not like, but I find the length perfect for when I want to run around town comfortably without wearing long pants or capris. You can also roll them once or twice and make a cuff if you prefer a shorter length. All in all a great short! Highly recommend.

Kickit
Sz 4 at 5'9" 136 lbs. Ordered sz 4 in Khakina. Like the color and style. Loose fit but flattering and comfortable for just about any activity. Best bermuda shorts I've found (but I haven't tried the Slick rock). The other styles have flap pockets on the back and these have flat seam pockets. I didn't like the detailed pockets on the Nalu pants or bermuda. In my opinion the best all round bermuda- Kickit.

I love these shorts and I love the nice bright summer color. I bought them because I love my Kick It pants and wanted a pair of shorts. Both the pants and shorts are super comfortable and have great features like lot's of pockets, the inner draw string cord to get the perfect fit and the funky belt loops that add a nice touch of style. The shorts and pants are perfect for everyday wear. I do not use them for exercising since they are made of pretty heavy cotton but on cooler dyays they would be ideal for a walk in the woods or beach. One inconsistency is the sizing. They run generous. I bought the pants in size 2 and they fit just right but size 2 in the shorts was huge so I had to exchange for the next size down. I was worried the next size down would be too small or a little tight but they are plenty generous in the fit. I LOVE both the pants and the shorts. Maybe try a size smaller than you usually wear in the shorts.

AWESOME shorts!
Let me preface this review with "I am not a shorts person!" Yet, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these shorts!!! I ordered the kickit shorts and the skirt thinking that I was going to like the skirt more -but these shorts are awesome! They're comfortable in all the right places! The pocket on the leg adds some character to the shorts and doesn't add much bulk at all (no feared saddlebags). The length is right above the knee. The drawstring is much needed - I love that about a lot of Athleta pants! (I miss it when other pants don't have them!) I purchased 3 pairs I liked them so much - white, olive and blue. I'm a smaller size in the shorts than I am in the skirt (but I think that the waist in the skirt is on the smaller side.)

I am so excited about these shorts! They are made out of a canvas type material, so they are rugged, but stylilsh. I am 5'7" and 135 lbs. I typically wear my pants more 'relaxed' than what the models do in the catalogs, so I ordered a 10 instead of my typical 8 and they fit as I expected them to fit - not tight! My husband loves them on me too!

A white that covers
White pants that don't show your undies? Sign me up! Great fit, nice material. Wish they came out of the dryer wrinkle free, but I am willing to touch these up with an iron. The fabric is definitely a heavier cotton twill, but still very comfy. Love all of the pockets. I am 5'8" 130 and the 6 was a good fit. I usually go with an 8 or a M, so I guess you could say I sized down. Wish they were a tad shorter, and I am tall. I can't imagine these would work if you are petite.

Nice shorts
I have a pair of the Kickit pants and love them. The shorts run bigger than the pants- I wear a size 6 in the pants but had to exchange the shorts for a size 4. The length is OK, could be a little shorter. The material is nice and heavy, good hiking/outdoor shorts!

Snap Malfunction
I love these shorts! They fit really well and the berry color is a great accent. They fit through the waist and there is even a contour from wait to hip that is rare in the fit of pants or shorts these days. BUT....now, these shorts aren't tight, but EVERY time I squat down the snap pops open. EVERY time...Granted, there is a tie at the waistband, but if the waist fits why tie it. I suggest a hook for the waist instead of a snap and the issue would be gone.

Tad long for my taste
Looking for clothing that is packable and functional for a trip to Asia this summer. These were a tad long and a bit masculine for my tatses. I am only 5'1", so the bermuda style is often a bit long on me anyway. I also bought the Breeze Bermuda and those fit me much better - maybe because the fabric was more lightweight so they felt more feminine.

