A Fabulous Surprise!
I appreciate the reviewers who take the time to give their weight and measurements to those of us who are unsure of what size to order in Athleta dresses since each style seems to run differently; thank you! I am a 34C 5'1" and approx 115lbs and was so unsure of what size to order. The reviews helped me with ordering size SMALL and I am glad I did, I have wonderful support in this ... unusual for me to find a ... dont need to wear a bra. It is so comfortable. I will have to have it hemmed due to my height but I am still so happy with this purchase. Again, thank you to those of you who shared your weight, height and bust measurements so that I order the correct size.
Great Little ...
I love Athleta dresses and this one did not disappoint! I am 5'2", 108lbs and a 32A bra size. I bought the XS and it fits well. Being very small up top I appreciate the extra help of the built in bra. Also, the length is good for my petite frame and in fact, is on the short side so I may not wear it to work but it's a great length for going anywhere else. It's also very comfortable. Very happy with it!

I bought three different dresses to try hoping that at least one would fit--this is IT! I love it. It's casual enough to simply wear around in summer, but it is so simple and the neckline so interesting, you could glam it up a bit and wear it out for dinner too. Fit is great. Nice drape, not too clingy--very flattering. I am 5'4" and about 125 lbs and ordered the small in asphalt and could not be happier. Love the built in bra--quite substantial. Wish I had acted quickly enough to get this in another color...maybe next year. Thanks Athleta.

I absolutely love this ... so comfortable and I love the fact that I can wear it without a bra. The support in the ... perfect. I am a 38C and the support is great. Super comfortable. The only thing I wish was that it came in a petite length. It hits right above the knee, and I prefer my summer dresses to be maybe 2 inches above the knee, but it still looks great. The material is very soft and flowy and not constricting at all. I ordered at Medium (I'm 5'5" 135lb), and this fits great! I want to wear it every day! I might have to get it in another color!
Nice, but
for the money, the material should be more substantial. I bought bra top dresses years ago that are still going strong. I think this one will only last a season or two. The ... beautiful color blue and fits nice, but with the thinness of the material you better be in shape! It's perfect to wear on date, or to nice restaurant because the material is not swimsuit, more like drapey spandex, if that makes sense. I'm 5'3" and 130 lbs. and the medium fit perfectly.
Too tight for curves
I ordered this ... Vivid Blue in both the S and S Tall. The color and style are very pretty but unfortunately the ... too tight through the hips and butt to accommodate my curves. I am 5'8", 140, 34/36B, and usually the Small Athleta dresses fit me perfectly, especially in this type of swimsuit fabric. This ... really got hung up on my hips and "booty", although it fit nicely up top. The Tall was a little more forgiving than the Regular size, but not enough for me to keep it. I think the extra material helped weigh the skirt down so there was less bunching. The top of the ... flattering and I really liked the different style of the neckline and straps. I also liked the option of being able to cross over the straps in the back. I'm disappointed this ... didn't work for me. It was so close to perfect!
Pleasantly Surprised
This is my first Athleta purchase and I am very happy as it is difficult to purchase summer dresses for my daughter who 15 years old, 5'7', broad shoulders, 36C, and long legs. This ... perfect as is it flattering, but not revealing. Depending on how she dresses it up, she will be able to wear it just about anywhere. The ... seems to be well made and the fabric is very comfortable. I would have given a 5 star rating, but haven't washed it yet so we'll have to see.
the perfect ...
This ... really is perfect. I'm 5' 9" and a 38DD. It is soooo difficult to find dresses that fit in both the chest and body and Athleta nailed it. I ordered a large. I could have stood it to be a bit more fitted in the body area but will sacrifice a perfect fit my large chest into such a cute ...
Not for me
I'm 5'6", 140#. Struggle to pull on over head. Like many dresses of this kind, makes me look butchy, like I should be posing for muscle magazine. Pads are better out. Great support and great fabric...it's a swim suit. The breaker was that my tummy bulge at age 41 despite being a half marathon runner and yogini, shows unattractively.Return to sender. Gorgeous color though. It MAY BE FOR YOU!
Flunked the quality test
I was very excited when this ... went on sale because it perfectly coincided with a trip to southern Spain my husband and I had planned. I loved the fit, not skintight but loose enough to breathe well, color, and built in bra. It also packs well and was wrinkle free. Sounds perfect so far. I spent the morning of the first day I wore it dropping off post cards and walking through town, and to my dismay, I found that the fabric had already started pilling in the place where my purse (worn cross body) was sitting against my side. Are you kidding? Pilling from wearing a purse for two hours? That is some wimpy fabric, and I spent the rest of the day readjusting my purse periodically to keep the fabric from pilling more. Too high maintenance for me. I will stick with my Patagonia dresses, which are much better quality and lower maintenance.
