I''ve never had so much fun buying a swimsuit
I had never even thought to order from Athleta before! After buying one, I am obsessed with this tankini so much so that I bought it in 4 colors to mix and match with a variety of bottoms. I can honestly say that I've never had so much fun buying swimwear! Every woman hates trying on swimsuits, but trying them on in the winter months before a vacation is even worse... Athleta takes out the stress by offering the no risk return policy and you can try them on at home. I found this tankini true to size - I'm 5'3", 120#, 34B and took a size Small. I actually tried the regular and tall length and can get away with either. I love the shirred material as it covers the bumps and love handles, and flattens out the tummy. I received tons of compliments from friends and my husband when I wore the tops recently in Mexico. I have never felt so comfortable in a swimsuit top! The coverage was great and the halter tie stayed put even while swimming and jumping in to the pool. I cannot praise this top enough!

So flattering!
Bought the Brilliant Blue tankini in XS on sale and so happy with it! Beautiful color and material. It really flatters my small frame - 5'4", 106bs, 34AA. Its cute, stylish, and practical. The chest coverage is perfect - enough support and modest coverage but still sexy due to the deep V. Some people may find it tight around the midsection but I find that perfect for swimming since it won't ride up once you are in the water. Great suit for for swimming as well as hanging out by the pool/beach. I bought the Amrita medium tide bottom in Baltic to pair with it. The two blues compliment each other. Love it!

Functional, Versitile and Fashionable!
I love, love, love Athleta swimwear! Every piece is not only well made and functional, but the fit is great, the colors and patterns are amazing and unique and the styles are adorable and flattering for a variety of body shapes and sizes. I love the rouching on this top - it's so flattering! I am 5'1", 120 lbs and the size small fits perfectly. I paired with the Trestles Notsostring bottom and it's a perfect match.

Finally!
I've always had trouble with swimwear because of my long torso...LOVE this tankini top! It was long enough to cover my torso without riding up and so comfortable! Bra sizes are true to size so there is no "hangout" anywhere! I ordered the skirt and several matching pieces to swap around! Can wear it with capris or a skirt on my cruise when not swimming.

LOVE these! I was looking for an alternative to my regular bikini bottoms and these are perfect. Not matronly at all. I'm in my early 40's~ 5'4" ,145lbs, flat stomach & curvy. The medium fits perfectly! They are super comfortable and very hip. My husband commented stating they are very flattering on me. Just ordered another pair at the sale price.

These are awesome swim shorts that can also be worn out of the water during really humid days. My 15 yr old neice was impressed with them when she saw them on me (I'm age 49) and she's quite astute on fashion. They are lightweight in the water when you swim and they dry quickly when you get out of the water. I would highly recommend these paired with one of the swim tops. I love the fit of Athleta swimwear!

I haven't worn these swim shorts yet, waiting for the pools to open! They fit nicely and I and mixing them with some new and old Athleta swim tops. I am 5-6, 130", usually a m, but a s in swimwear.

I returned these swim shorts for another color - just didn't care for the color on me! I usually wear a medium in shorts, but wear a small in the swimwear. I am 130# and 5'-6".

From the previous reviews, I suspected that the fold over waist would be too mobile. But I got these on sale and it's the only thing I could find to go with a swim top I have, so it was worth a try. They *are* cute, when they stay in place. They're fine for just playing around with the kid in the pool, but anything more than that and I have to check the top is in place before I get out of the water. If the waist had less fabric bulk and if it were fully tacked down, these would be perfect. And the customer service I got when we had a shipping error was fantastic! I'm really looking forward to the Athleta brick n-mortar opening here in Indy!

I am almost 50, 5'7" and 125-8 #. I am fairly trim, but am starting to get a little thicker around the thighs. This bottom has that extra band of material at the waist that helps to cover your tummy a bit. It is like a thick banded pair of yoga pants where the band helps to reign in that extra skin/fat at the waist. I actually owned a pair already and saw the sale and got several pairs in different colors to mix and match with my tankini tops from Athleta. I will never wear a bikini again, but these bottoms seem to work well for me. I also think the shirring also hides things too and dresses them up.

I have a few of these athleta swim bottoms (black, white & purple). Although the little swag of fabric at the front may bother some, it is well placed, better than in years past (imo). These bottoms cover well but are still sexy, a lot sexier than wearing a too skimpy bikini bottom! I have usually gotten a size M ( for example: I wear a size 4 at Express, size 2 at Loft), which feel a little loose, but stay on pretty well. I think the small would be a bit tight - too bad there are no "between sizes" or a numerical sizing system, but otherwise I think these are great, versatile and perfect for mixing and matching w/ other solid or patterned swimwear of similar fabric type!

Love this swim top
I was concerned that this swim top would make me look flat as a pancake, but Athleta has these wonderful removable cups in most of their swim tops. This is great news for us who are a little small on top. I really like the fit and appearance of this top. This is the third piece of swimwear I have purchased from Athleta and I am so impressed. I don't think I will ever order swimwear anywhere else.

