Comfortable while working in the sun!
This shirt arrived yesterday; today I put it on and mowed the whole place. It was sunny and at least 80 degrees, yet I was cool and comfortable, even with the long sleeves. And the long sleeves are why I bought it - I mowed last week with sunscreen on, but even so out popped the "old lady bright red liver spots," and I don't care to go through the summer sporting those! This is a great answer.

Great shirt - PLEASE consider making it in TALL sizes
Love the shape of this shirt -- very fitted without being too skin tight. As many previous reviewers have stated, I wish the length was a little longer, maybe about 2 inches. Or better yet, keep the sizing the same for the many who find this shirt to be perfect, and PLEASE, ATHLETA, manufacture this shirt in a TALL SIZE! I think if you are petite or have a short torso, this length will be perfect for you. If you are tall or have a long torso, you may or may not be comfortable with the length. I am 5'8", 150 lbs (usu wear M/8 pants and M tops) and have a long torso and long arms, even for my height. I am 42 years old, so I am not about having my belly hanging out. I ordered this shirt in a medium and have been on the fence about keeping it. I am thinking I will keep it b/c i love the shirt and the sun protection it offers, but I will be limited to wearing it over a one piece bathing suit or with my shorts that have a little higher of a rise. I ordered another in a large, just to see if that does anything for me, but I'm afraid that although it may offer more length, it may also be too wide. We'll see.....I'll try to let you know!

Just about perfect!
I bought this shirt several months ago, but didn't try it out until a recent trip to Hawaii. It was the best thing I brought with me! I have red hair and fair skin, and this shirt was great as I didn't have to keep slathering on the sunscreen. I wore it in the ocean to swim and snorkel, and also while tubing. I was a bit worried about it riding/floating up while in the water, but this was not an issue. After swimming I would keep it on for sitting in the sun, and never got hot despite the long sleeves. It did take awhile to dry, but I think that actually kept me cool so no complaints about that. I am 5'10" and 130# with long arms, and the sleeves were actually long enough for me in a medium. Ideally, the overall length of the shirt would be an inch or 2 longer, but as I am tall I am used to things not being quite long enough for me. I like that it wasn't super tight like a true rash guard; it was easy to take off when wet. It washed great too--the famous red Kauai dirt that I got all over it when tubing washed right out in the hotel sink with a little dish soap. I couldn't be more pleased, and will be buying another long sleeved one and a few short sleeved ones for my next vacation! It was definitely worth the money, and a great product!

Swim and Play
I'm 5'10" and about 145 and the large fit just right. The sleeves are a little long which I love because I have long arms. The shirt is a little looser than most swim shirts I have but otherwise I love it.

A Great Non binding Tee
I love this Tee. It is comfortable and extremely non binding. I like my long sleeve tees to fit a little big so I ordered this one in a larger size. I have long arms and the sleeve length is also right on. It fits perfect and will add another level of protection from the suns rays. I also have two pair of Oceanside Shorts that will match this tee to a 'T'. Thanks to Athleta, my travel, beach, hike, anytime wardrobe is becoming very versatile and space saving.

This shirt is too heavy to wear in the summer where I live, but I decided to give it a try for a spring/fall running shirt. It fits really well and is the perfect weight for running outside in cool weather. I found it to fit true to size. I usually wear a size S ... (size 4, 34D) and the S in this was relaxed but close to the body, and the fit through the bust and arms (problem areas for me) was quite generous. The sleeves were a little long, but I'm petite so sleeves are always too long on me. Unlike many tops i've tried from Athleta, the length on this one was just perfect, hitting at mid hip. I got the light blue and it's a bright, flattering color. Can't wait for cooler weather so I can wear this.

Loved but too short overall
I am tall (5'9")and long waisted and long armed and it was overall too short for me. I did not order a larger size because then it would be too wide. It is a little boxy for me. I also ordered the bermuda board shorts which I loved and kept but worn together looked like a cartoon character. I had thought they would go well together.

another great sucess
I have been looking for ages for a light weight good looking summer long sleeve ... wear on my bike. Especially since I am going on a 7 day 545 mile ride!!! And I have to protect my skin as I am prone to basal skin cancers!!! I loved the colours available in this range and would buy another colour too, but I am starting to have a lot of long sleeved tops! This fits well, is comfortable to wear, and breathes well when steaming uphill! Totally great for us girls who want to protect our skin.