Great for trail running
Love running in skirts, but after having a baby five months ago I needed a new skirt to get back into training with. I love the swagger skirt -- the mesh shorts are super breathable and stay put due to the grippies, the material of the skirt is lightweight and supersoft, the waistband goes high enough to keep my postbaby belly in without being too constricting. I am generous of bottom and it slows nicely over my rear without being too voluminous.Tried it out for a five mile run yesterday and loved it! Ordering a second in another color (I have the asphalt, will probably add black) and getting rid of some other skirts I have that don't fit nearly as well.

Surprisingly Cool & Comfortable
I'm new to the active skort scene. This is my third skort purchase, and by far my best. The silicone leg grips were amazing, and I will insist on them for any further skorts. I have a pretty sizeable rear end as compared to my waist, so this is a little tight just at my butt, and I'm thankful for the drawstring at the waist! I have the largest smart phone I've seen, and I can fit it in the pocket, bigger bonus. I'm 5'3" and about 130 muscle lbs, the S was a good fit. I would prefer the shorts being just a touch tighter - I'd like them more like compression shorts, and I would prefer that they were a little less transparent. Nothing major, but brightly printed underwear do show through slightly - even in the purple color, but only from very close up. I'm in the middle of marathon training this summer and this is lightweight enough for the warmest of days and longest of runs - it doesn't hold in heat at all. I'm so happy, I'm going to get another!

A New Workout Staple
Wow, I didn't think a skirt with a bunch of layers could be so lightweight and not add bulk! This skort is amazing and gives me more range of motion than my other running skirts which tend to restrict a bit when I do lunges. I got it in electric purple, small (5'5" 125lb). It does come up a bit higher than I am used to but that just keeps me from getting muffin top :) Will be buying this in every color!

I love this skirt! It is so comfortable, lightweight, dries quickly (wore it on wet theme park rides and I was the first to dry out), and cute! The mesh shorts underneath are great - I don't think they're see through at all and they're very comfortable and breathable.

absolutely perfect skirt for run/tennis/gym
LOVE. I bought the gray, but want one in every color. Usually wear XS or S in skirts, and XS fits flawlessly. The ruffles are pretty, yet not overdone. Length not too short, not too long. I know some haven't liked the mesh like shorts beneath, but I love them for cardio and tough work outs, and I know I will appreciate the lightweight fabric in hotter months. Love the stay put band around legs- not too tight or thick, and my tennis balls slide easily beneath. Please don't change anything about this skirt!!

Feminine Yet Not Too Frilly
I ordered the Swagger Skort for tennis. The lightweight fabric is cool and comfortable, and the cut allows for ease of movement. The ruffles add a stylish feminine touch. This is a fun skirt to wear for tennis, but I probably wouldn't wear it off the court as I do the Second Wind Skort.

I admit to reading lots of reviews, but this is the first I've ever posted. I love wearing this skort! The fit is flattering and the fabric is lightweight enough for running in our hot summers. The lining is comfortable and does not ride up. Be ready for the number of people who will ask where to find one!

Another great skort from Athleta! This is a great piece to do Spin class, treadmill, elliptical, etc. I will definitely be comfortable running errands in this with a lightweight jacket over my workout clothes. I am 5' 4" and curvy . . . got the small and it fits perfect.

This skort is super cute, incredibly comfortable and so versatile! The shorts underneath are tight, like a bike short almost, but very comfortable and you don't feel like you are wearing your Grandma's skort. I bought this to wear on vacation in Jamaica, but I have already worn it twice; once to a soccer game and once hiking. The material is very lightweight and also pretty. I'm 5'4" and 140lbs, heavier on the bottom, I found this skort to fit well in a M though it is a bit loose in the waist there is a drawstring to correct this.

This skirt is lightweight, yet great coverage. Stylish, yet so wearable and sound to play hard in. I have 3 colors and will buy in every additional color they will have. The new one has a draw string to tighten up the waist which works perfectly... As the waist runs just a slight bit on the large size. Ordered the medium.... 5'7" 150lbs... Size 8.

