LOVE IT
Loved the whatever skorts.. now the whatever cord ... fits right in. Light cord so it's not bulky... and i just LOVE IT!
Just Okay
I LOVE my summer weight Whatever skorts. I have 2 pr. I've been waiting for the cord version to go on sale, so when it did, I jumped on it. However, the material isn't heavy enough to hold the ... down in the normal folds (?). It just looks a little odd. The material is stretchy enough that it exaggerates my tummy bulge, then fits tight in the hips, then flares wide like bellbottoms just above my knees. I'm a pretty average size (5'4/140 lbs) and wear a size 4/6 in Athleta ... so I'm not super curvy OR straight hipped. I did notice the model in the picture has no hips, and the ... looks great on her. :) I kept the ... just because I've been wanting iit for so long. If worn w/ longer shirts or sweaters over top, it's fine.
Wanted to like it
I love my Whatever Skort and the size 4 fits me perfectly. But the Whenever Cord ... kind of stiff and the waist is so strange. It doesn't "stay" if that makes sense. The 4 was so big on me, even the drawstring didn't make a difference. It should have been really flattering but made me look bulky. I'll stick to summer items from Athleta. This was my second try at the cord ... petite was way too tight and short.
Don''t think this fabric works with this style
I have three Whatever Skorts, love them. I like the idea of a winter version ... but this doesn't work for me. It's very wrinkled and I don't want a casual ... requires ironing. Without iron or special adjusting, it doesn't flow the way it supposed to be (like the photo showed with the model). It just sticks out and looks weird. I do like the feel of the fabric and the colors. If the same fabric is used on a more A line or narrow style ... would love to give it a try. Unfortunately I had to return this one.
Not the Winter Whatever Skort
I LOVE the Whatever Skort, so thought this would be a super winter alternative. Also love the pink color. And I did know when ordering that it wasn't (sadly) a skort, but a ... Not sure why Athleta made this decision - - would have been much more practical as a skort. But there are more differences. This ... fits tts (already knew this from other reviews - thanks!) while the skort runs a size large. And, what actually made me return it, is that the drape didn't work right in courderoy. The Whatever skort is highly flattering, but this ... kind of contoured my bubble butt and then draped out beneath - funny fit, and maybe it's just because of the different material, but I was sad because I really wanted to like this pink ... couple of minor design adjustments, I'd love it - as it was, had to return.
Not like the whatever skort...not very cute at all
I thought I would love this ... since I own multiple versions of the whatever skort...and love all of them. However, this ... looks totally different in corduroy and doesn't look like the picture at all (at least with me in it). The whatever skort has a playful look to it because of the bounce in the flair of the ... corduroy version, however is stiff and sort of sticks out at the hem. There is little movement in the ... because it so stiff. It looks really cute in this picture (just like the summer whatever version) but it didn't look like this in real life. I was really disappointed this ... didn't work out because I thought it was such a great idea to make a fall version of the whatever. I hope they try again and get it right. The fit is perfect (I'm 5'0" and 112 lbs and ordered a 2), but the look is really unflattering.
Whatever Cord ...
I ordered this in the same size I have my summer weight Whatever Skorts (a size smaller than usual Athleta items - 6 instead of 8), and it was practically hanging off my hips. Perhaps 2 sizes down would work? It didn't fall nicely, and not just because of being too big. The summer weight Whatever Skorts fall perfectly due to the fabric. I did not like this in a corduroy, and probably would not have kept it even if the size was correct.
