sport and running tank tops - reviews

Love this ... great support for a tri, for a big person!
I bought this ... starting to swim for training, and practicing for some fun/sprint triathlons. It is everything I could wish for. I am NOT a small woman - athletic and not slim, 5'10", 200 lbs, DD size breasts, and this ... covers and supports exactly how I need it to when swimming, running and biking. I got a size Large, Tall. It is easy to swim in, with the razor back staying out of your way on the shoulders and it's form fitting so no drag in the water. The length is great, and that's always a major problem for me. It is definitely form fitting, so you have to be comfortable showing your shape, but I'm no model and I am comfortable jogging through Boston in this ... do not wear another ... bra underneath (with the fit I got, I could not comfortably fit one), but also don't feel like I need it. The small pockets on back are great for your ID, keys, or to hold a little snack during long workouts.

Great ... - - Pockets are roomy, length is a little longer than most.
The first time I wore this ... short run I knew I would be doing my next race in it. It was supportive without being constricting. I race half ironman and iron distance tris and tend to develop a "food baby" by the end of the race. I don't feel comfortable in a ... bra because I am so pale and I like to have some pockets available and room for the food baby to develop. This ... fits the bill - - it hit me at the hips and was somewhat loose and very unrestrictive around the belly but supportive on ... (I'm only a 34B, I think I could possibly go XS on this ... more compression---I will try it on at the store!). The pockets are roomy - - I fit a few gels in each pocket for a very long run. The first race I did in this ... half iron. I fell twice during the trail run portion of the race (roots everywhere!) and thought I had ruined the ... fell hard too, I later learned I had bruised my ribs). One side of the ... covered in mud and pebbles from the fall and wouldn't you know it - - it washed out and looks as good as new!!! I couldn't believe it! I will be ordering additional colors.

The most comfortable sport tank ever. I usually buy Prana and thought I would try this---there is perfect room under the arms for activity (one of my gripes of other brands), and long enough to tuck into my running tights on cold days. I wear this for yoga, running and XC skiing. I'm approximately 36B, and a medium fit me perfectly.

Hourglass figured runners, rejoice!
If you have an hourglass figure and are discouraged by the unhappy campers' reviews of the PR ... here's some positive PR for you: I'm 5 foot 6 and as hourglass shaped as they come (32D with a tiny waist and equally un tiny "birthing hips"). To further complicate matters, I like to run, but not when my ... rides up at the hips or bunches up at my waist. (Sound familiar? I knew it would!) I ordered this ... size medium and couldn't be happier. IT IS THE *ONLY* ... HAVE *EVER* WORN THAT STAYS PUT BEAUTIFULLY DURING A RUN! It's breathable and comfortable and adorable all over. No chafing, no "cups running over" and no need to constantly tug it back into place. It actually lets me focus 100% on my workout. For me, the PR ... supportive enough for strength training and low impact workouts. I definitely need a bra underneath when I use this for high impact workouts, but that's no big deal. Wish it were available in more colors, but the 3 I own (white, kelly green and petunia) are lovely. Sorry this review is so long. I'm just so in love with this ... it's hard to shut up about it. :)

nice material, but a little tight in the arm pit area
I'm happy with this ... fits nicely, but it's a little annoying in the arm pit area. I find that it rubs a little while playing tennis. It might be better for a less active sport. I'm 5'7", and 140. Tall with a broad chest, but small breasts. It fits well. I could not wear a Medium in this style.

nice top for running
I have been looking for mor running tops. I bought this in pink, size small. It fits perfectly. The pockets are nice for holding gels on long runs. You could also probably put tennis balls in these if that is your sport of choice. I'm just a "B" cup but the support was perfect. I bought this top a few years ago, but it had terrible chafing seams and I had to return it even though I liked the style and other features for running. They seem to have fixed the chafing issues, and I wore it on a 21 mile run last Saturday in warm, sweaty weather and experienced no chafing. The pink color is nice, and I would consider buying it in other colors as well.

One of my favorite tops for running and cycling
I purchased this top last year followed by another this year and might even go for a third. This is a snug fitting top which took me some time to get used to, but the way it fits I don't really think I would want a bigger size. I wear a large and am DD, but always wear a ... bra underneath. I could probably get away without one especially cycling, but I like the extra support. The best thing about this tank are the nice sized pockets in the back. I find it harder and harder to find shorts with a decent sized pocket and usually have my keys and iphone while I workout so they are perfect. They're also great for sport gels or mini water bottles. I've never tried swimming in it, but I'm thinking it will be what I'd try for a tri. There is definitely an issue with the material bunching in the front, but it isn't enough to bother me.

Just too tight
I loved this ... color is beautiful, the length was nice and the support was good. I'm 5'3", 120 lbs with a healthy bust. A little too healthy for this ... small size. The support was good but not enough that I didn't feel the need for another sport bra underneath. And for that I would definitely need the next size up. I returned it and am trying another style in a medium.

Best Running ... Ever!
I love this ... Not only was it super comfy to wear while running 11 miles yesterday in the Florida humidity, but I got compliments from my running pals as well! My pack of sport beans fit perfectly into the back pockets, not moving at all. A plus when you are out on the road doing long runs. I would buy one in every color!

Not the best for gals with DDs but otherwise a great ...
I usually wear either a medium or large in Athleta tops and tried a large in this one because it has an internal bra and I need the extra room there (34DD). The chest fit okay but the waist was baggy - a medium may fit better except I expect the chest would be too small. And because the ... wasn't designed for larger busts, if you fill out the ... too much then it ends up pulling the fabric away from the armholes, revealing your ... bra on the sides (I'd definitely be wearing a ... bra underneath for support). I love the color (ordered green) and the back pockets, but had to return this one. I'll try it in a medium just in case! Verdict: Athleta, please design some sport tops for DDs like you have done so wonderfully in the swim suit line!

Bondage for small breasts
Again, I am on the small side. I have gotten XS tops from Athleta previously, and they have been GREAT! This was hard to pull over my head, VERY tight across the breasts, and harder to get off. Again, did not match the Sport Skort that was advertized as the same color.