Favorite workout skirt ever!
I first bought this skirt last year (2011) in black and loved it so much that I immediately went on line to purchase it in more colors and it was completely out of stock! Fortunately it is back again this year and I secured it in other colors. Yeah! I am 5' 3" and 118 pounds and the XS fits perfectly. I thought I would need a small, but the skirt seems to run bigger than normal. The XS was perfect! This skirt is completely unique and very flattering on. It has a couple of layers of material with an adorable shape to the bottom layered edge. I use this skirt for running, hiking, the gym, tennis and pickelball. The material is lightweight and the shorts underneath are mesh so you stay dry when you workout. Get it while you can!

FAVORITE GOLF SKIRT EVER
This skirt is the perfect golf skirt! Flattering, comfortable and lightweight. I NOW have THREE COLORS and hope to have them all soon! The white one is great because it has complete coverage (not see through at all). PERFECT in everyway! Not only for golf, perfect for a nice day roaming craft, food or music festivals.

Just what I was looking for
Love this skirt. It fits exactly right. The length is slightly longer than a tennis skirt so you can wear it all the time without feeling too bare. (Size M - 125 lbs. 5'4") Perfect for traveling because you can wear so many different tops and it's very comfortable. Smooth and flattering fit. It's like yoga pants in a skirt! I'm sure I'll be wearing it constantly this summer.

Nice item
I am 5'6', 145, and have curvy waist/hips. Often skirts and pants that fit on the hips are too big at the waist-- But not in this case. It's a little loose for me, but it doesn't gap like many other garments I have tried. I also like that the waist comes up a little higher, so it stays up on me, doesn't sag and cause my belly to get a muffin top. The length is a little longer so I would feel comfortable wearing this out and about on errands with a pair of sandals, or just as good for a brisk walk or bike ride with athletic shoes. The shorts underneath are a good length. There is a hidden, on seam pocket that would be great for a key or ID, or a little money. I think I will order another one, or two!

Helps me look more like a girl
I've been guilty in the past of only wearing shorts or pants. I found that a skort is a great way to look a bit more feminine. I recently did some traveling on a sailboat. The skort came out of my suitcase wrinklefree and looked great paired with a dressier top. Its been worn and washed a few times since my return and has held its shape wonderfully.

Perfect!
I have waited a long time for a running skirt like this! I am taller, 5'7", and have a wider butt, so regular length running skirts always rode up and looked too short on me. This one is longer to begin with, plus it has an A line shape, making it a perfect fit for someone with my shape! The fabric is great.. feels the same as my favorite Chaturanga pants... and the little zipper pocket on the side is so handy. The sizing feels true, maybe even a little big. I might have been able to size down, but am happy with the size I got. I find I wear this skirt all the time, even when I'm just running errands. I love it!

Perfect sporty skort!
I ordered a 12P, and I love it. The fabric is a great weight to keep you looking smooth, but it's lightweight enough for hot weather. I love the waist line which is just stretchy enough to NOT give a muffin top.

GREAT SKoRT!
I love this skort because I can look "put together" and still be comfortable and get on the floor and play with my kids. I like that the shorts are lightweight and cool. The fit/fabric is as soft and as comfortable as wearing pjs ... but a lot more stylish! I got the tall size, even though I'm only 5'6", so it is an appropriate length for everyday running around with the family. I have it in two colors and will be ordering more. This will work for almost any activity I do...it's my new summer uniform!

Wonderful for travel
I'm 5'6/150. Typically wear a 30-31"/10 in pants. I bought this in a M and it fits perfectly. I really like this skort a lot. I'm looking forward to having something else to wear while being active on vacation - than shorts. The hidden shorts underneath are great. And it looks perfectly classy in black.

Great Skort
Great skort! I like wearing skirts in warmer weather but don't like having to worry about covering up what is underneath. This skort takes care of the problem with the built in pants. Fabric is soft and comfortable. I plan to order another color. Would like to see some spring/summer colors offered.

