medium impact sports tops - reviews

Better than expected!
I was unconvinced with other reviews saying there was enough support to wear this without a sports bra. I am only a 34/36 A/B and I never find "built in" control tops to meet the mark, but I was shocked when I got this and tried it on. It really does hold them in and cover well, without being so tight it would be hard to breathe. I haven't tried running in it yet, but I think it works more than enough for Yoga, Pilates, and other gym activities withou a sports bra. I'm 5'3" 142lbs and generally wear a Medium (size 6) comfortably. The medium fits great. I will definitely buy in another color!

Love this shirt!
I have been practicing hot vinyasa yoga for the past six months and have been on the search for good clothes to wear. I love this ... I'm a 34C and sometimes experience some "spill over" in down dog in tops with built in bras. I was worried that the V neck in this shirt would cause a problem, but it was fine! I didn't have to worry about the ladies and the seaming is very flattering. I love the way the back looks. The material feels substantial and I'm not afraid of ruining it by accidentally scraping against something. I'm planning on purchasing it in more colors. I'm 5'2", 125 lbs, and am usually between a small or a medium in most brands. I originally ordered a medium and it was too big, but the small is perfect.

best tank- flattering too!
this is my all time favorite tank from Athleta- i wear the medium for a little more room in the waist and chest area. pads are great and add to the flattering factor! i don't like the waist area to be tight and the medium fits great. back detail is great too. i have 5 of these! wear for everyday too. thanks athleta! maybe prints in this one too?!

Good ...
THANK YOU, Athleta, for offering a ... removable bra inserts. The extra coverage is MUCH appreciated! This ... good for sweaty activities -- hot yoga, spin class. The support is medium, the length is slightly long (a good thing), and the fabric is a medium thickness, but good at wicking. It runs TTS with other Athleta tops; at 5'7" and 123#, the XS is a good fit.

These are the best!
I have 4 Equator Tanks now and I think they're the best! Great support (I'm a 32 D) and I wear them to Core Class where there is a lot of jumping around doing various exercises, throwing tires, burpees, TRX - I never feel like anything inappropriate will be seen. I'm 5'4, a 4 or 6 on ... usually get it in a small but the last time bought it in a medium, both fit great, obviously the medium was a little looser but still had great support. The only thing I wish is that they varied the color options more, hire me and I'll help you with your spectrum! Thanks again Athleta!

Gorgeous ...
Another favorite! It's really comfortable and I get tons of compliments on this ... first I ordered the clear blue (color is gorgeous) in a medium but ended up exchanging it for a small in hotter pink (they were out of the clear blue). Hotter pink is a great color too. My only concern with the medium was that my chest was sliding forward during inversions. It wasn't a big deal but I'm not comfortable with cleavage showing. I got the small and it did took care of the problem. It is a little tighter than I'm used to, but it's fine. Over all, this is a beautiful ...

Super ...
I bought this in one of the sale summer colors along with the capris and it is definitely a keeper. I am 5'5", 128 pounds and a 34D. I bought a medium. MAYBE could have gotten away with a small and had a little more chest support that way? But the medium is fine. I can wear it biking, walking...not enough support for running or more involved cardio. It promises "medium" support and that is exactly what it delivers. I wear a sport bra of similar colors underneath when I'm more active and I think it looks cute. The fit is very flattering. I tried on a similar C9/Champion ... know...I know...discount store...totally different price point) and I had fat bulging out of places I didn't know existed! Just saying that you get what you pay for! And this ... worth it!

LOVE THIS ...
I read all the review on this ... before ordering and everyone recommended going down a size as it ran large. I'm 5'3" and 110 lbs and I don't like my tops super tight. I would normally order a medium but ordered a small because of the reviews. It was like a second skin! Horribly tight. I returned for a medium and it's perfect! I love this ... either remove the pads before washing or tack them in as suggested in other reviews. Its nice to not have to worry about wearing a sports bra as the pads take care of any coverage needed. Not enough support for aerobic activity, but perfect for yoga. And the back is super cute!

Salivated over it, now sweat in it!
The equator tank was a ... would drool over every time a catalogue came. Finally, I snagged one in white during a recent sale and I'm so glad I finally succumbed! I wore it for a strength training session with my personal trainer (though I bought it with the intention of long summer rides) and it worked perfectly. I felt like I was a little exposed while doing my dead lifts, but nothing compared to what some people wear to the gym. My trainer even commented on how cool the back is and how it shows off all the back work I've been doing - score! I usually wear a medium in Athleta tops and this medium fits perfectly.

Inconsistent Sizing
I bought the Equator Tank in the fall in purple in a size medium. Love it! Very flattering. Purchased it in black in a medium and it is too big overall. I will reorder it in a small and hopefully it will fit.

Odd fit
I thought this tank was adorable and after reading the reviews ordered it in both a small and a medium. I am 5'7, generally wear between a small and a medium in tops. I am busty (36 D) with a smallish frame. Well, this ... cut about as wrong as possible for my body type. The small was way too tight everywhere and was also really short in length. The medium belled out over my waist and gaped open at the side of the bust. It was also very short in length. So, I would recommend this for petite string beans!
