womens cycling shorts - reviews

My Favorite Cycling Short
The Spin Short is, by far and away, my favorite indoor cycling short. I am a certified Spinning instructor and I wear these shorts four days a week for my classes. They are a perfect length (I'm 5'7"). The pad is sufficient for a 45 - 60 minutes class and doesn't add the bulk of a traditional cycling short chamois.

Wonderful
This is my first purchase from Athleta, and I could not be more pleased. In the past, I had been using regular biking shorts for spin class. They always felt bulky, sliding in odd directions (I believe I bought a size too big), padding where I did not need it, etc... Athleta's spin ... has revolutionized my spin experience. They have exactly enough padding to keep you comfortable during the class. I am 5'4 135lb and the Medium size was perfect for me. I highly recommend these ...

Very nice cycling shorts
Nice shorts, comfortable and the legs stay in place for cycling. True to size - I'm 5'9", 148 lbs and I ordered a medium. They fit perfect and the padding in the seat is just right! I'll probably order another pair soon.

Great for cycle
Love these shorts! The padding in minimal but does the trick. I wear them for spin class and cycling outside.

2nd pair
Spin ... great ... cycling ang running. Very lightweight chamois so no bulk. The medium fits great on my 5'2", 140lb body. The tattoo on the back adds a little charm and difference to the pants.

Just as expected..
These cycling shorts are just like their cousins the knickers which I have purchased awhile back. I really wanted a pair of shorts that didn't have the big bulky pad but something more stream line and these are them. I wouldn't recommend them for to long of a ride but these are great if you are just doing 20-30 miles. They don't ride up and they are light weight. Highly recommend!

My Favorite Cycling Shorts
These are, by far, my favorite cycling shorts. I am an avid cyclist, Spinning instructor and retired triathlete. I've had lots of cycling shorts over the past 30 years and I've got to admit that the Athleta Spin Short is one of my favorites. The fit is good on my fairly straight athletic body -- there's a drawstring that I removed because it just wasn't necessary for me. The chamois is pretty light and just right for indoor cycling. I have even worn these to lift weights on the gym floor before a Spinning class and not felt self conscious about wearing padded shorts. You could spend a lot more (and I have) on a pair of cycling shorts, but you won't find a better fit or more comfortable fabric. I have them in two colors!

Very minimal padding
I love the fit and look of these shorts. They are very comfortable to wear. The thigh bands are not constricting (even on "athletic" thighs) and they don't ride up. I'm 5'3" and 135 and wear a small usually in Athleta bottoms and these fit great. The only downside for me is the minimal padding - I wasn't sure what that meant, but compared to my cycling shorts I'd call this no padding. It's more like 3 layers of the same shorts material. The serging is a little thick, but overall were comfortable. I ride a road bike typicallly about 20 miles and these were barely enough padding for me on my ... saddle. However, for an hour long spin class on those seats I think they'd be great, and I do love that they don't feel bulky in the crotch - can go out for coffee or walk aound without feeling weird. I'm keeping them because they're cute and work for shorter rides for sure or when I go to the gym class.

I use these for cycling & love them. They're comfortable, stylish, & not too bulky. I'm 5'4", 140lbs, & bought a medium which fits great.

exactly what they promise
The spin shorts are great shorts for ... rides or a spin class. The padding is minimal, so you don't feel like you're wearing a diaper like a standard chamois. However, if you're riding much over an hour, you probably do want more padding! The leg grippers are unnecessarily tight, so the shorts take a little work to get on, but once on, they are comfy.

Disappointing
The ... were cute and they fit great, but the padding looked like a giant pad. It wrapped from the front to the back so it looked like you were carrying a load between your legs. It's too bad because besides that they were very comfortable ... did not ride up while I cycled. I just can't get past how weird they look on so I will be returning them.