Fabulous Top
I am preparing for a trip to Aruba and I just received my new swimwear. I couldn't be happier! I'm 52, wear a 34C, and have tried on many swimsuit tops that made me look too busty or feel like over ripe fruit. There isn't too much padding and the fit is perfect (I ordered a medium). It is also very comfortable. I highly recommend this top.

I wear a 34A bra size. The extra small actually fit better than the small. I'm 5' 4" 117 # . This top is comfortable and seems like it will stay put. Got it on sale. The non sale price however is just too high.

Good in black but runs a bit small
After waiting all summer for the black bikini to go on sale, it never did, so I paid FULL PRICE for this top and the tie side bottom. I am a perfect 36C and required the large top, even though the medium bottom fit me and I am not small down there (132 lbs!). I like the top though don't expect the same coverage as in the photo unless you are a B cup. Also, black is fine but other colors will not dim the headlights, even with the pads.

as expected
Ordered this to mix/match with two other paisley suits. As expected, Cocoa Bean was a good color match for both. Love the adjustable straps and front tie. Overall size, cup size, and quality all as expected. Wish the padding was built into the suit and it had underwire for extra support. I'm only a 34B but I like added support. Overall happy with my purchase (& it was on sale)!

cute, not for the large chested
I bought this top in asphalt to go with some printed not so string bikini bottoms that were on sale. The bottoms were asphalt also, but the colors were not a perfect match. Kept them anyways, hard to tell unless you are really close. I am a 34D and ordered the medium. It fits, but there is definitely no spare coverage. The adjustable ties help. It is nice quality material. This is a nice top for the beach or lounging by the pool. Would not work, for me anyways, for higher impact activities.

Made in China
Sending this and the matching no string bottoms back. I won't wear intimates, swimwear, or workout wear made in China. I remember the days when Athleta items were made in USA (before they were brought into the Gap fold). I'd gladly pay more for their items if they could be USA made again.

Fits great
I don't like underwire swimwear, nor do I like little triangles that barely cover anything. This is nice....good quality material, covers just enough so that you do not have to constantly keep adjusting the straps. I have the purple and blue and love them. I might have to buy the skirt bottom that goes with the purple since I love the blue one so much. I'm 5'5 and 140lbs. 34d bra and the Medium fits fine. Tried the bottom in a large, but was excited when it was too big! Medium works great.

This bikini top has finally found a happy medium between sexy swim wear and sport wear. Fit was perfect and comfortable. I've bought two solids and wish they'd made this same desing in the patterned swimwear as well.

I love, love, love Athleta swimwear! Every piece is not only well made and functional, but the fit is great, the colors and patterns are amazing and unique and the styles are adorable and flattering for a variety of body shapes and sizes. I am 5'1", 120 lbs and the size small fits perfectly. I paired with the Trestles Notsostring bottom and it's a perfect match.

Perfect .... until I washed it!!
Favorite top .... until I washed it and now becoming dingy like the matching white Tankini I previously purchased!! I have tried all of the "stay white"/ "re whiten" swimwear secrets to no availI.I believe it is the inside tan coloring that is bleeding. I am upset spending around $100 on 2 suit tops that can't stay white when I am washing as recommended..... what am I missing here!?!? I also have purchased quite a few other products from Athleta and have always been extremely satisfied, until now.

Love this swim skirt!! It is cute and sexy while being just modest enough and comfortable, too. I have an hourglass figure and am pretty fit but not a fan of my upper thighs. The length of this skirt covered just enough without looking "matronly." I originally bought it in black to go with a bikini top from another brand and it looks like they were meant to be together. Loved the fit and fabric of this swim skirt so much that I bought the twistini bra size bikini top to go with it. Great sale price too! I'll buy another color next year.

I like this swim skirt. It fits true to size, and the coverage up top and on the bottom is just right, without feeling Granny like. I haven't bought Athleta swimwear before, so I can't report on durability, but the fabric is not flimsy, so it should be good.

Not for you if you are tall and have a tushy. The rise is too low and the bottom is too, too short. (zero coverage back there) I stand at 5'11 with a slender build but I am shaped like a women with hips and I have a bottom. The rise on the swim skirt was 2 3/4 inches below my belly button. Since I had twins and c section last year my belly is not a firm as it was. (Being 45 doesn't help either) So having more coverage is important to me. I have ordered the large tall skorts from Athleta and have been very pleased with them. I am disappointed that the swim skort didn't work. Buying clothes as a tall women has always been difficult. Few options are available especially in swimwear. I compared my old swim skirt to this one and found Athleta's to be 1 1/2 " shorter. I guess I will return the Athleta brand and go back to the other brand. FYI Athleta - tall means tall everywhere. Why would you offer a tall in your swim tops but not in the swim bottoms?
