skirted swimwear - reviews

Great color and great fit
I bought this shirred ... chartreuse, along with the other bottoms and tankini in the Banzai Pipeline series. All the bottoms fit perfectly. I ordered the entire series in extra small; and the fits were spot on perfect. I am very petite in weight and height; and it is great to be able to find such a wide selection of swimwear in petite sizes. Good quality of all the pieces in the collection, too.

Great bottom
This ... perfect! Loved it - great color and great fit. I'm short so a skirted bottom can be tricky and this one is perfect!

Fabulously Happy
I am preparing for a trip to Aruba and I just received my new swimwear. I couldn't be happier! At 52 carrying 137 pounds this bottom is fabulous. I was looking for something that was comfortable and attractive and this is it. The fit is perfect ... better than I expected. I also bought the scrunch bikini top and it is wonderful as well. I will continue ordering from Athleta.

Another great purchase!
When it comes to swimwear, I find I always have to get a medium bottom, but in this case, I found it was too large, overall, and had to exchange it for a small. The small fit perfectly and it's so cute an versative. I bought it in black and can wear it with a variety of my other bathing suit tops -- it goes well with everything. It allows a little extra coverage than a standard bikini bottom and is very comfortable.

Perfect coverage/not frumpy
I absolutely love this skirted bottom! I'm 45 so I like a little coverage for my bottom but dislike many skirted bottoms that are either too long, ill fitting, or just plain too frumpy looking! This bottom is shorter than most (11 in) but on my 5'8" and 127lb frame, it looks great. May be a little short if you're wanting to cover bigger thighs. The waist is slightly shirred so it has a slimming effect and the ... has just the right amount of fabric. I'm usually a size 4 bottom and thought a small would fit well but I took my measurements and followed the size chart on the website and the extra small fits perfect! I got the scrunch bikini top to match and it looks really nice in asphalt! Great value for the quality and fit!

Great ...
I bought this in two colors (sangria and black) this season to go with tankini tops. I'm not 20 anymore, so I like the coverage this gives me without making me look like an old lady. The fabric is beautiful (all my Athleta swimwear seems to last forever and look great!) and I like the style with the front crossover flap and tiny bit of shirring on the waistband which is not just plain, but interesting and yet simple. The inside is fully lined with lime green fabric. I like that it fits securely, but the "waist" doesn't make bulges on my not-20-anymore had-4-kids hips. I'm 5'5", 120 lbs, and I fit a size 6 in Athleta pants. I usually go up a size on ... bottoms and the medium fit me perfectly.

Great Fit and great for my ego
Love this swim ... am a classic pear shape (size 4 on top and size 6 on the bottom). So, I usually have to buy separates in swimwear so I can get different sizes AND whenever I buy ... bottoms and other pants that are sized S, M L, that need to fit the "hip" area, I always buy a Medium just to be sure they will fit nicely (not too tight). Well, after reading many reviews on this ... VERY hesitantly ordered a Size Small hoping that I wouldn't have to return it for a Medium (and being concerned that a Medium wouldn't be right either because of my 23" waist!) I was VERY HAPPY when I tried this swimskirt on and it fit almost perfectly! The only thing is that I can see a little of the panty line ... but I'm sure once I tone up some more, that issue will be resolvedI I also wish Athleta prices were a little more affordable ... I would surely order more items. I will definitely be a return customer, though!

great ... bottom option for "mature women"
I'm closing in on 50, and have had to reevaluate my choices in swimwear. Up until now, I've always felt comfortable in 2 piece suits, but reality hits, and I wanted to find a suit that was more age appropriate without being "matronly". These bottoms are perfect. They provide nice coverage over the backside and upper thigh areas! Great fit, flattering and sporty. I usually wear a size 4/6. Smalls fit good.

This skirted bottom is pretty much exactly what I was looking for. It covers enough but not too much, and I'll be more comfortable poolside in Vegas wearing this than I would in regular bikini bottoms. They sit a little higher than I would normally like, and maybe are a tad big (I'm 5'5", 125 lbs with most of that in my hips, and I ordered a small) but I'll keep them. I bought the matching rouched tankini, and might be back for a regular bikini top too. Not sure how I feel about my tummy yet.

Not for swimming....
When I tried on the suit, I thought it was great, if a little long in the ... & top - But when I tried to swim in it - Forget it - The ... WAY too long for hanging in the surf; I can't even imagine what it would be like to actually swim in it - I'm hoping my mom can shorten the ... maybe the top - It all felt a little too "matronly" for me - I love the coverage of a skirted bottom as long as it's tiny - I wish it wasn't so hard to find! (My friend said, "It's nice for a dress...." If I hadn't already worn it to the beach, I would return it.....
