cute
the top is cute. definitely for low impact. You can pop out of this one if you try to surf or play higher impact sports. But, it is great for swimming with the family or playing in the waves. It is still sexy, but not a string that will fall off at every turn. Also, I love that it is not around the neck. I hate feeling the pressure on my neck!

Cute and modern
I love this top. It is not too skimpy, but not matronly. The style is young and fresh, but unlike a string ... top, it will actually stay on if you enter the water. I get really perturbed with "surfing" company bikinis for women that are scarcely more than eye patches with string that aren't even meant to get wet... as if girls just want to lay around and sun themselves on the beach and look hot. No thanks! I want to play! This top offers the best of both worlds... it looks cute and stylish but is much more conducive to activity than most ... tops.

Fits great, looks very cute, love the bright color, the fabric feels substantial. If you are doing something more active than playing in surf you can tighten the straps or remove the pads to keep the girls in. Also, the padding keeps the suit from drying quickly, but I used them because it enhances my figure nicely.

I surf with my daughters and I finally found a top that stays put but also is beautiful and feminie. looks incredible on, my daughters are 17 and 18 and they are going to purchase one as well. by them wanting one that tells all!

Worked great
This top is a keeper for me. It looked less like a bra top than I imagined but fit well and was very comfortable while providing appropriate coverage for a day out with the family. It actually covered my 32A chest in a flattering way without crazy ridiculous padding - finally! I played with my nieces in the surf with the greatest of confidence.

Great mom style string ...
This is an awesome top, I have zero complaints and am usually quite picky. I never wore string bikinis because I am a B C cup and they didn't feel supportive enough. This one does, and the coverage level is perfect for a fit active mama. It did expose my nipples when body surfing in HI, though - but what ... doesn't?! I'm 36B or 34C range, and the M fits well. The matching bottoms aren't as great - too much fabric in the butt.

Love this suit
I purchased this suit to take to Hawaii with me. I wanted a suit I could wear to swim, body surf and boogie board in the ocean with my kids. The suit stayed in place (no wardrobe malfunctions here!). It was super comfortable and looks great. I am very small in the chest, and this suit fit well and made me feel less self- conscious than most bikni tops.

great top if you are "little" up top!
I usually avoid bikinis because they accentuate my lack of curves up top, but this one actually makes me look busty! You can tie the center tie tighter to create some cleavage, and adjust the straps to help lift, so it does a better job than most bras!I am very happy with this top!

BEYOND EXPECTATION
I genuinely DID NOT expect this bathing suit to fit. I am a petite woman and often have to buy a medium bottom and a small top which never really made sense to me ! I purchased both a small top and small bottom in this suit and amazingly it fits. Not only does it fit but its as though it were made for me. In the past I had a swimsuit with a similiar criss cross tie in the back and I loved it but could never find another one like it until now. This suit will be perfect for going from sun bathing to snorkling with my family and I won't need to worry if it will be still be on properly if the surf is rough!

only suits I own
I surf (try!) and swim in rough ocean and need a top that stays on in the waves. I am also very flat chested and like the performance, padding and fit of this new ... top. I mix and match with the Goa oceanside shorts, the Goa ... bottoms, and the Goa Tankini top for different looks. Love them all.

D cup size loves my 34DDs
This is the first ... top (under $100 for just the top) I have ever found that offered support for my 34DD chest and fit properly! I found the coverage to be perfect, the support to be adequate enough to run around after kids and play in the surf, and the band to be comfortable even with all day wear (WOW). If I could change one thing with this suit it would be to somehow engineer the strappy back with some extra support feature in the D cup size - NOT because it doesn't comfortably support the gals and stay in place (it does), but because the cute little criss crossing of the straps in the back is slightly smooshed together when you crank up the straps for heavier breasts. Now, having birthed and nursed four children, I do tend to crank on those straps a little tighter than the younger ladies (which speaks all the more to the quality of this suit), so I think the younger ladies who wear D and DD cups and don't yet have much "saggage" will find this suit to have zero issues. Yes you CAN wear a cute ... top and not slice your neck off with the tie strings, ladies!!!

