sports bra top - reviews

Great top - - Pockets are roomy, length is a little longer than most.
The first time I wore this top for a short run I knew I would be doing my next race in it. It was supportive without being constricting. I race half ironman and iron distance tris and tend to develop a "food baby" by the end of the race. I don't feel comfortable in a sports ... because I am so pale and I like to have some pockets available and room for the food baby to develop. This top fits the bill - - it hit me at the hips and was somewhat loose and very unrestrictive around the belly but supportive on top (I'm only a 34B, I think I could possibly go XS on this top for more compression---I will try it on at the store!). The pockets are roomy - - I fit a few gels in each pocket for a very long run. The first race I did in this top was a half iron. I fell twice during the trail run portion of the race (roots everywhere!) and thought I had ruined the top. (I fell hard too, I later learned I had bruised my ribs). One side of the top was covered in mud and pebbles from the fall and wouldn't you know it - - it washed out and looks as good as new!!! I couldn't believe it! I will be ordering additional colors.

Best. Top. Ever. 3 Reasons
1. This top supports better than any sports bra I've ever had! Reviewers have noted that it is difficult to get on and off, but it's worth it since it holds everything in place so well. 2. Pockets in the back. Perfect for housekeys. 3. Great cut around the arms. Plenty of movement for sports like tennis or softball. I'll be purchasing more of these! I find it really helpful when people share their size, so for those of you who also find it helpful (5'1'', 125).

Pockets!
I purchased the 2X and it fits great! The material creates a gap in the neckline like others have mentioned but it doesn't bother me too bad. It fits snuggly but not suffocating. The pockets are awesome for tennis, which is what I purchased it for - I've been looking for something like this! If they would fix the gap in the neckline and offer more colors in my size I would buy 100 of these! {Also, I would rather there not be a built in sports bra and it just be a tank and I could wear my own sports bra. That's usually easiest for larger chested gals ;) }

Internal Bra= Weak
I am 36 B. Bought this in medium and send back for Large which fits better. I love the color, the racer back and the pockets. My complaint is that the "internal bra" is not very supportive. Sort of lightly smaches the girls. I will wear this with a sports bra underneath.

Love it but doesn''t fit DDs...
This is a great top and fits very well - except in the bust. I have to wear a sports bra underneath for running and this top is so small in the chest that the sides of my bra show through. That's not a big deal, but the real problem is that the cups themselves and the padding are too small for 34DD so the edges of the padding show through in the wrong place and it just looks off. If Athleta made this one with DD sizing, I'd definitely buy one or two! I love the material, the fit through the waist and the length, and the pockets are neat. Kelly green is a fantastic color too - sick of standard pastels & b&w that are so often the only offerings. Sad to see this one go back.

Not the best for gals with DDs but otherwise a great top
I usually wear either a medium or large in Athleta ... tried a large in this one because it has an internal bra and I need the extra room there (34DD). The chest fit okay but the waist was baggy - a medium may fit better except I expect the chest would be too small. And because the top wasn't designed for larger busts, if you fill out the top too much then it ends up pulling the fabric away from the armholes, revealing your sports bra on the sides (I'd definitely be wearing a sports bra underneath for support). I love the color (ordered green) and the back pockets, but had to return this one. I'll try it in a medium just in case! Verdict: Athleta, please design some sport ... DDs like you have done so wonderfully in the swim suit line!

I'm searching for a sports bra/top that is actually designed for a woman who works out and has muscles. Additionally, I'm searching for a sports bra that "twarts the headlights" as Athleta puts it. This top is great; one issue I have with just about every sports bra is that it would dig in between my shoulder and my neck (I'm not a hulk, but I'm an avid Crossfitter, so I have muscles) and this top doesn't do that. However, it doesn't deliver on "thwarting" the headlights. It's a gorgeous color, but I'll probably return it.

Almost...
My one complaint about this top is that it is just too roomy in the chest. I cannot run or do high impact movements with this top without additional support. I ordered the small... I'm 5'7", an extremely fit 135 lb, and am bra size 34b. I loved the fit through the waist, shoulders, length, and just wished it fit more like a running sports bra through the chest. This top is almost perfect.

Okay top
Got this in the purple & it's a great color. There is a built in bra, and I didn't have to wear a sports bra with it when working out in the gym, but I will when I run in it. It's a little tight around the waist, but the way it's cut helps a little bit.
Sadness.....
I admit it, I am more gifted in the chest than I'd like, and finding a sports top that fits AND supports my girls is, I think, impossible. I am a 5'5", 155 lbs. 30-something, with a 36DDD chest. This tank, in a size L, fit me just fine - everywhere but the chest! While it did "FIT", my chest was saggy and unsupported, the neckline drooped too low for my preference (why must you show cleavage with most sports ... knew in 1 minute it was not going to work. I loved the feel of the material, loved the color and the shape, but overall, there was no support - returned it!
Disappointed
Great looking bra top and the fabric is soft but the neckline is horrible. While the armholes have double stiching, the neckline does not. The bulkiness of the fabric (because of the internal bra) causes the neckline to "roll over". I wear a size small in every sports bra I have ever bought but this small was too large in the chest area. In fact it seemed like the internal bra/support was bigger than the external garment. I am not ordering a smaller size because of the neckline and because I am not sure the fabric would be good to run in--seems like it would be heavy when wet.
