skorts - reviews

Love this ...
I've had one of these skorts for three or four years, and it's my favorite in a whole rodful of skorts in my closet, so i was really glad to see a new, brighter color this year. The piece is great for travel, since it doesn't wrinkle (or hangs right out if it does get a wrinkle in the suitcase), and the longer length makes it good for sightseeing in places that shorts or shorter skorts would not be appropriate. It can go for a hike in the morning, visit a church in the afternoon, and dress up with sandals for dinner. It comes out of the dryer ready to wear, and the fit is both comfortable and flattering. (I'm 5'6, 124 lbs, and the 4 is perfect.) I keep hoping Athleta will offer it in a medium or dark blue.

Whatever ... - Perfect for whatever I do
First of all - I love the Whatever ... now have 4 of them and will be buying at least one or two more to complete my color palette. Skorts have been my "go to" clothing item in the summer and when I travel. Comfortable, cool and modest. This past May I traveled internationally and purchased two Whatever skorts before I left...I pretty much wore nothing else for the 9 days I was away. If I needed to wash them a quick rinse in the sink and then by morning they were dry and wrinkle free. After getting back from vacation I was hooked and purchased 2 more Whatever skorts, and have pretty much worn nothing else this summer. They are perfect for weekend errands, hikes and even bikes and then can be dressed up to wear to go to dinner at night to a nice restaurant. They fit great and are just so incredibly comfortable...as I said...Love the Whatever ...

Perfect!
I have 6 Whatever skorts. They fit and wear beautifully and they seem to be the only thing I wear lately. Fortunately, where I live and travel, I will be able to wear them nearly year round. At almost 5'2" and 102 lbs, I can wear either a regular 2 or a petite 2. The skorts are a tad big in the waist but who cares? They have a draw string if I want to wear it at the waist or I simply pull it down to my hips. Then the ... either at the top of my knees or about 1-2" above. No problem! So far, I've had 2 women at the mall ask me where I bought my skorts as well as several friends. I hope they, too, buy and enjoy them. I know I will nebver be without this wonderful garment.

Fabulous lightweight ...
Athleta really hits the sweet spot with this fantastic ... Many skorts tend to be heavy and bulky because of the shorts underneath the skirt, but the incredibly lightweight fabric and well cut shorts allows the outer fabric to hang smoothly, without any bulking or bunching. There's even an inner drawstring so the fit of the waist can be custom adjusted. The skirt is fitted in the hips and begins to flare at the upper leg, creating a beautiful, flattering silhouette and a nice swing when walking. Two welt pockets in the back provide a place to stash keys and money. The colors are gorgeous and the detailing is very nice as well. I bought three of these skorts after a hot spell in the northeast, and the lightweight fabric was a blessing on our 80-degree days. Best of all, the sizing is very true to standard--I wear a size 12, and lo, the size 12 actually fit! I'm 5'10" and generally weigh 155-160, and the 12 was perfect. I ordered the tall because of my height, and the skirt falls to the knee. My hat is really off to Athleta for this marvelous skirt, and I hope they continue to carry it for years to come.

I still love these skorts
With this order, I now have 6 of the Whatever skorts. I just love them. I am a boomer aged woman who likes fashion but I sure want to look appropriate for my age. These skorts allow a great look that can go with sandals or ballet flats and all kinds of tops. Great for travel on hot days and can go from day time to evening with a change of shoes. As I like more coverage when I hike,I wouldn't wear one for that, but it could be very comfortable for those who don't mind exposed legs on the trail. I highly recommend these skorts.

Love the Whatever ...
I just got my Whatever Skorts and am totally happy with them. I was looking for a ... would be long enough to wear from day into evening or from suburb into city, and this fits the bill. Skorts are a great alternative to shorts especially for those of us "aging boomer gals."I like the length - I am 5'3 1/2" and they hit right in the middle of my knee - long enough to cover for non sporty events but short enough to be "kicky." The fit is great. It has an inner drawer string that is not really needed. The fabric is light weight for the hot weather and should pack very well. These skorts will get quite a lot of use from me. Excellent quality, too.

Some inconsistency in sizes - but still the best ...
I've got a half dozen of these skorts, most in size 4, my usual pant/short/skirt size. In my most recent order, one of the skirts (the boysenberry one), the waist and hips were significantly smaller than the other. Both were also smaller than the ones I've bought before, but the bigger of the two is actually a good fit still since the size 4 is ordinarily comfortably loose on me. But even with this variation in size, these are the best skorts I've ever owned. I'm athletic but at 62 years old, I appreciate the longer length and graceful, not tight, fit. A forgiving style for those of us not into the skin tight styles that are so common elsewhere.

Disappointed
I bought 2 of these skorts and returned them after washing because I experienced a pilling (like a swimsuit) in the same spot on both skorts. The sales associate said no one else had reported this problem. Due to the location of the flaw, I think my seat belt was rubbing it. Loved the way it fit! I have hips and this ... fit great. I am trying one more time before I give up on this one. I'm also trying another ... thicker material.
