puffer jacket - reviews

Cute spring ...
I bought this ... grey and love it. It seemed a little loose for me in the chest so I cinched it in a little and also cinched in the the hem at the bottom of the ... smaller fit. It is very lightweight so it is perfect for the changing seasons. I wear it to work, around town, and to yoga class at night. I love the ruching and the big buttons. So happy with it!

the perfect ...
I've had this ... larger size and loved it but wanted it in a smaller size. It is the most perfect ... ever and so stylish - very flexible to wear with anything.

Finally found the perfect rain ...
This ... perfect fit and perfect weight if you're looking for something lightweight for everyday use. I can use this 1 ... all year round and has ample room to layer if necessary but is mostly warm enough for Calif. weather. The grey with the blue details is so cute and looks classy on.

Perfect Light Everyday ...
I bought this rain ... because I'm perpetually cold and wanted a light ... commute in. It's a nice lightweight ... also serves as a rain coat. I can wear it in the morning when it's cooler or rainy and then ball it up in my bag for the commute home. The roll away hood is also a nice feature. My favorite thing is the length. It is nice to have something that comes down to just above my knees. When the wind whips up the rain it really makes a difference. My last thought is on size. I'm petite and thought that there was no way I'd fit into an XXS so I ordered an XS. I was swimming in it. Athleta did make the return very easy so I was happy to exchange.

REALLY LIKE THIS ...
I've been watching this ... while, debating after reading some of the reviews, decided to give it a shot..... SO glad I did, this ... soft, very cute, versatile either dress down as well as up..... I decided to go with the gray, glad I did it looks Very Cute on, I like the attention paid to the small details, rouche and small pleating.... I'm strongly leaning towards getting the black trimmed in pink, also..... I'm 5'7.... About 146lb, kind of busty, and long arms.....I ordered the medium and it fits perfectly and I personally find the fit quite flattering! This ... sure a True Staple item!.... I gave it 4 stars, because I haven't worn it in the rain yet, to determine whether it's water repellent/water proof.....

Cute, but...
This is a a very cute ... interested in a raincoat, and though advertised as water resistant, it did not seem to be. It also was not a great quality ... price, the material is very thin. Fit was fine other than the bust area being a bit tight (5'6",138 lb. , Size M). I loved the cheerful pink color. If you are looking for a very lightweight ... throw on, this would be fine. I returned mine due to the tight bust, the lack of rain protection, and the fact that it seemed the one sent had already been worn, perhaps washed.

Love it!
I loved the look of this ... soon as I saw it in the spring catalog - I wasn't surprised to see that it's a difficult ... get. I snagged an XS when I saw it become available. I'm 5'2'' and 115 pounds and the ... little big in the body of it but I like it so much - I'm keeping this size. The arms are pefect length and you can tighten the chest part with a cinch cord. Looks to be good quality and love grey color with the pink accents. It does have more of an A line/poofy shape at bottom but I love the look. Can't wait to wear it this spring to and from workouts and standing out at the kids soccer games.

So sad that this ... nicer on model
I have wanted this ... some time and finally ordered it. I got a small as I am usually between an XS and S in Athleta (I am 5'5", 110-115 lbs) however, it fit well in the top, but the bottom part of the ... just too puffy/ balloony. It doesn't fall nicely like it looks in the picture on the model. I am returning it and not planning to try an XS as I think it will be too snug up top. The styling and detail are very nice, I think this will work if you are very tall and slender and can wear the XS or XXS.

Runs big, but good casual look
Like other reviewers I think this ... just runs big compared to other Athleta sizing. I am 5'6", 170 lbs. and got the Medium. Probably could wear a Small, but since the fabric is so thin, I figure I'll be able to wear plenty of layers under it. Length is mid thigh. Sleeves a little long. I love the blue gray color, the big buttons, and the shirring. I normally love all hoodie styles but I didn't care for the look of this ... hood unrolled. The hood can be stowed in the collar and I much prefer that look. I am not a fan of the bright teal lining either, but with the hood stowed away you can't see it. A heavier lining would make the ... lie better on the body. It's stylish, fun, and looks good with leggings and a colorful scarf. No velcro is a big plus. A keeper.

Fabric not as expected - very lightweight and odd fit
I really wanted to love this ... just could not. The fabric was ultralightweight and looked flimsy. I was expecting a more structured ... ordered a small when I am normally a medium based on other reviews that recommended sizing down. The small was still on the large side but overall the ... just a very frumpy style and unflattering. The button loops stick out and look odd as well.

the good and the bad
After trying on this ... just once, I am undecided. At 5.7' 158 lbs. the medium is a perfect fit for me. The good: I really like the lightweight, soft material and button and ruching details. If traveling with it, it would pack really easily and could be dressed up or down for an all purpose ... bring along. The bad: The shock cords, while I feel like I was able to adjust the ... fit great, I did not like the extra loop from the cord hanging on both sides of my hips and the contrasting color makes it even worse (I got the black/pink). The strangest thing about this ... shock cord below the chest is adjusted from the middle of your back and is on the outside of the ... haven't tried to sit with it on yet, but I would think that the shock cord and plastic mechanism would make it very uncomfortable to lean back on. It almost makes it seem like it is a defect to have it hanging out the back. I wish I wasn't the only one to mention this in a review. Maybe it is a defect? When it is adjusted the loop sticks straight out. I will try it on a few more times before deciding on whether to return.