A perfect fit!
Just purchased this, fit me perfectly. 5'8", 140 lbs, 33" inseam. I have real trouble finding bottoms of any sort (pants, shorts, skirts) that fit, especially with a short waist and long legs, the Med. tall fit perfectly, though a tad loose in the waist. I'll be going back for more!

Cute skort!
This skort is very cute....doesn't make the hips look big! Size is a tad big. I normally wear 6-8 in pants, am 5ft/7in tall, 145lbs. & bought a Medium. I probably could wear a small. Super lightweight....perfect for summer. Fabric is not too thin....just right.

Once again Athleta lives up to its reputation of quality and value. This skort is cut straighter than most I'm used to, but the lightweight fabric moves and breathes beautifully. While there may be other basic khaki skorts out there, this fits like it was made for me and is very flattering. Highly recommend!

Excellant!
I bought 2 of these skirts intially. After I wore them I decided to buy 3 more in different colors. This skirt is so perfect for practically anything you do. The material is lightweight and give that it feels wonderful wearing it. The mesh ... inside the skirt feel nice and comfortable. All around wonderful summer ... would highly recommend this ... Hopefully ... come up with more colors! I'd buy more!

PERFECT!
if there was a skort that you could do almost anything in, it's this one! Very flattering and practical. I tend to feel naked with a skirt but a skort gives me the confidence to wear this any day. The fabric is lightweight, dries quickly, and would be a dream to pack. It has some stretch to it, which makes it perfect even for paddling practice!

I am 5'8" and 155. I ordered the size 10 regular. My figure isn't the most curvaceous, as I've had two babies and am trying to get back to looking like my old self. I have a little bit of curve, but more of a straight figure. This skirt rocks!!! I tried it on to check the fit and don't want to take it off! Some commented on the buckle in the back.... if you are lucky enough to have some curves, then I guess it might be a problem. For me it sits flat and I don't notice it. The ... portion of the skort is so thin and lightweight, I barely notice it's there. On me, it doesn't stick to the skirt. Pockets are perfectly designed with ergonomic like angles. The length it acceptable for work or play. I wouldn't mind a bit shorter, but it isn't too long and frumpy (with my middle finger on my knee, skirt line comes to the middle of my palm).My husband and children love it too!! I am now going to go and order another color. Oh, I got the blue - It's great....not too bright or dull, just right to be completely versatile with about everything I own. I couldn't be happier. This skort will go hiking, to dinner, to the lake....any and everywhere.

Brilliant!
OMG. This skort has reintroduced me to skirts, which I rarely wear. It is worth every penny at full price and I usually stalk the sales. The fit is great, the inner ... so lightweight you don't even know you have them on. Pockets galore, stretch and durability - a real winner. I find myself constantly reaching for this skort! Even the color - Meteor - is a winner. I was expecting a gray but got an almost slate blue greenish skirt. Just a fab color (and I usually default to black). The length is great too - not too ... not too long. It has a drawstring which seems superfluous to me - I never use it, and I can not imagine wearing this to a yoga class. But it's great for just about anything else. I'd buy more colors but ... sold out in my size. I hope Athleta restocks or continues to carry this skort!

I love this skirt. Wear it everywhere. It has some stretch so the fit is excellent. I wear size 4-6 and I ordered a 4.The undershorts are lightweight mesh so very breathable. It's not cheap so I was a little reluctant to buy it. However, I am going to definitely get my moneys worth. Might even spring for another color.

Love this skort!
The hidden drawstring is the key to the great fit of this skort. The material is lightweight and comfortable, and it covers well. Don't be surprised if you need to order up a size so that the ... won't be too tight. I'm on the cusp of petite/regular, and wound up keeping both for slightly different looks. The regular length is perfect for work and running around town, and the petite is cute and casual. One qualm—the buckle in the back, which I may just remove, keeps pulling the back of the waist down.

