sport and running tank tops - reviews

The most comfortable sport tank ever. I usually buy Prana and thought I would try this---there is perfect room under the arms for activity (one of my gripes of other brands), and long enough to tuck into my running tights on cold days. I wear this for yoga, running and XC skiing. I'm approximately 36B, and a medium fit me perfectly.

Hourglass figured runners, rejoice!
If you have an hourglass figure and are discouraged by the unhappy campers' reviews of the PR ... here's some positive PR for you: I'm 5 foot 6 and as hourglass shaped as they come (32D with a tiny waist and equally un tiny "birthing hips"). To further complicate matters, I like to ... but not when my ... rides up at the hips or bunches up at my waist. (Sound familiar? I knew it would!) I ordered this ... size medium and couldn't be happier. IT IS THE *ONLY* ... HAVE *EVER* WORN THAT STAYS PUT BEAUTIFULLY DURING A ... It's breathable and comfortable and adorable all over. No chafing, no "cups ... over" and no need to constantly tug it back into place. It actually lets me focus 100% on my workout. For me, the PR ... supportive enough for strength training and low impact workouts. I definitely need a bra underneath when I use this for high impact workouts, but that's no big deal. Wish it were available in more colors, but the 3 I own (white, kelly green and petunia) are lovely. Sorry this review is so long. I'm just so in love with this ... it's hard to shut up about it. :)

Best Running Tank Ever!
I love this tank! Not only was it super comfy to wear while running 11 miles yesterday in the Florida humidity, but I got compliments from my running pals as well! My pack of sport beans fit perfectly into the back pockets, not moving at all. A plus when you are out on the road doing long ... would buy one in every color!

Excellent Top for Small B and Below
I purchased the green PR tank, and love everything about it. The fabric is durable and well made, plus the shelf bra holds like a real running bra! I used this bra for a hike the other week, and it did splendid. People commented on the back pockets, which is great for holding IDs or keys. The only con I would say this bra has is if you are a C cup or above, you will have to wear an additional sport bra underneath for running. However, for other activities that are not as high impact, it will do the job. Again, I would recommend this bra only for small B and below cup sizes if you plan to wear it alone.

Great ... Great customer service!!
I ordered the PR ... White (S) - I'm 5'2" - and it's been fabulous for ... tennis and bootcamp. I've been washing it in the washing machine and then hanging it up to dry. Recently when I took off the ... could hear the elastic band of the inner shelf bra, sort of rip/snag and the thread that attaches the fabric to the elastic band started to unravel a little. When I washed it again, the elastic band was almost completely separated from the bra and with lots of unraveled thread. SO I called Athleta customer service and they immediately placed an order for another PR ... White and they will refund me the total price once they receive the defective one back. I will definitely order more of these in the future!! (I'm only giving 4 out of 5 stars because of this issue, and expected the ... last longer than 8 months, but it really deserves 5 stars for the fit, quality and comfort!)

Tri ...
This is officially my new tri ... ordered the green colored ... bright and cheerful. I wore it for the first time under my wetsuit at a triathlon this year. It was comfortable and flattering. It comes with adequate support. It is a little more loose and flowy as compared to my other tri tops, which makes it slightly more comfortable and flattering. I have a long torso and it did not ride up, and kept me covered on the cycle portion. I chose not to wear this ... my most recent tri because I did ... wear my wet suit, and I was concerned the flowy ness of the ... would cause too much drag on the swim. Overall, I love this ... very functional. It is the closest thing i've found to a good tri ... Athleta - which they really should give more options!

Nice general sport top. I am a DD and it has good support for gym workouts, would be fine for a hike, etc with no second bra needed. Feels secure but not too tight.

Great for triathlons!
I'm a six foot tall triathlete. I struggle to find tri tops that are long enough, and at 170 pounds (and after 3 large babies) I really do not like tri uniforms like our local club team has- they end up being crop top-ish on me and then I am not comfortable. I have to feel confident when I train and race, and this ... PERFECT for swimming, biking, and running! The two back pockets are big and angled; the ... very flattering and prettier than traditional tri tops. I paired it with my Orca tri shorts and hit the road yesterday for a test 18 mile bike followed by 1 mile ... (then a half mile jog with my oldest child and the baby in the jog stroller). I will say that I have yet to test it in an open water swim (that will come on Tuesday) and my only concern is the bra area is not tight enough. When I am down in the aero bars, you defintely see straight down the cleavage (I may throw a sports bra on under it, but that would only be for looks, it was definitely supportive enough on the ... I'm a B/C) Otherwise, it was very comfy, no chafing, and the back pockets held my cell phone and gel pack nicely. It is PRETTY and it made me feel pretty! Highly recommend it!

Not the best for gals with DDs but otherwise a great top
I usually wear either a medium or large in Athleta tops and tried a large in this one because it has an internal bra and I need the extra room there (34DD). The chest fit okay but the waist was baggy - a medium may fit better except I expect the chest would be too small. And because the top wasn't designed for larger busts, if you fill out the top too much then it ends up pulling the fabric away from the armholes, revealing your sports bra on the sides (I'd definitely be wearing a sports bra underneath for support). I love the color (ordered green) and the back pockets, but had to return this one. I'll try it in a medium just in case! Verdict: Athleta, please design some sport tops for DDs like you have done so wonderfully in the swim suit line!

nice but...
I bought this ... running. I am an avid runner and I wanted something that didn't rub when I was running. This ... very cute and sporty however it did not fit in the chest area. I am 5'1" and about 130lb athletic "pear" shaped build. I am about a size 6 on ... 8-10 on the bottom. I purchased the small and it was gaping on ... would not have provided me the support I needed plus it just plain looked too big. I returned it and ordered an xs which was hard to get over my head but once on fit great and comfortably in the chest but left me self conscious about the waist and hip area as it fit a little too snug. I love the design, the color (green) and I LOVE the back pockets which are great for long distance ... which was my main attraction to the shirt in the first place. I'm sad it didn't work out, thought it would have been a keeper...it's just not designed for petites I guess.

Sausage Casing
Sadly, this ... going back. The Petunia Pop color is beautiful and the bra ... fits perfectly and provides ample support for high impact exercise. I love this ... rib cage up. I'm 5'3" 121 lb and ordered the small. This ... waaayyyyy too long for me. It is a very skinny ... hits mid thigh on me. The effect is a long and skinny sausage casing that shows every bump and curve. I have tried shorts, capri tights, and a skort on with the ... can't find a bottom that works at all. In each case, the waistband/drawstring are clearly visible (and unflattering) through the shirt. I'm a pretty fit person and feel confident in most Athleta workout clothes... but this one makes me feel like I need to lose another 15-20 lb.
