Love it!
I thought the ... were great, but now I love this ... skirt. It's a flattering fit for my 50 yr old body. The "otter" color is like a chocolate brown, though, not a lighter hue like what you see in the photo. I bought a scrunch top to match in the same color and look forward to strutting my stuff in my latest Athleta purchase.
True Love
All I can say is "Wow"! I hadn't intended to get this bottom when I purchased the Banzai Triangle Top in Brilliant Blue, but they were sold out the matching ... my size. I couldn't be happier for that small issue because I found one of the best looking bathing suit bottoms. I purchased the Brilliant Blue and it matches the Banzai top perfectly. I got a medium (I am 5' 3" and 115 lbs, waist 30'; hips 37') and it fit perfectly. The little side ruching nicely camoflages the little ripple of skin that apears at the top of the bathing suit and I love the slit in the ... flirtily shows the top of my thigh when I move while covering my hips and thighs in all the right places. I loved this ... so much I ordered 2 more, including one to go with a bathing suit top from another company.
Yay, a suit for me!
This is really cute and it fits well. I am not a fat girl by any means but I have had cellulite since I was 17. I can't find anything that covers up the butt but still looks cute (boy ... make me look fat because I have a poochy belly). So I tried this and it's really cute. I have a 26inch waist and 34-36 inch hips and I got the xs and it fits good. I have yet to actually wear it in the water, so we will see how it holds up when it do.
Not frumpy on me
I got the size XS based on the hips measurement on the size chart, and it fits well. I typically wear size S running ... major athletic brands, but XS works for me with this skirt and a pair of Athleta Splash ... also bought. I debated between this skirt and the Splash skirt, and I'm glad I chose this one. The front of the waistband is flatter than on the Splash series. I don't mind the fluffy waist detail on the ... I'm keeping the ... too) but I wanted something sleeker for the skirt. The skirt looks sleek and sporty, not frilly or matronly. The rise is just right--low, but not too low. I'm pairing the skirt with a running ... top, so a sporty appearance was what I wanted. I was afraid that the skirt would be too long because I'm only 5'2", but it's just long enough to cover the tops of my thighs. The total outseam of the XS is just under 10.5 inches.
Much More Flattering Than the Oceanside ...
I am 5'5,145 pounds and ordered the large. The skirt is very flattering and is a good length. It covers the saddle bags at the top of your thighs but still feels like young and fun. I also ordered the ... skirt is much more flattering. The ... show a 'visible panty line' from the internal bottom and looked terrible on me across the hips and thighs. Luckily, there is no such problem in the skirt. I was nervous ordering this skirt in white since I carry weight in my hips and thighs. But you do not notice any cellulite or other problems with the white color. I like it so much I also have it in the pink also and they both look good with the Banzai Pipeline and Crescent Bay Floral Tankini tops.
Runs large? Otherwise good
I'm not comfortable in just bikini bottoms - or just in a bathing suit, for that matter. I usually opt for board ... but wanted a different option. ... pretty good for me, though I'm having to learn Athleta's sizing the hard way. I don't think I am an XS, but I returned the S for the XS. The S fit ok, but was a little baggy, particularly around the rear on the briefs (a particular surprise to me, I'm pretty well endowed there!). I usually wear anything from a 2 to a 6 in Banana Republic pants, though I skew more toward a 4 or 2, just depends on the item. This doesn't offer a whole lot more coverage than just a ... bottom but enough that I think I'll feel more comfortable in public. I haven't worn then in water yet, or really to do anything but try them on. Looking forward to it, though, in two weeks!
Flattering full coverage
I like extra coverage in bottoms and this skirt provides it while still being cute and flirty. I ended up getting a large because its all that was left in the color that would match the top I purchased but I think a medium would fit better. However, I've tested it and I believe it will stay in place so I'm giving it a go because it is comfortable, good coverage, and very cute. I would say it is true to size so don't order up if you tend to do that. I also tried a pair of ... but found the skirt to be much more flattering because it de emphasizes the size of hips and thighs.

Great ... - runs A SIZE BIG!
I chose this ... over the Oceanside ... because it had a better look to it. I've put on weight and the ... just didn't look right; the ... covered more. It was very comfortable. All the reviews said it ran big, so I ordered down a size and was perfectly comfortable with it. It fits and feels great! Also, it has washed well so far and I'm very happy with this and the Shirrendipity Halter I bought to go with it.
great skirt
I wear this with either the shirendippity halter, vital ... five palms tankini. Works great with all of them. A bit less sporty than the wildflower skirt, but still very cute and functional.
great fit, very flattering
finally I feel comfortable in a bathing suit. great fit. two suggestions to athleta: make the skirts with boyshorts instead of ... panty underneath skirt to avoid panty line bulge - I'm very thin but still have that problem area. also, the white should be DOUBLE LINED because when it's wet it looks paper thin which is the only reason for not giving it 5 stars. you can see the seams underneath and the tag and it's not as forgiving against any problem areas you are trying to keep undercover. You are still covered up because of the panty underneath but a double lining on the white skirt would be much more flattering. I didn't have this problem with the black skirt. ATHLETA, KEEP MAKING THIS SKIRT. I love it just as much as the oceanside ...
