sport skorts - reviews

Love this ...
I've had one of these skorts for three or four years, and it's my favorite in a whole rodful of skorts in my closet, so i was really glad to see a new, brighter color this year. The piece is great for travel, since it doesn't wrinkle (or hangs right out if it does get a wrinkle in the suitcase), and the longer length makes it good for sightseeing in places that shorts or shorter skorts would not be appropriate. It can go for a hike in the morning, visit a church in the afternoon, and dress up with sandals for dinner. It comes out of the dryer ready to wear, and the fit is both comfortable and flattering. (I'm 5'6, 124 lbs, and the 4 is perfect.) I keep hoping Athleta will offer it in a medium or dark blue.

Whatever ... - Perfect for whatever I do
First of all - I love the Whatever ... now have 4 of them and will be buying at least one or two more to complete my color palette. Skorts have been my "go to" clothing item in the summer and when I travel. Comfortable, cool and modest. This past May I traveled internationally and purchased two Whatever skorts before I left...I pretty much wore nothing else for the 9 days I was away. If I needed to wash them a quick rinse in the sink and then by morning they were dry and wrinkle free. After getting back from vacation I was hooked and purchased 2 more Whatever skorts, and have pretty much worn nothing else this summer. They are perfect for weekend errands, hikes and even bikes and then can be dressed up to wear to go to dinner at night to a nice restaurant. They fit great and are just so incredibly comfortable...as I said...Love the Whatever ...

Perfect!
I have 6 Whatever skorts. They fit and wear beautifully and they seem to be the only thing I wear lately. Fortunately, where I live and travel, I will be able to wear them nearly year round. At almost 5'2" and 102 lbs, I can wear either a regular 2 or a petite 2. The skorts are a tad big in the waist but who cares? They have a draw string if I want to wear it at the waist or I simply pull it down to my hips. Then the ... either at the top of my knees or about 1-2" above. No problem! So far, I've had 2 women at the mall ask me where I bought my skorts as well as several friends. I hope they, too, buy and enjoy them. I know I will nebver be without this wonderful garment.

Best ... ever, but maybe only if you are tall or like a longer length
Bought this ... wear on beach/island vacation. It was perfect as it is flowy and light but long and stylish enough to be a proper, respectable skirt. I often find Athleta's styling to be a bit on the dowdy side but this skirt is super cute. The fabric is soft and silky but with a sport vibe. Also wore it golfing yesterday and was at first disappointed that there was only a single back pocket but that turned out to be enough to easily stash four balls and I never felt them (who knows what I looked like from the back!). I've since gone back and bought more of their current colors. I found the patterns boring. Would have loved a bold chevron stripe in navy/parchment or and/or deep red. Slit side pockets on the seam would be handy. My guess is that this skirt would be too long for many but for me it is a very easy wearing, comfortable, cute skirt. I'm 48, 5'9" and 135 lb so it hits a few inches above my knee. I wear Athleta's size 4 though I am usually a size 6 in other brands. I've been buying from Athleta for years and this is probably one of my top five favorite purchases.

Favorite!
This is my favorite ... have one solid color and one printed. I practically live in them and my sweet sport ... Besides the overall style which I adore, the length is just great. At age 48 I want to be stylish but don't want short skirts/shorts. The regular was the perfect length for me (5 ft 5 in).

Great purchase!!!!!
I work at a fitness center and this is absolutely perfect for a work day!! Comfy and lightweight, it feels like my sport shorts but looks professional. Will be traveling/exploring this summer and this, along with the gray one I also purchased, will be great whether walking long distances or dining out. So glad i found this!!!! Wish the black wasn't backordered for so long.

Stylish
I bought this in beige and loved it. I just got a second in charcoal. It is longer than most sport skorts but that works for running around and being active yet wanting to look nice for going out to a restaurant. I am planning on bringing it on my work trips to Europe. Its great for sight seeing. The only concern I have is that it does wrinkle- but so far that hasn't detracted from it that much.

Pretty, functional and comfortable
This is a very attractive piece, tomboyishly sporty but girlishly swingy. I got a lot of compliments on this ... first day I wore it to work. The material is slightly stretchy and feels cool against the skin, so it was incredibly comfortable. I got the falcon colour and with sandals it looks sporty, with heels it looks dressy. I like fairly low rises and wish this one was a bit lower, but it is not too high, and I just pulled it down a bit onto my hips. It's long enough that I would not wear it for real sport, maybe just a ride on my beach cruiser or running around with the kids at the park. I think it will be an awesome travel skirt (but wonder if it will need a bit of ironing/steaming after being packed.)

Will get a lot of use out of this skirt!
Really like this. Standard size 12 longer than I expected (I'm 5'8"); all the way to my knee. If you are < 5'7", might consider petite sizing or may be below knees. I have the pear shape thing going on with small waist, larger hips/ thighs. So glad for the inner drawstring or the waist would really gap! I wore this bike riding ( not serious sport biking, just casual) & also to the grocery store & really liked it. Inner short is not compression style so does ride up on my thighs with use, so if anything, I'd wish for a bit more compression so this didn't happen as much, but it's not awful. I bought the asphalt color & like it; the darker color does appear to show the contrast thread color more than a lighter color would. I'd like to also get the grape color (on back order) or the light gray. Oh, I also liked how lightweight it is as with some skorts I tried on, the ... felt much heavier. It's a great weight for warmer weather.

... tastic!
Love the fit, love the feel, love the length! Appreciated finding a ... acceptable enough for activewear/sports that was also longer in length. I'm not some young "thang" who can wear 15" skirts...those days are long gone! The only thing that would make the ... better is to add pockets...that was my biggest disappointment, as my primary sport is golf and I've nowhere to put my tees/divot fixer.

Versatile ...
I love the idea of a ... - no worries while I chase my kids and look pretty doing it. Yeah! I ordered this in the regular and petite lengths. I am 5'5" and a size 4. The size 4 works well. There is an internal drawstring if the waist is too large, although I don't need it. The petite length hits 2" above the knee and the regular hits just above the knee. I got the shorter length to play tennis. I am not sure if the regular length would be too long for that purpose. I ordered the black print and the asphalt because the black is back ordered. I loved the print out of the box, but as other reviewers suggested I am not sure the print hits me in the right spots. I.e maybe the print draws attention to my hips and that is not what I need. The asphalt is a dark gray with cream color stitching, which I think limits what I would wear with it. I may have to wait on the black. The fabric is very light and will be great in warm weather. The worst part is the shorts ride up on my legs with minimal movement. I really wanted to love, love, love this ... but I gave it 4 stars because the shorts make it less comfortable. The short fabric in the Sweet Sport Skirt is different and rides up less.
