Love these
True to size. Not binding. Look fabulous on can even be worn for going out and about. Love the material looks higher end clothing. Love these very pleased.

Dream Shorts!
Wow, I am sooooo happy with these shorts - best I've ever found! I look for clothes that are comfy, but look sharp - tough combo - but these fit the bill! I can't stand anything tight around my waist and yet don't want things to be baggy or falling down - these are perfect! I don't feel any pressure around my waist - you forget that you're even wearing them! I hope Athleta makes pants like these! :)

Love these shorts!
Exactly what I was looking for, I love that the shorts have pockets and that I can wear them to workout at the gym and then go straight to run my errands if I want and it does not look like I am wearing my workout clothes. I generally order workout clothes one size larger because I don't like them too snug, but these run large so order your regular size.

Surprisingly flattering for a pear shape!
I was prepared to not like these shorts because of the stretchy material, but they're great! The fabric is wonderful; super stretchy, soft & comfy. Ordered these for an upcoming vacation; I wanted summer clothing that was versatile, would travel well & stand up to heat/humidity. I'm very out of shape due to a recent injury; I'm 5'9", about 20 lbs overweight right now (wear a size 8-10/M under normal circumstances) & hippy/pear shaped with a lovely new stomach bulge--yay, aging! Had no idea what size to order, so I whipped out the tape measure & went to the size chart (VERY helpful, btw). Ordered the XL & I'm glad I did. It says "semi fitted," but it should say "fitted"--these shorts definitely hug the rear & hips, at least on me. But the color (I ordered black) & the pockets/stitching help camouflage any lumpy parts, thankfully. These are very flattering shorts, but if you're hippy/pear shaped, order a size UP! Love the side slits at the knee. Like other reviewers, the only thing I would change is to add a drawstring at the waist--once these get stretched out and/or I lose a few pounds, I don't think the non adjustable waist will stay up. Overall these are great, versatile shorts that will pack/travel well, & I plan on wearing them a LOT--for walking, hiking, ... running errands, hanging out & traveling. I may even order another pair!

This short is great for almost everything!
I love this short. I can do my Pilates, barre work, ... then run the rest of my errands without wearing clingy gym clothes or running shorts. I have them in two colors. The material is a little stretchy, so you could size down if you are inbetween.

Love Athleta clothing!
I bought a pair of ... last summer so of course need a different color for this summer. I found the new ones to be about 1.5 inches larger through waist and hips. Still love them though!

Success!
These are as expected all around based on website photos and reviews. They are very comfortable. My first purchase from Athleta. The fabric is a little heavier than I expected (I have other ... pants from a successful Canadian ... retailer on the west coast and Athleta fabric is thicker). Don't think I would ever wear these as street clothes in my large city, but maybe in a less urban environment they would be ok. I ordered medium, I'm a size 6 in Banana Republic and size 8 in ... pants from the aforementioned Canadian retailer.

Pretty good.
I haven't worn these yet but they seem to fit pretty well and I like the cut a lot. The length looks pretty cool esp for older women like me (>55). I'd buy another pair or two if they came in a navy/royal blue /brown. Am sick of black, and don't like olive. (I got the asphalt). I'm a 6 normally and the small fits perfectly. Another reviewer commented on the elastic waist band giving the illusion of a muffin top. I noticed the same thing. I am slender but do have a bulge from the narrow elastic. Maybe put a wider elastic in the waist band to avoid this, or even better, looser elastic plus a drawstring?

OK Fit
I bought these as part of my upgrade to my hanging out clothes. They will be a fine addition, but may not be my "go to" everything bermuda. Th fabric is nice, the cut is fine, but there just isn't anything special about these. I also thought they fit a bit snuggly across the tummy and rear than normal Athleta mediums. Not enough to size up, but enough so that I will be able to gauge weight loss without stepping on the scale! Guess that's a good thing. I will consider these shorts an aid in my weight loss program!
Too big for a small frame/petite women
I love Athleta clothes and have had a good experience until these. I am 5'2" and 105 lbs and these shorts are enormous on me! I typically wear the XXS petite or XXS in Athleta - I bought these in an XXS and they run much bigger than any other in this size I've bought previously.