Not what I expected
Good suit overall. I like the material, but was disappointed when the strings for the swim top seemed to keep stretching as I had it on and was in the surf. I bought it with our trip to the outer banks beaches in mind. As I was swimming, boogie boarding etc, the top had to continually be adjusted. The suit is fine for back home regular pool usage though. Cute, but not worth the money I paid!

love, love, love it!
This top is great! Im 5 foot 11 and ordered the tall size.in medium. Love that the length covers all the tummy area. I am 52 and dont wear bikinis anymore. the shirring on the sides is very flattering, giving a nice shape to the waist. i am busty with a 36C bra size and the halter fit holds me in well with perfect cleavage. I liked it so much I bought 2! Yeah, i finally have a bathingsuit that fits!!!! ( bought the full tide bottom and love that also)

Great top!
This is a wonderful tight fitting, flattering top that I feel comfortable wearing in all situations. I have a bunch of ... suits but was looking for something a little more modest to wear when I'm not just with my family. I'm in my low 40's and while my husband would rather me always wear the bikinis (men!) I kept finding myself in situations where I would have been more comfortable wearing a one piece suit. However, I find that one piece suits are not as flattering on me as the two piece suits. They tend to show every little bulge and bump that a girl might have! Because of the tight fitting nature of this top, as well as the shirring, I found this top very flattering and very comfortable to wear. I am 5'2, 108 lbs and my cup size is 32D. I ordered both the small and ... small but the ... small fit great so the small was returned. My only problem was trying to decide which color to order!

Yes, yes, yes!
Just got this and had to write a review, which I normally would not do. Looks really good, as other reviews confirm, just wanted to share these details. I'm 5', 120 lbs, muscular with really broad shoulders, 34A and wear size 2-4. I only wear halter suits, since I'm no longer in my 20s (no more string bikinis) and since figuring out it's the most flattering style on my broad shoulders. This is the perfect halter, I'll probably order other colors in the future to go with whatever ... bottoms I purchase. I'm still in good shape but have a pretty bad mummy tummy after 2 kids, with diastasis and loose skin that just kinda hangs on me, and my main goal these days is hiding my belly. I ordered the SMALL TALL and mission accomplished! It comes down over my bottoms, and the shirring allows me to pull it up a little to camoflage the belly, it feels very supportive, and fits well in the chest. So, if this sounds like you, go for the tall size, it's worked out perfectly for me!

A definite "must have"!
I am transitioning from bikinis to tankinis this summer, and wasn't sure where to start looking for a good suit. My sister in-law recommended Athleta to me, and I couldn't be happier!! One top I purchased was the Shirrendipity Halter, and I aboslutley LOVE it!!! I'm 5'9", 158 lbs, so I ordered a Med and Large. Although the Med was snug, it definitely ended up being the right fit, as the large was too big in the chest (i'm a 36C). As for the length, I ordered the Tall because I have a long torso. It's a great lenght if you don't mind not seeing all of your bottoms (for example black top and bottoms); however, if you want to see all of your bottoms I would definitely recommend the Regular length (I also purchased the Shirrendipity Halter in wave blue along with the reef break bottoms which have a navy blue band at the ... .

Perfect fit
Love this tankini! I never thought I'd find one that would provide enough coverage to be modest around my in laws, as well as comfortable and good looking when I'm on the beach! I am small chested (smaller than an A cup) and this tankini was perfect-- it highlights your assets in exactly the right ways. I have never been able to find a tankini that fit my body type and have been resorting to string bikinis for way too long. I'm going to buy an extra one to have on hand for future years as well.

Snug Fit and sliming
Once you get this top on (which isn't the easiest), its a great fit and sliming look. It's a snug, compression like fit, without being to- tight under the arms. I'm a 4 and it fit nicely. I like the thicker bra padding because you can't see through it at all and its more support. I wear this suit when I don't know if the water will be rough and I want to be able to body surf without losing my suit. It's also a beautiful deep purple which matches perfectly with the old shoreline skirts Athleta used to have.