Reading the reviews helped me pick the correct size. I did not want it tight, but did not want the sleeves too long either. I got the small and it is perfect. I am 5 2 1/2 and 110 pounds. I have had lots of skin cancer and wanted a long sleeve shirt that I could wear to soccer games but also wear at the beach that was comfortable.

Really like it; But love the sleeveless version more
I originally ordered the asphalt long sleeve version of this rash guard. Then the new swimwear came out and a sleeveless version of the rash guard was available. Although I was happy with the long sleeved version, I REALLY like the sleeveless one! I think it is a little more sporty, and is more flattering for me. The piping around the shoulders looks makes my shoulders look nice. Although the piping is the same on the long sleeved version - it's piping made me look a little broad in the shoulders. So although I really like this rash guard, I'm sending it back and keeping the sleeveless version. I got the rash guard not so much for swimming, but for those long days on the beach when the sun just gets to be too much. With the sleeveless version I can still get sun on my arms, but protect my chest and tummy area from the rays. I am 5' 3", 120 pounds/slender build and ordered a Small.

Summer Shade Tee
I bought this in both long and short sleeves, and was surprised to find that the long sleeve fits much tighter around the stomach than the short sleeve. I am keeping it, because it's so cute. Just more incentive to do more crunches!

Prepare to order larger size!
I was looking for an attractive rash guard to wear on vacation in Hawaii for water activities. I am 6 feet tall and have a hard time finding things long enough. In the other Gap brands I typically wear a M Tall. After looking at other reviews saying this ran small I ordered a Large. There is no Tall option on this one. I also ordered the Hopkinton ... M Tall at the same time. The Hopkinton ... correct size in the M Tall but I much preferred the style of this rash guard. I liked the option of making the waist as long or as short as I liked. Being tall that was a plus. I also really liked the zipper at the neckline. The Large was OK but a little snug in the chest and I am by no means large chested. I went back and ordered the XL just to see. At [$] I figured I wanted to make sure I was happy with the purchase. I am glad I did because the XL was surprisingly perfect. Not too tight and not too loose. Sleeves could be a tad longer but totally livable. If you normally are an XL girl I would pass on this one. The purple color is also very pretty and versatile. I am looking forward to using this.

Got One, Now I Want More
I am 5'4", 140 lbs, 36-38C. I bought a size Medium. I have had my eye on this rash guard for a few months now, so when it went on sale and combined with the post Thanksgiving savings, I bought it. It came in the mail today as we were on our way to the beach so I was able to try it out right away. The first thing I loved about it was the zipper front. I have been annoyed in the past by other rash guards because the neck feels too confining/tight. The zipper front on this shirt gives you the option to have it up for full protective coverage, or down a bit so you can cool off and breathe a little. The second thing I loved was the length of the arms...it hits a little past the wrist and stays there. Even when I got in the water it didn't move and was very comfortable. Thirdly, the fabric was really nice. A little bit different than your average rash guard, I felt it was a little bit softer and not so slick. Last, I loved that it is longer than other rash guard shirt. They have a tendency to sneak up on you as you're swimming or doing other water things, and this one stayed in place. The temperature when I wore it was 82 degrees with a breeze, and with the ... sleeve shirt on, it was really comfortable. I used it for stand up paddle boarding today, and I didn't feel there were any issues with mobility. I got the green and it's a fun color. My husband thought it looked great as well and told me I should get another one in a different color. Hello black rash guard! I'm looking at you next!

Very long
Love the color, love the flattering look for women who don't have a flat stomach, comfortable material. It is very long when extended fully. ... enough to be a short dress. I am 5'8'' and it reached mid thigh on me. I ordered it to wear over my swimsuit on the beach. I think it will work well for that, although it has too much extra material in the waist to make it good for swimming.

this ... made for me
I added the ... sleeved blue ... my original short sleeved order in white, when I came to the realization that I could wear it over my suit for summer water sports. No matter how much sunscreen I wear, I seem to burn these days, and the ... sleeved ... keep the sun off the sensitive places. The fit of the medium is beautiful - I'm a 36 C and it is fitted but not tight on me. The sleeves are nice and ... length is adjustable - perfect for my 5'10" body. Can't wait to try it out in the surf.

