Great ... suit! Returned for another color.
I bought these in the Chartreuse (yellow) and I loved the way they fit! I have an apple ... these cover everything just the way it should on a 40 year old! Still cute, but not reveiling too much. The color (Chartreuse) didn't really bother me, it seemed to have a tiny bit of green in it, which muted that bright neon yellow. I did end up returning the entire suit because the tops that I bought to match these bottoms didn't fit right. I DID like the bottoms a lot, and decided to buy them in the Otter color "brown" to match another bikini top that I already had. I am 5' 2" tall and I weigh about 135 pounds on a good day. :) Hope that helped! I would like to add one more thing. I would love for Athleta to put out a few more coupons for their frequent buyers and/or the buyers who give detailed reviews. Thanks!

good coverage
I have a few of these athleta swim bottoms (black, white & purple). Although the little swag of fabric at the front may bother some, it is well placed, better than in years past (imo). These bottoms cover well but are still sexy, a lot sexier than wearing a too skimpy bikini ... have usually gotten a size M ( for example: I wear a size 4 at Express, size 2 at Loft), which feel a little loose, but stay on pretty well. I think the small would be a bit tight - too bad there are no "between sizes" or a numerical sizing system, but otherwise I think these are great, versatile and perfect for mixing and matching w/ other ... patterned swimwear of similar fabric type!
Perfect ...
I listed that i recommend these for "low impact" only because i don't play sports in my bathing suits! I'm basically hanging out at the beach or pool w/my family, not running around. For this reason i don't know how these would apply to higher impact activities. I ordered this beautiful blue wave color to go w/a printed paisley wrap tankini top and they fit/look great! I'm a size 2-4, the small is perfect. The little fold over detail at the waiste is just enough to cover my little "pouch" after having 2 children.I recommend a ... w/printed top to break it up a little. Highly recommend!!!

Ordered this to match a tankini top i bought this season. As expected the color palate is a perfect match (the original bottoms I ordered were a pattern and I was looking for a matching ... True to size...heed the muffin top warnings, and if on the borderline, size up.
Perfect Swim ...
I already had the matching top in berry swirl, so I bought the corresponding ... same color. The color is a perfect shade of purple for my taste. I really liked the coverage on this swim ... - very tasteful. It has some extra fabric to cover my mommy tummy.
I like this ... but....
I bought this ... last year. It is flattering, but I always felt like the elastic in the leg was too loose, so I don't think it would be good for being active. I bought a medium. I'm 5'5" around 120#. I prefer the fit of the ... Shirred Full Tide ... , the Shirred Medium Tide ... Clean Banded Full Tide ... better. All of these work for me in medium. I ordered several bottoms this year, and have decided to return this one, due to the looseness in the leg. The Neptune Green is really nice.
Fits well, true to size. I am a ... between medium and large. Purchased the large, and not disappointed. Love the color!
Great Bottoms
These are great swimming suit bottoms. I was choosing between these and the clean banded full tide bottoms. I picked the clean banded mostly because I don't really like things on my swimming suit bottoms. One note about the color though - the gloss pink is very bright.
Matching bikini ...
Nice fit, perfect coverage for the front and rear. I found a cute ... match my Athleta bikini top that can almost hide the baby stretch marks around my mid section. Its flattering and the solid color does not bring attention to the area I don't want notice. I chose a small and the fit is fine.
So So Swim ...
This ... quite nice, but had a strange detail in that the shirred band of the swim ... only attached at the sides - it was strange. You could put your hand in between the shirring and the rest of the pant. Difficult to explain and I would be constantly tugging at it to reposition it, so I returned it. Also the color in the catalog looks like a terra cotta red and this is a candy apple red color in reality.
