swimsuits for women - reviews

Very Happy!
Finding my first swim skirt has been an adventure! I tried them on in department stores and thought they were overall cut for an older person - I ordered from other catalogs and when I received my package from Athleta, I sent the other packages back because the fit didn't compare to this one. It is cut for a fit and athletic type with coverage but a younger style. Thank you for providing such a great product - i now have my vacation and summer swimsuit!

Perfect fit
I love this swim skirt. It has the perfect amount of coverage. I have dozens of swimsuits, but this year the skirt with the matching hot pink and white matching tankini are the best fit I have ever found in a swimsuit. Every year I try to find one that fits better. This is it. I had a chance to try it out in Cancun this winter. I was very comfortable walking the beach, and in the water. It stays put, and looks great. If this helps I am in my upper fifties, am 5-1 and about 108 or so. I bought the small and it fits great. No muffin top either. Finally I found something I love.

Great swimsuit bottom!
I was looking for a swim suit bottom that I could wear with several different swim tops I had. I am 5'4", 146 and am getting in shape, but still don't like my thighs - I am far more comfortable walking around in this than a traditional swim suit bottom. This swim skirt works great!

Love This Skirt
Unlike some of the reviews that say this is a skirt for older women etc etc that is not true! I bought this skirt because it makes me look more sexy than just plan bikini bottoms. This is an awesome skirt and the slit makes it easy to run or swim in. You don't have to be 50+ to wear this. I totally would recommend this for any girl that want a little bit more coverage or just likes the sexy look.

my new swimsuit
I purchased four pieces to mix and match not for performance swimming but for pool swimming. I like the shoulder straps because halter straps put too much strain on my neck (and I am small busted). The bikini top with skirt is a cute look but I am long waisted and the skirt hung very low on my hips even though I ordered the smallest size. But it did cover the top of my thighs and hit at just the right length to look cute and NOT frumpy! All in all, I am very satisfied : )

A little low on the hips
Great style except the front sits a little too low and highlights "the pooch". It's better for more fit women. It's true to size. I found it to be shorter than the pictures look but not too short.

Not for me.
I'm 5'7' and 150 lbs. While I love the swim shorts, this skirt was all wrong. The top of skirt is very bulky for a tankini or other cover ups. The skirt is too short if you are wanting to cover up your bottom. I'm at the age where a bikini is no longer an option but I love to swim, and this skirt is not flattering at all for women wanting to look OK while not showing it all. If you have the body for it..... go for it.
very cute when dry, but too loose & hangs heavy once wet
This looks really cute when dry, and looks just as good on as in the photos online; it feels secure and has a lot of coverage, and is very comfortable. I am 5'6'' and about 140 and usually wear a medium, but exchanged for a small, which fit much better. I got this as a sort of sexy cross between surfer shorts and a tiny swimsuit, and to avoid feeling self conscious about errant hairs below. This suit passes the bill to that end, but unfortunately, once it is wet, it feels a bit too bulky and heavy...I felt a kind of matronly wearing it out of the water, like it was just an excess of material, and not particularly functional for swimming, or lots of in and out of the water. For sunbathing, or maybe playing volleyball or other activities on the sand, it might be perfect, but I like to be in and out of the water and feel freedom of movement. Got some light weight board shorts from Patagonia this summer for all the reasons I got this one, and now am gonna try the Trestles shorts from Athleta as a replacement...I guess you just can't have it all in swim bottoms!