Excellent and Stylish SPF Clothing
As other reviewers have noted, this does run skin tight across the mid section, so if you want some space there, order a size up. I'm 5'8", about 165 lbs, and small chested, and over the Shirrendipity Halter Bikini ... (medium) and Sporty Shirred Bottom (large), this cover up in large works great. As a shirt, there is some space in the midsection and the ruching and ties look great, and plays up even my small chest. As a dress, it is a bit tight, but since I'm larger on the bottom, that is to be expected. >> What I really bought it for was an emergency cover up and sun "proof" shirt, since my skin burns easily. I wore it for a parade recently and after being in the hot sun for over 6 hours, I did not get any sun burn in places the shirt was covering! Also, despite the ... sleeves, this shirt is actually very cool (since it is blocking the sun) and breathes really well (the fabric is very thin and all nylon/spandex), so don't be deterred by the ... sleeves if you want full sun protection. The only thing I wish is that they had it in more colors!

Love the convertibility!
I purchased the skirt and matching ... sleeve cover up - so cute and love the ability to adjust the length as needed!! This is a very cute outfit and I received numerous compliments! The reviews said it was running small, so I was nervous. It is not - it fits perfectly. I am 5'6" and 142lbs and bought a medium. It looks great to run around after being at the beach or to cover sunburn. It does take longer to dry than expected, so wash it earlier in the day or afternoon.

perfect rashguard!
i looked high and low for a great rashguard before finding this one and i love it!! not only does it provide great sun protection, but it's super cute! i thought my boyfriend was going to hate the fact that i'm choosing to cover up at the beach... but he thinks this guard is super sexy--especially unzipped, because i can show a little cleavage (well sunscreened cleavage, of course)! I normally wear a large, and that's what i got. i was a little concerned that the arms wouldn't be long enough, as i usually need to order tall sizes and this isn't offered in a tall... but the arms are plenty long! i was pleasantly surprised!! also, the other reviewers are correct in saying that it fits skin tight, but that's the style. if you want to go slightly baggy, i'd order up. i'm so pleased with this purchase. thanks athleta!!!

Best Rash Guard out there
I just returned from a family vacation in Maui where I lived in this rash guard. It was perfect for water sports (windsurfing), swimming in the ocean and poolside. I never had to worry about getting too much sun on my body because I was covered. It also looked great on, very stylish. I highly recommend wearing it whenever you find yourself at the beach or at the pool. It also made me feel good when my children were wearing their ... sleeve rash guards, that I too had one on...a more stylish one. I usually wear small and ordered an extra small so that it fit tight.

Love this
After too many skin cancers for my young age, I needed some sun protection above and beyond the sunscreen I was using. Local stores only had short sleeve. Zipper up front allows for a little sense of fashion. Tight at chest, but not at waist. Looked very long when it arrived, but adjusts for any length. I wear mine right where my bathing suit bottoms start. Very cute. Have not been hot at Florida beaches, not any heavier than bathing suit material. I'm sure as temps rise, I will have to get wet to stay cool, just from wearing long sleeves in full sun. Color is great (aqua color, not sure what they called it.) I rarely take time to review a product, but love this one. Price high but hard to find anything comparable for less.

Loving it!
I purchased the pink version of this ... LOVE IT! I got plenty of positive compliments on it as well :) After reading other reviews, i picked the small (instead of the extra small). I use it on the beach to decrease my sun exposure and it is perfect! I was concerned about being hot in this ... sleeves but I was just right with the San Diego ocean breeze. My only "complaint" is that I wish it came in a petite size as it is really ... completely unruched, it looks like a extremely tight lycra dress that goes down to my tights. Not exactly the look I was going for, ha!). I have a short torso and needs to ruche it all the way up. Highly recommend this ...

Not for me
This is a cute guard but unfortunately not for my body type. I'm 5'5 and 135# and curvy in the hips. The guard when not ruched is too long and tight on the bum. When it is ruched looks too bunchy and just not flattering at all. I imagine this ... would look great on someone tall or with a long torso and smaller rear end. The blue/aqua color is great but had to send it back.

Super comfortable and flattering
This ... very stylish and incredibly flattering for an active ... bought it for trail running and skiing, and I think it will be great for those and other outdoor activities, but I'll probably also wear it around town as well. NIce design, Athleta! I'm 5'6", 145lbs and athletic, and I like my tops a bit loose. The large is perfect -- contoured but not tight.