Very nice skort for running around
The material and construction are very nice. The mesh ... nice and lightweight so it should be more comfortable in hot weather than a lot of other skorts. I am 5' 3 1/2" and weigh about 125. I usually take a size 4 in bottoms. I don't usually wear a petite but I ordered a petite to have the skort hit a little higher. The length is perfect and shows a little leg but still has good coverage for a 43 year old. I don't mind the loop at the back and it doesn't bunch up if you pull the ... up. This may not work for someone with larger thighs as the ... do run a little tight. I like having the draw string since the waist runs a little large. I can pull the drawstring to get a better fit. I do not have a small waist, so I can see how someone with a smaller waist might have a bulge. Overall the skort works well for me. I got the blue spruce color on sale and would love to buy another more neutral color if ... go on sale.

Love this skort!
This is only my second order from Athleta. Earlier in the summer I ordered a swimsuit and was very happy with it, so I wanted to try out some of their clothing. It's hard to find golf attire that's not the same old boring stuff. This skort is perfect! It fits true to size.I normally wear a size 10, and that's what I ordered. I am 5'7", so I ordered the tall- and it's sits just above the knee - right where I wanted. I don't like most skorts because ... run a little shorter than I like to wear. This fabric is very lightweight and the ... underneath are actually more like a mesh fabric- perfect for a hot, humid climate. Their things are a bit pricey but so well made, I dont mind. Other reviewers had mentioned a problem with the buckle on the back waistband- it's just decorative and doesnt bother me at all. I can't wait to order another one in a different color!

Nice skirt
The dipper skort is a fun alternative to my usual ... summer time. The color is true to the picture online. I ordered a size 6 and it is quite roomy compared to other brands. The ... under the skirt are a very thin lightweight material and fit like bike ... skirt itself rides up a bit and gaps at the bottom of the zipper so I have to tug it down occasionally. Great casual skirt
I have two of these skirts - my husband bought me the green (Tapenade) one last year and I bought the Fieldstone color this fall. This is a great casual skirt - very comfortable. I am 5'8", 150 pounds and usually wear a 10 or 12 in jeans/pants/skirts, size M in athleta skirts and L in athleta workout pants. I have this skirt in both a 12 [...] and 10 - the 10 fits much better, so I would say this skirt is very true to size. I can still wear the 12 no problem by just cinching up the drawcord at the waist, it's just a little looser, which doesn't matter that much with this skirt.

Finally for petites!
Love this cord skirt with a great shape! Petite length is perfect for a shorty like me--I'm 5'3" and it hits above the knee. Cord is lightweight, so don't expect this to be superheavy.

Cute Skirt!
I'm in between a 6 & a 8. Purchased both, returned the 8. (My measurements fall right in the middle of the Athleta size chart for a 6 & 8.) This skirt has just enough stretch where after wearing for a couple hours the 8 would be too big. The drawstring is great, I almost wish all pants with stretch had a drawstring. I also wish this skirt came in a chocolate brown.

Cute skirt!
I am 5'5" 112#, 25" waist, 36" hips. I bought a size 2 because I wear leggings under my skirts in the fall and was worried the skirt would sit tight on my hips if I bought a 0. The skirt fits over the leggings fine, but does cling a bit to the leggings while walking, so a silky lining would be nice. It is a little large in the waist and while the drawstring is a nice idea, once you tie it you have this lump at your waist from it being tied. But if you knot it to avoid the lump of a bow, then it's too hard to untie later. I think Athleta would do better to mimic the adjustable waist idea that some manufacturers put in children's clothing, rather than a drawstring. The skirt flares out cute, I personally like the flounce. It makes it different from most of the other corduroy skirts I've seen. It's a nice length. The material is lightweight, which makes it tend to wrinkle easily in the back after sitting. But, it is a very cute skirt for running around town in and quite comfortable. I've gotten several compliments.