I Loved it!
I had never ordered a swimsuit online. I followed the sizing chart and it is perfect. I like it so much that I am ordering a 2nd one in a different color. I am 50 yrs old and played in the double red flag surf and didn't have to worry about losing my suit. It was great!

Love it
I love this top. While I wear bikinis for swimming, I really liked how this top looked so I bought it as a casual tanktop and it's great! Fun for hot summer days when you might be compelled to take a splash in the fountain downtown or run through your neighbor's sprinklers (you're never too old for that stuff). I was worried that it might not be long enough, but it is (I wear lowrise pants and it's not crop topy at all).

Great top!
Really liked this and I wore it with the shirred swimskirt and the vital swim shorts. I originally ordered the tall size, thinking that I wanted it to easily reach the bottom. But when it arrived I felt like I just had too much material around my middle - the shirring is pretty generous itself. I returned it for a regular medium and it was perfect! It is a bit low cut, but not uncomfortably so. I wore it swimming laps and in the surf and it stayed in place great.

Great coverage for a mom!
Wow! This is the most comfortable and best fitting suit I've tried on in years! I got it in a size medium, with medium scrunch top. I am 5'8", 140lbs, 36A, mom of two and usually wear a small to medium top, size 6 bottom and it all fits perfectly! I love how it fits snuggly so won't fall off during beach activities, yet the fabric is soft and comfortable. I have worn bikinis for years, but so many of them have inadequate coverage on the bottom for a mom. My only comment is BEWARE the BRILLIANT BLUE! It was a very pretty medium blue on my monitor, but is actually a very bright turquoise and too loud for me. I'm now considering the otter - wish they had some better blue options, but the size, fit and comfort level are amazing!

Talk about perfect!
The Not so String ... perfect for snorkel and stand up boarding. This bottom stays where it should . . . on my bottom! I bought this for my annual two months in Hawaii, and 64th birthday, to visit my Grandbabies, and was not disappointed. I just ordered another one in colors to match a tankini top just purchased. I am 63 years young and still love bikinis. Why not? Life is short! Or way too long in a dowdy old granny suit.

Cute and functional!
This swim bottom is great. I'm normally a 25/26 in jeans and the XS was perfect. It fits well and stays put running on the beach, swimming, and snorkeling. The string can be adjusted, but is very secure--it doesn't come loose easily. I bought it with the three sixty ... top and the combo is one of the best bikinis I've bought in a while. I'm tempted to buy more!

Great fit, but nto best for surf
Great fit, very pretty and attractive especially with the side ties but not the best for use in surf as it come down a couple of time in the surf. I am 5'2' and atheltic build but with curves. I ordered a medium. But great for swimming in the ocean--just not the ideal for surf. Maybe if you tied the strings on the side super tight but I don't think that would be good for the longevity of the ties on the side. But I really love the bottom for active beach wear.

So far, so good
I'm not really into bathing suits anymore, but I'm going to the beach for 2 weeks and needed to get something. This shirred bottom is very flattering on. I'm 5'5", 127 pounds. I ordered the small and the medium. Both fit but I kept the small because it looked better with the tops I bought. Could have actually gone with either size depending on how much coverage I wanted. I haven't put it to use yet, but the material seems very good and I'm looking forward to wearing it with both tankini tops I bought, so I get two suits in 1 and a half. I will body surf and swim some. I think it's going to be fine for both.

Pretty happy, but sizing was a bit off
I really liked the mix and match concept for the ... purchased through Athleta. I LOVED the top. The fit was fantastic and everything stayed in place while I was running on the beach and swimming in the surf. The shirred bottom was cute, but it was a tad big and I was concerned about literally losing my shorts while out in the surf at the beach. I kept tugging them in place. But they looked good, had enough coverage, and dried pretty quickly (faster than my Speedo) Lesson learned, next time I order the small.

Cute but really small!
I really like these bottoms but they run really small. I am a size 4 so I ordered the small but it was way too tight. I am going to try to return them and get a medium. I really hope that fits because I think this suit could be really cute. I have been looking for the perfect sport suit that stays on while swimming in the surf and running with little kids.; This suit could be that suit but the bottoms are just very small. I hope the medium fits and is not too big in the rear (which is frequently a problem for me).
