My new favorite ...
GREAT ... got the Indigo & the color is so pretty--almost a periwinkle blue. The material is wonderful; super stretchy, soft & comfy. Ordered this for an upcoming vacation; I wanted summer clothing that was versatile, would travel well & stand up to heat/humidity. The Solid Tee Maxi ... perfect! I'm very out of shape due to a recent injury, & to my horror NONE of the summer clothing I had fit me--yikes! I'm 5'9", about 20 lbs overweight right now (wear a size 8-10/M under normal circumstances), full C cup & hippy/pear shaped with a lovely new stomach bulge--yay, aging! Had no idea what size to order, so I whipped out the tape measure & went to the size chart. On top I'm a Large, but my wide hips make me an XL on the bottom. After reading reviews about the "drapey" fabric, I went ahead & ordered the XL & I'm glad I did. The fabric DEFINITELY drapes, so I'll be wearing Spanx underneath to smooth out my lumpy parts. (If you don't have lumpy parts, the drapey effect will look great.) The top & shelf bra could be snugger, but that's because of my out of-proportion body & not the cut of the ... Suprisingly, I could probably even get away without a bra--the shelf bra & soft bra cup inserts are amazing & give me shape/light support (& I have droopage issues); if this were a Large I DEFINITELY wouldn't need a bra! Overall a very flattering, comfy & versatile a line maxi ... & the front stitched pockets make it interesting. My husband loves it too, which is a huge bonus! And it's so well made, I'll be able to take it to a tailor once I get back into shape. I'll be wearing this ... LOT--over a bathing suit at the beach, running errands, hanging out, going out, & even with a wrap & boots in the winter!
Great ...
Love the fabric, cut, and design. I tried the black, berry, and indigo. The black shows less of a panty line. This ... fits smaller than the printed maxi ... LOVE the molded cups- this whole no bra think is pretty sweet (especially when it does't flatten me out). Now... to just decide which color to keep. Much too spendy for more than one.
A favorite in my closet
I first bought this ... print and fell in love with the fit, the comfort, and the handy pockets that are built in. When I had to return a different ... discontinued, I chose to order another one of the t shirt ... black instead of getting a refund. Now the t shirt ... Rio Maxi ... main staples of my closet, and I rotate between the various colors and prints each day. Comfort and class all in one! And they just plain ol' look great on me. I am 5'10", wear a size 10-12, 36C and wear the Tall Large in this and the Rio Maxi. I don't have to wear a bra with them either, especially the t shirt ... Plenty of coverage and support.

Comfortable and versatile
I got the solid tee ... black. I am 5'6 and 126 lbs and ordered it in a size small. The length was at my ankles. It is very comfortable and flattering to the figure without being skin tight. I read reviews about the pockets making hips look big. To be honest I can't tell the pockets are there unless I am using them. (Perhaps the pockets are more noticeable in a lighter shade.) It's definately a wash and wear ... which is wonderful for a career woman and mother of 2 young children. I fell asleep in the ... other night. When I woke up the next morning it still looked great (no wrinkles). And yes, it was very comfortable to sleep in! The material is wonderfully soft. I have been wearing this around the house and on errands. However this ... can easily be ... up for an evening out as well. I will certainly buy another in a different color or print!
Love It
I think this dress is flattering and true to size. Very simple and classy, great length (I'm 5'6). I found it to be more fitted than the Printed Maxi Dress, so you might want to keep that in mind when choosing sizes. Also, if you found the printed dress to be shapeless, you might like this better. This one hugs curves and highlights your figure, while the printed dress is "easier" and better to wear if you're bloated (ha). I have a 25" waist and didn't have the problem another reviewer had with it being too large around the middle. The waist in the XS fit me nicely, neither baggy nor tight. Like the printed dress, the neckline was too low cut when I put my breasts in the shelf bra. I plan to remove the shelf bra and wear a racer back bra instead.
finally a ... fits!
I am 5'4" and thin and nothing ever fits length or width wise...Finally a ... works. Athleta is great finally someone who carries clothes for me. love it, only wish there were more print options...A slit in the future for a ... length would be great.
Almost right
I loved the fit of this ... chest area, but the waist and butt were too loose and it made me look frumpy. It didn't hug my curves in the right areas. I returned it, which is too bad, because I love the color and material of this ... too.It's hard for me to find a ... fits just right and has a cute print. I'm a slender 5'8" at 140.
I Wanted This Dress
I wanted this dress so badly that I decided not to wait and see if it went on sale. I have 2 of the printed maxi ... Athleta and absolutely love them. I thought a solid black ... would be perfect. Unfortunately, this ... did not fit the same way as the printed versions. I wear a size 12 and the Large fits me like a glove in the prints. The solid color ... too big in the bust and underarm but too tight in the stomach and hips. I am so dissapointed to send this ... back. I won't even reorder it in a XL because the bust would be way too big.