so far okay
Ordered an 8 tall in rye as I needed this to cover my knees. One thing you can't see in the picture is that it has contrasting stitching in the same color as the waist fabric. It will limit what I wear it with, but it's not worth returning over. In general, can't wait to wear this skirt. I have short legs, and the 8 Tall hits just below my knees. I usually wear between a 6 and 8 in most brands for low rise pants and ordered an 8 as I tend to wear a 10 in mid rise pants. The 8 fit perfectly despite some reservations. I'm 5'6" and 165 pounds. Need to lose a bit of weight but it's mostly muscle and bone. It is a bit "tight" around my thighs, but I have athletic thighs and no hips to speak of, so I always expect to either have stuff tight around the thighs or loose on the hips. Hope this will become a staple in my wardrobe.

Nice Skirt
This skirt is a very lightweight corduroy. The fabric is nice due to its lack of bulk, but for the full price of the skirt, it seems lacking. I will keep it because I bought it on sale. The style is cute, as it is snug around the waist and hips, and flared toward the bottom. Cute and casual. The plus to having such a lightweight fabric is that I can wear it all the way into flip flop season.

LIghtweight corduroy
I have to compliment Athleta's customer service, which I found to be very helpful. When I first purchased this skirt, I bought the 2P, as I am 5'2" and about 110lbs. It was much shorter than the length listed on the website. When I called the company, I was told that each size has a slightly different length, which I wish they would warn buyers about on their site. However, knowing that, I will, in future, just call to get the exact length of the skirt I am considering. They were very nice about helping me with that and very patient as well, while I tried to figure out what size I needed. The skirt itself is cute and fits well. It is a very lightweight corduroy, which is nice and not bulky. I am glad that I got it on sale, as I think most of Athleta's prices are very high for what you are getting. I think I will be able to wear this skirt in the Fall, Winter and Spring. It will be cute with tights and boots, as well as ballet flats.

Cute but too short!
Based on the measurements given on the website, I ordered this skirt in my usual size, 8 petite. I found it to be too short, especially for the style of the skirt (flares out at the bottom). I am returning it and have re ordered in the 8 regular. Otherwise, I thought the fit was good. The fabric is a nice lightweight corduroy and the cut is cute. I got the brownish color (falcon) and it is very pretty and versatile. Overall I think it will be a great skirt for fall and winter. The reason I gave it four stars instead of five was the measurement issues...and the fact that it's a little pricey for a short cord skirt.

Athleta does it again
I love Athleta's corduroy - and this skirt is a great complement to the cord pants I already have. The corduroy is lightweight and fine. The color of this skirt is beautiful and it fits well, although a slight bit snug around the hips. The length is flattering and will go great with boots and a sweater.

really happy with this skirt
I bought this skirt in black. I am very happy with it. I was concerned that other customers thought it ran really big. I am almost 5'9" about 142 lbs, very athletic, and I have a booty. I am usually a size 6 for dress pants and I went with a 6. It fits perfect. It does loosen up as you wear it, but not so much that I felt it became too big. I think it will go back to original size after I wash it. REALLY comfortable and flattering.

Great skirt, great quality
A great skirt that will fit to everything... will look great with a sweater and boots. Also a very nice quality fabric. I like it that there is a string inside the waist as I always have the issue that pants and skirts fit me in the hips but end up way to loose in the waist. The string takes care of that, but the skirt was not even too loose to start with. I got a size 8 and I am 5'10 at 148 pounds. A size 8 fits great now but I sure can't gain any weight on the hips or it will need to be a size 10... :-)

I love this skirt! I bought it in black and it is super cute. Seems to be running a little bigger than expected. I usually order a size 4 in most banana pants, skirts, etc. This one is a little loose in the waist and I am worried about stretching. I'm going to order a different color in the 2 and see how that fits. Definitely will keep the black but may exchange for a smaller size.