Great ...
I love this ... bought it for running outside in Alaska in the spring. It keeps me at just the right temperature when I get up to speed. The fabric wicks and breathes really well. I love that it's not fitted around my tummy area too. This is probably one of my favorite tops so far.

New favorite ...
Great fit, loved the thumb holes, comfy! I loved this ... wore it running with a light ... sleeve shirt under it in some cold, windy weather and it was perfect! It doesn't ride up like some tops do. I bought the white one for visibility when running in higher traffic areas. It was great I will probably buy another one.

Love This ...
I am pleased that this is not as heavy as some of my other zip neck running tops. It is soft, silky and clings lightly to the body. It will be perfect for those days when I want ... but just barely. With the attractive ruching it is pretty enough to wear out to lunch. It is a bit longer than some of my other zip necks, but I rather like that. (I am 5'3") The dusty orchid shade is very flattering, by the way.

cool details
The all white color is not as sheer as you would think for such a thin material. i was pleasantly surprised that while you can see tank tops underneath it is rather faint & does not look tacky but the material itself is kind of shiny so i don't know if i will keep. this shirt has a lot of interesting details with the rouching. there is a mesh, breathable material under the arms which is cool. this shirt is ... overall length which i don't like, but I'm only 5' and ordered the XXS.

Perfect for Running
The thin fabric makes it ideal for running - there is nothing worse than running in cold weather with a heavier running ... starts to feel gross once you're warm because the sweat collects in certain spots and you just feel weighed down and nasty. This is nice and sheer but still keeps any body parts from going numb. Thumb holes are always key - I wish all ... sleeve active tops and jackets came with thumb holes and hand mitts, so that is a nice feature. I am 5'4", 140 lbs and I have broad shoulders and a 34DD/32DDD chest. I got a medium, and I probably could have gotten away with a small because of the ruching and stretch but it would have been more fitted and I like to have some room when I run. The white is a little see through but I don't mind because I wear something underneath it all the time, but if you are planning on wearing it solo and don't like the idea of your skin showing through then I would not recommend getting white.

Great half zip
I am usually a M in Athleta tops thanks to my 34DD chest, however, I am a small in this ... perhaps thanks to the ruching! I actually really didn't think I liked the ... because it was a bit too "ruffly" for my taste, but a friend made me try it on and I fell in love! I've gotten a lot of compliments on it so far as well! As another reviewer noted, it is a thin fabric, but I think that makes it great for layering.

Easily stashable little black wrap
I was looking for a simple, lightweight black wrap with two requirements, it needed to be light and easily rolled up to be stowed in my purse and it had to look good with my dresses. That's exactly what this is. It's made of super soft T shirt material and can be worn in several different ways. I'm 5'8 with a long torso, 27" waist, 35B bust size, and the small fits well. Iit falls at the smallest part of my waist so I can wrap it around to tie it in the back for a cute, flattering look. I haven't washed it yet, but judging by the lightness of the material, I'm thinking handwash and flat dry will be best although the label instructions say, "machine wash delicate."

Great for summer indoor wear
I love the lightweight material. These are perfect for spring b/c they are very light and airy. They will be a good layer for indoor air conditioning during the summer at a restaurant on a date or at church. I like the feminine ruffle detail at the hem and the length. I wish the sleeves were a little longer, but I always have trouble with this as my arms are long and skinny. I am a true small at Athleta. The black is very versatile. The gray is not as versatile, but they didn't have it in white/cream. With the two colors, I have more options.

A cute summer wrap but sleeves a little too snug
I was excited when Athleta came out with a shorter wrap and immediately bought 3 different colors in a size Small for layering. I normally buy XS in tops. It fits perfectly and can be dressed up or down. The only complaint I have is that the sleeves fit too snug so the only layering can be with a cami or sleeveless ... snug sleeves also make it a little too warm to use during the daytime in the summer.

I ordered a S in black. It's cute but the arms are a bit too snug for my liking. I don't have bigger than-normal arms, and I see in the model picture that they are tight on her as well, so it's just the cut. It's also a little bit too tight in the shoulders. I often have this problem with tops, so it might be just me and not the ... I'm afraid if I size up, the body will be too baggy. Not sure if I'll reorder or not.
