My go to bathing suit
I am thrilled with this tankini. It has the most support and coverage of all my tankinis and I will use this one for swim lessons for my kids or anywhere I need to be more modest. It does have more material than the others I purchased, but it just feels solid so I don't have to worry about slippage. I am 5'5 130 lbs and the medium fit very nicely.
A suit to love
After ordering the Emerald bay Racer back tankini and finding it too big, I ordered the lifegaurd red Shirrendipity halter. I love it!! The color is very flattering and it is just the right fit. I am 42, 135lbs and 34d. The med was just right. The shirring along the sides is just enough to cover any minor tummy bulges but not look like you are "trying" to cover anything! the halter is just the right coverage without being vulgar. I am going to wear it with the Emerald Bay reversable med tide bottoms. The colors work great together. I am thinking that I may need to order at least 1 more color in this top because I love it so much!!
Figure Flattering, Well made
I ordered the Halter Tankini and Not so string Bottom. I wear a DD bra and the Tankini does excellent job of giving me support yet, very flattering. The Otter color looks taupish online, but should be called Espresso or Cocoa to give a more accurate indication of the dark brown color it is. The suit has a nice lining and I am going to order this in white too. I have small hips and bottom so the Large is a little too big. Overall I am very happy with the high quality of this suit that I'm sure I will have for the next 5-10 years!
Great top!
I first bought this in otter in size xs. It was too loose in the belly area, but good in the chest. I'm 5'4", 115lbs, 34C, athletic. Plus, the otter color is NOT what it looks like in pics. It's chocolate brown all the way. I'm not mad though, I like brown :-) I didn't return it---but I gave it to my mom, and she ordered bottoms to go with it. I kept the notsostring bottoms and top and ordered the white halter in xxs. It fits great! Slightly snug in the chest, but it is fine and not too much cleavage. I plan to wear the white top with capris, and I also tried it on with the black and otter (brown) notsostring bottoms and swim skirts I have and it looks good with both colors/styles. I may get another notsostring bottom in a color to go with it since I'm not sure I want a white bottom....I highly recommend this top for style and fit---if you're slender, keep in mind it will be roomy in the belly!
Love this top!
I had this top with the oceanside shorts in a gorgeous bling blue and was devastated when the color got bleached out when I wore them in a hotel hot tub. The pair makes a great suit, providing complete coverage yet is stylish. I couldn't stand the thought of having lost this suit. I contacted Athleta and true to their word, they replaced them for me! The only disappointment was that my only color choices were black or white as that's all they had in my size. I chose white and love it! I was concerned it would be see through when wet even with the lining but a quick test in the shower and it seems fine. I sure loved the bling blue but the white is pretty and now I can mix and match with other suits. I'm 5'9 with a smallish bust and usually take a tall in pants but the length and cup of the regular medium fits me perfectly. Thank you Athleta!
WOW! WOW! WOW!
Ok, I JUST got this suit in the mail 10 minutes ago and HAD to write a review immediately. I LOVE IT! When I saw it online I was attracted to the simplicity and the great sangria color, but it's so hard to buy a swimsuit online. I read the great reviews, and was convinced, even though many of the reviewers stated that they are usually size 4 or 6. Gulp. I used to be a 6, but am now an 8, post baby. I have quite the belly now and am not happy about it, but it's what I have to deal with for the moment. :) Anyway, I highly recommend this suit to anyone, but especially to those looking to hide a few things and still look hot as hell. I am a size 8, 145lbs, and 5' 10" tall. Again, post baby belly bump as well. I haven't been feeling great about my figure, but this suit was a huge ego boost! I ordered both a size M tall and a size L tall to try (both in sangria) and the L tall was great, very comfy and not too tight as some reported! The rusching on the side is fabulous and the color is beautiful. NEVER stop making this suit! I'm ordering it in another color right now! I'd love to see a few patterns too.
really flattering
I bought the shirrendipity halter tankini top in the blue color and it is quite cute! The color is bright and the style is flattering, The only thing I had an issue with is the padding. It was not "playing nice" at first, so I had to adjust it several times to get it to look right in the suit. But now that's resolved, it's a keeper!

I loved this tankini! I am smaller on top, and this top (size small) actually makes me look larger (where you want to look larger, everything else looks slim). Fits great too...had to return because of color choice, but will be re ordering in another color.

I love this swimsuit! Super flattering, no matter your body type. For once, I have a swimsuit that can hold all I got without spilling out or falling out!! I feel confident doing any activity in this swimsuit. The only problem I had was that the color "Otter" looks grey online but is actually brown. I had to return it because I had ordered "asphalt" bottoms and went with "Neptune Green" which is truer to the online color. Neptune Green is a stunning color - overall, this is a perfect swim top!!
too tight
I was disappointed as I've ordered ... tops from Athleta in the past. This one was too tight. It may have been bad sizing as I had previously had a L at home in a different color and decided to not keep that but order the XL. Somehow the XL felt tighter than the L. I thought it would loosen up a bit as I wore it but didn't want to take the chance that it didn't. On a good note ,ithe material of these suits are thick and substantial and will last for years and the colors are so rich and beautiful and even after years of sun, stay pretty close to the original color. I'll try again next year.
I ordered this in the Go Green color. The color is wonderful. It is really comfortable and holds my stomach in. I did end up returning it because there was almost too much material with all the gathering and also it is very low cut. I am a size 34C on top and I just felt like it was not enough coverage for my chest.