Great everyday skirt
This skirt fits well and is great for everyday wear. It is lightweight enough that it can be worn in the spring and fall. It also transitions nicely to winter wear with the addition of some tights. It pairs just as well with tall boots as it does with Oxfords or sandals. True to size and very comfortable.

Skirts run big
I ordered in an 8, reordered in a 6 and it's still a little too big. Athleta skirts seem to run big! I have had to order a petite large in some Athleta pants and a small or 6 (maybe a 4?) in skirts. Most stores/brands I wear a petite 6 or 8.The skirts is cute!

great skirt
Really soft. Usually wear an 8, but I ordered up 1 size. Athleta brand pants usually run small for me. This was a mistake. Can wear it, but it is too loose after wearing for more than an hour.

Velvet Skirt in olive
I originally ordered this skirt in 0 as I wear 0 in all pants from Athleta. The skirt was way too tight. I revisited this skirt when it was on sale and ordered a 2 and 4 to have the comparison and in case the 2 was still too small. When the skirts came I opened the 2 and it looked kind of big. I compared them with the 4 and there was basically no difference in the hip or waist width. The 2 was a tiny little bit shorter than the 4. I checked if maybe a 4 was put into the bag of the size 2 skirt, but the labels clearly said 2 and 4. Kind of strange. With this said, the 2 feels a little bit bigger than I would have thought the 2 would have to fit, but it is wearable. Could be a little bit tighter in the waist. Tried using the inside tie, but that just tightens up the string, but leaves the waistband wide which then leaves a gap between the skirt and your body. I wear it a little bit lower so that the waistband sits at my pelvisbone which gives me the length being right above my knee, so it's office appropraite. Wore it with microfiber tights and the skirt rides up which is really annoying. Tried with a more silky material pantyhose and it is much better, but still rides up when walking fast (which I usually do). Guess I will wear a slip with it as this solves the problem completely. Would have been nice if the skirt had a lining to begin with. I kept the skirt despite the sizing and other issues, because I really wanted this color (it works with wardrobe pieces I have) and I got it on sale. It is a neutral piece for your wardrobe that can be worn from late summer throughout winter into spring.

Second review after wearing a time or two
So, I still like the skirt, but..... I wrote before I'm between a 4 and a 6 depending on the skirt. I ordered the 6 so it fits my hips, though the waist was a bit big. I figured it would be fine as there is a drawstring. Unfortunately, as the day wore on with the drawstring tied, the extra waistline material in front really 'pooched' out creating an unsightly lump in my mid section, very visible with a thin shirt over the top of it. So I've switched to the 4 and while it's tighter in the hips, it fit nicely in the waist. One suggestion for Athleta is to consider is an inner elastic "drawband" that has various button holes for custom sizing (like toddler pants with adjustable waistbands have). Another little note that might help someone, I have the black and the material picks up lint. Hope this helps!

Pretty but questionable quality
This is a cute skirt - right length if you want to wear casually and to work because it's right above the knee. The problem is the snap fell off the first time I put it on. Definitely going to return and may exchange and see how it goes. I don't know why Athleta uses snaps instead of buttons so much. It's been a problem for me before with hiking pants. Size 4 fit perfectly, which is my usual Athleta size for pants and skirts. I'm 5'6", 125 lbs, hourglass.

Loved it, little too much booty.
I was really excited about this skirt but found it to be quite exposing in the backside. I do have a bigger bum but am generally a 4 or a 6 in pants. I ordered the 6 and the fabric was really visibly stretching in the back. It just wasn't very flattering on me. Sigh.

Nice fabric
I like velvet and this looks good with leggings and my Ugg boots. The waist runs large and the fabric gaps a lot in the front but I was not able to find another I liked better. Overall, I am never impressed with Athleta skirts although I love the pants and vests. I always have problems with skirts as well as their dresses. Much of it is that the side seams often do not match because they are sewn crooked in the factory.
